I recently got this in the Lip Gloss Trio onboard a long-haul flight. It came with Hot Pink and Petal and a black zippy Bobbi Brown case. Of all the colours I thought, I'm giving Tangerine away as there is no way I could wear it, it's bright ORANGE!! I also thought, how could this be a best-selling shade? Oh how I was wrong, this suits me so well!! I'm a BB Warm Ivory with pinky lips and blue eyes and this is such a natural colour on! It makes me look peachy lipped and healthy. When you first apply yes it does look orange but as you blend with the attached brush all over you end up with a gorgeous natural looking hue with loads of shine!!! Love it!!!!!!!
I bought this shampoo (or hair bath as kerastase likes to call them) for the volumizing effect. When I used it for the first time I was disappointed that it wouldn't lather very well. Then I learnt from a hair stylist that you have to lather up twice (as in lather, rinse, repeat) to get it to lather up well and voila, this worked!!! The lather was gorgeous and creamy and really felt like it was cleansing my hair and nourishing it at the same time and the smell is to die for! I use this is conjunction with other kerastase hair produts and love how my hair feels. Clean, light, bouncy and healthy. Love it!
I recently bought this after reading good reviews about it here. I have to say, I'm not disappointed. It's a true YLBB shade that just makes my fairly pigmented lips look shiny, moist and "finished" so that I look fresh and polished. I think you should always have something on your lips, even just some lip balm to finish your face off and balance everything out. This colour would go with every look as it's so neutral. Yes, it's sticky, but this makes it last well. I actually don't mind the brush applicator....SHOCK HORROR!!! lol. I think it makes the gloss go on smoothly. And by the time it gets so splayed that it's unusable, you'll probably have used up the tube anyway. I think I'm probably the only, or one of very few, that is pro- this brush! The tube is really tiny for the price (£13 in the UK) but this does make it very portable. So in total, loving this gloss, my new favourite!
I bought this after trying the Bobbi Brown Lathering tube soap and absolutely loving it! However, this did not live up to the cleanser at all! First of all, the bottle is ridiculously unpractical, I can so see myself dropping this and it smashing on the bathroom floor! It's definitely not designed for travel. Secondly, I don't think it really did anything for my skin. It didn't irritate my skin really, but it did leave a slightly tacky finish to my skin which I hated. It's pretty clear to me that this will not work for me as a toner and there are plenty of much better and cheaper toners out there. I'll use up the bottle, but after that, will not repurchase.
This is my staple face wipe product. It gets face make-up and eye make-up off great, even waterproof mascara and doesn't sting or irriate. Of course, I'll always cleanse my skin properly afterwards, but this will get the bulk of the make-up off beforehand. They come in a resealable green pack which is so handy to take around with you. They are also great for fixing smudged mascara etc. This is apparently the no.1 face wipe in the UK and I think that's well deserved as they do the job they're supposed to, are reasonably cheap and one package lasts around two weeks, which is good going, especially for me!
This is a great lip plumper. Ok, so it's not a miracle product, but the tingely sensation just stimulates your lips making them look that little bit fuller. It also adds a nice shine and feels quite moisturizing. It doesn't last very long though, however, that's maybe because I tend to lick it off over time!! It has a lovely minty fresh taste. The tube is quite large and the applicator is just a slanted tip, much like bobbi brown tube tints. Overall, a fairly good product which I would probably rebuy when it runs out!
Bronzers -Bobbi Brown - Bronzing Powder in Natural
naturalchic07 6/16/2007 5:26:00 PM
I originally got this bronzer in the bronzer/blush duo (natural/pale pink). It's a great colour for people who are both fair skinned with slightly pinky undertones, as it's beige based, so it won't accentuate any redness in your skin. It's got an almost creamy smooth texture, although it's a powder. A little goes a long way. I always dust this on the back of my hand before applying and just do the forehead, temples, nose and chin. It just gives a nice overall effect to make you look healthier and a little bit sunkissed. It's not the kind of bronzer that will make people think, "Wow, she's brown!" Instead, it's very typical bobbi brown, natural and understated. It is a bit overpriced though, but seems like the compact will last forever so hopefully won't have to buy another one in the foreseeable future!
I love love love this mascara!! My absolute HG. It's easy to apply, don't sting or irritate my sensitive eyes and comes off easily but doesn't smudge or flake during the day. Don't think that this mascara won't give you stand out lashes, it's better than some that claim to do that!!! My lashes look blacker than black, defined, curled, lengthened and volumized. The packaging is sleek and simple and the brush is easy to use. I always repurchase this as I love it so much. It's not dirt cheap, however, it's not overly expensive either and totally worth the price; about £12 or so in the UK.
