Mascara -Lancome - Hypnose Drama

I really wanted to like this- Lancôme makes exceptional mascaras, but this one is awful. Maybe I got a lemon of a tube? My experience is it's super clumpy and thick. I would purchase this if I worked on Broadway and needed my lashes to be seen from the balcony. However, I work in an office and prefer my makeup to look less pageanty.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Corfu
rated 4 of 5

I caved after I read Mandy Moore's review in September's Lucky issue. I like her make-up style, simple and natural. And now I'm a fan of Corfu. It's a sheen and glossy colored taupe. I wear it mostly during the weekend days. It gives my eyes a perky glow without looking like I applied eye shadow to run errands, even though I did. ...Shhh... this can be our little secret. The downside. It does crease. Not a bad crease, but it will happen. Thankfully it's a cream so you just pat your finger back and forth over your eyelid a couple times and crease be gone!

Moisturizers -Revive - Ré Vive Sensitif Cellular Repair Cream
rated 4 of 5

I've been using Sensitif Cellular Repair for about five months after asking a friend with a glowing complexion what she used and learning it was Revive. It is an incredible moisturizer for those with dry skin. What I like best is that I don't have to apply ten layers of this and that skincare to get results. All I apply is this moisturizer and then I layer my foundation on top. I wouldn't call it a miracle, but it works. My skin is clear and smooth with ONE product. (Two if you count their Moisture Renewal Cream- my nighttime regime.) It's not cheap, but neither are the others after you factor in two and three creams, serums, etc needed before you can walk out your front door. I wish it wasn't packaged in a glass jar. I am a klutz and the fact that it's packaged in glass is an accident waiting to happen. It's also expensive and only available via the web or at Neiman’s. Take a check or American Express because that's all they accept.

Blush -Bobbi Brown - Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks - Calypso Coral
rated 4 of 5
nclancy 9/8/2009 4:19:00 PM

The color looks lite-brite in the pot and it is, but when applied sparingly it gives a warm natural glow. When the BB counter recommended it I thought they were high. I have olive colored skin with dark curly hair and am usually shown deeper, bronzier shades. Calypso Coral is perfect for daytime. Your cheeks look flush and since it's a stain you also get a dewy effect- double thumbs up!

Fragrances -Frederic Malle - En Passant
rated 4 of 5

En Passant is lovely, plain and simple. Another reviewer noted that you'll smell like a floral shop verus a flower perfume and I could not agree more. Better yet, I had my husband with me when I purchased it and he too thought it was nice without smelling like perfume. The lilac lends a floral note, while the cucumber adds a dash of fresh that makes it perfect during the day and safe for the office. Enjoy!

Masks -Juice Beauty - Green Apple Peel
rated 5 of 5

Best Sephora recommendation ever! I use this twice a week in conjunction with Obagi-C RX for treating my melasma and hyperpigmentation. Put it on while in the shower and let it sit for 10-15 minutes- shave, brush your teeth, whatever to kill the time. It is tingly/stingy and you will be red when you get out so I suggest using this in the evening. It's all natural and easy to find- Sephora, Whole Foods, etc.

Treatments -Obagi - Obagi-C RX System
rated 5 of 5
nclancy 5/12/2009 12:30:00 AM

I first used the Obagi Nu Derm System and showed amazing results. I wanted to steer away from all the hydroquinone in the Nu Derm System, but was not ready to let go of Obagi. I'm thrilled with the continued results on their Obagi-C RX System. I had a melasma mask around my eyes, on my upper lip and in the middle of my eyebrows. The melasma on my upper lip is gone, there is a small spot still on my forehead and faint color around my eyes... I can live with them knowing what it looked like when I first started. It was great to find a product that worked after using numerous products and dropping loads of cash. The best part is my husband is on board with the cost having witnessed the results. I would definitely recommend this product if you have melasma concerns.