Blush -Bobbi Brown - Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks - Powder Pink
naturalchic07 6/16/2007 12:07:00 PM
This is a gorgeous product. I chose the colour Powder Pink for a more natural look on my fair, warm ivory skin tone. I found that, even with my oily skin, this is fairly difficult to blend well, so you really need to have well moisturized cheeks before hand. But I simply pat it on and this warms it up a little, allowing me to blend it well. The colour looks different on than in the pot, it just really makes me look fresh and healthy. I've taken to doing a swipe of the Beige Shimmerbrick on my cheek bones after applying the pot rouge and WOW!!! Stunning look. Love love love this product!!! Also I've recently started to dab this on my lips to keep the colour the same as my cheeks. Then I added a slick of the BB Brightening gloss in White and voila, pure gorgeous lips!!
I wanted to try a hair mask to see if it made any difference to my hair as I've recently started to highlight it. So I bought this, as my hair is quite fine. It comes in a cute jar, which is large with a screw on lid. It's not very practical, but it is attractive. The texture of the white conditioner is gorgeous and the scent is lovely too. I leave this on for about ten mins. From the moment I start to rinse it out, I can feel how smooth my hair feels. It really does improve the texture and condition of my hair, more so than a regular conditioner. Definitely will repurchase. This does what it says on the jar!
Hair -Kerastase - Expanseur Volumeactive volumizer
naturalchic07 6/16/2007 8:20:00 AM
I love to have nice bouncy volume in my hair so bought this as a dual-purpose leave-in conditioner spray and volumizer. It certainly conditions and helps detangle. It doesn't add amazing volume or anything, but certainly helps stop my hair from being too flat. My hair always feels really well nourished when I use this, often in place of a proper in-shower conditioner. This is great, as most days I don't have time to use a conditioner in the shower. The one thing about it is that it doesn't seem to last very long. The level of product that you see from the outside of the spray bottle actually seems to visibly go down after each use, which can't be good! lol. But all in all, it's a good product which I will repurchase because it works for my hair!
When I had my hair done recently, the girl who washed my hair used this as I'd just had a few highlights done. First of all, the smell is Iabsolutely gorgeous!!!!! Can't describe it, but it is beautiful and the scent stays on your hair throughout the day which is nice! I normally lather, rince and repeat with this to get a good lather, as the first lather is never very rich. However, that is apparently what you are supposed to do with Kerastase shampoos. It leaves my hair beautifully soft and shiny without even adding in a conditioner. However, I find if I use it everyday, it can start to build up, so I need to use a more clarifiying shampoo every few days. All in all, a great shampoo for me, if a bit pricey!
Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Long Wear Cream Eyeshadow in Black Pearl
naturalchic07 6/15/2007 6:29:00 PM
I bought this after seeing a video clip of Bobbi Brown herself demonstrating how to achieve a simple smokey eye. Although she didn't name names in her demo, it was pretty obvious what three colours she was using, glacier all over, galaxy on lid and black pearl to smoke it out. The overall effect was stunning, especially with nude lips and cheeks. And given that you might what to do a smokey look when your out at night, you want the colours to last and these definitely do last, even on my oily lids. Ok, they might not look as fresh at the end of the night, but who does?! Black pearl is a brilliant colour to create that smokey eye and having tried these three colours together myself, they work brilliantly together. Will definitely re-buy.
Skincare - Face -Clarins - Ultra Matte Rebalancing Lotion
naturalchic07 6/15/2007 7:54:00 AM
I bought this because it claimed to be THE product for people with really oily skin and that over time, it would cause your oil glands to produce less and less oil. On that note, it didn't seem to work at all. It wasn't even matte when first applied. My decleor moisturizer for oily skin (the aroma purete one) is powdery matte to begin with. Secondly, it actually left a stickiness on my skin which was not pleasant and made any foundation go on badly. There isn't really much to say about this other than, not only did it not control oil, but it wasn't even a good moisturizer in general. Definitely will not be buying again! I'll stick with my decleor for now!
I got so excited about this palette when it was launced and couldn't wait for it to be released. First of, it's so pretty to look at, like the supermodel of the palette world lol. When I first put all the colours on I was so pleased with the outcome, it looked so flattering on me. However, as the day progresses, for some reason, it starts to look really unflattering. I don't know whether it's my oily skin type, causing the colours all to change, or whether seeing it in different lights changed the overall effect of the look. However, I still love it because it's just so pretty. I think I'll take mine out again when I get more of a tan because I think having a bit of colour on my face will help. Lastly, the glosses are sooo good in this, pity they won't last very long. The purply shimmer one is particularly gorgeous. They aren't at all sticky like the BB tube glosses, and the texture is really good. However, the lack of stickiness makes them very short wearing. Overall, a gorgeous palette which I constantly change my mind about.
