Conditioner -TRESemme - Split Remedy Conditioner
nataliecloud9 7/2/2012 1:28:00 AM
It seems by all of the reviews on MakeUpAlley for this product, that you either love it or hate it. I happen to love this product! It works very well on my hair; (long, thick, baby-fine texture, damaged, color-treated.) I have never tried Tresemme products before, and normally I buy professional shampoo/conditioner. However, I received a sample of this Split-Remedy shampoo/conditioner in the mail, and decided to try it. I liked it SO much, that I went to walmart the next day and bought it! It was only like $5.75 for a big bottle! The shampoo cleans and lathers so well. Just as good as any other salon brand! Maybe even better. Seriously. Then I went on to try the conditioner. It looked normal at first, but then when I worked it into the palm of my hand, it looked slightly like Elmer's Glue. I was hesitant. When I worked it into my hair, the texture was like applying a thick serum. Very different from what I'm used to. So needless to say, I was worried. However! The results are amazing! My hair air dries, and with this product I have no frizz, soft, silky, smooth hair. My hair is very shiny! It smells like heaven all day long. And best of all, I have noticed an immediate reduction of breakage, and my hair dye hasn't faded either. I am in LOVE

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Likas Papaya Soap

I originally purchased this soap to fade an ugly suntan line. It also removed all of my freckles from my skin too! And now it's been a year of using it daily. My skin doesn't get lighter because it has reached it's maximum lightness. (Basically the pale shade I was as a kid.) The stinging sensation doesn't happen anymore either. I think because my skin is used to it now. However I continue to use this soap daily, because my skin breaks out if I don't I get worse acne now then I did in my teens. And this is the ONLY soap that keeps my acne 99% away.

Hair Color -Clairol - Nice n' Easy Foam
nataliecloud9 6/13/2012 11:03:00 PM
I discovered this dye, (4 Dark Brown) on a YouTube review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6TqBjgiKRs This is a good dark brown color. It is dark, but still "brown" - not black. Also it is a neutral brown, and not warm/brassy - so it works with my cool skin tone. I have a few stubborn white hairs in the front, that can be tough to cover, but I got 100% grey coverage with this product. There is absolutely no color fading, even though I wash my hair daily! (And my shampoo isn't for colored hair.) I see what people mean about it being messy and easily splashing. The foam is so light and fluffy and spatters easily, so this was the messiest color application I've ever experienced. You really need to be careful :S Other then the mess, I actually prefer foam and mousse colors now. They make application so much easier, faster and the results are better. I will repurchase this, if they are sold out of Garnier - Nutrisse Mousse in Dark Intense Brown. That one is my absolute favorite.

Gels/Soaps -Dr. Bronner's - Almond Castille Soap
nataliecloud9 6/6/2012 4:26:00 AM
I just started using Dr. Bronner's Almond Castille Soap, and I wish I had known about it a long time ago! I chose to go with the Almond one because Almond oil has great skin benefits. Since I heard you should dilute it... I had an empty Dial foaming soap dispenser, and I poured just enough soap in, (about 2 squirts,) to cover the bottom. Then I topped it up with bottled water. It works amazingly perfect! It foams up even better than the dial soap did. I tried it as a shampoo, since I read a review that it faded someones color - and that is exactly what I want to do... fade out my ends which turned black from hair dye. I love it as a shampoo personally :D I also didn't experience any tangles because I worked it into my hair very gently. This product is going to last so long, and I'm going to be saving money and being better for my health. I'm so happy!!! (I also heard people use this soap to make natural household cleaning products, and I can't wait to try that either.)

Treatments -LUSH - Henna-Caca Brun
nataliecloud9 6/5/2012 11:00:00 PM
I LOVED this product. Especially because I *assumed* I was using a healthy alternative to drugstore hair dye. That was until I discovered these 2 websites: www.goodguide.com http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/ It turns out LUSH Caca Hennas are rated pretty much just as BAD for your health as most of the drugstore hair dyes!! (See for yourself! Just search and compare on the websites.) So LUSH must have some undisclosed, chemicals or ingredients hidden inside :( It figures... Because no where on the package do they claim Caca is 100% natural. So be warned... If you are going to use this product strictly to be more health conscience, you are better off buying henna powder and doing it that way because THIS IS NOT CHEMICAL FREE!

Other -Unlisted Brand - Braun Epilator
nataliecloud9 4/23/2012 7:59:00 PM
Silk-épil is a good epilator, if this is the route you chose for hair removal. It has been my method for the past year. But today was the last straw! (I'll tell you why, read on..) I've decided to stop using this and switch to hair removal cream. People.. Be Warned! After my experience with epiliating for a year straight, I ended up with massive, unsightly, ingrown hairs all over my legs! They caused infections... Huge red bumps... And scars...My legs look HORRIBLE :( I had to use tweezers to *painfully,* squeeze out the ingrown hair. It is a faint-worthy process :( For the really bad ones, I had to have them professionally extracted. Today I had to deal with a massive in grown hair that I was finally able to extract, and I almost passed out. So that is why I'm throwing in the towel with epilating. So seriously, if you are going to use this... EXFOLIATE! (I thought I exfoliated really good, since I scrub so hard my skin goes red, but obviously not good enough.) Expilating doesn't have the exfoliating effect that shaving, waxing and hair removal creams have, so you are prone to ingrown hairs.

Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Veet - Hair Removal Creame - Sensitive Formula
nataliecloud9 4/16/2012 3:35:00 AM
I was scared to try this but I was; sick of shaving, cant handle waxing pain, epilators give me nasty ingrown hairs... And I needed an alternative method for hair removal cream over my 5 month old C-Section scar. (Since the C-Section scar keloided, it is impossible to shave over it without cutting myself *eek!*) But I did a lot of research and read many reviews, and decided to try hair removal cream. I went with Veet because I never heard it caused pain like a lot of Nair reviews I read. I still didn't want to risk having any pain, so I decided to get my skin used to it slowly. So for a few days I put it on for 3 minutes, and then I wiped it off. After my shower, I used my towel to buff off the rest of hairs that the scraper didn't get. My legs and arms were flawless and SO SOFT. (I even took the risk of applying it to my entire bikini area and C-Section scar, and it worked amazing! But it did sting on one spot for an hour after the first time. But now it doesn`t sting and is the only way I have been able to remove hair from my C-Section scar.) **TIP** One thing I learned from another reviewer, is to apply hair removal cream on DAMP SKIN. And it really makes ALL the difference. (I tried it on dry skin as well, with not as great of results.) So what I do now is have a bath, and then towel dry my legs, and then apply the hair removal cream. The other major benefit to this product, is that it exfoliates! My legs have never felt smoother, and the ingrown hairs I developed from epilating are going away too. Also, the last coolest thing I`ve recently learned about this product is that it is only rated a "6" on the Skin Deep® Cosmetic Database: http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/product/242291/Veet_Hair_Removal_Gel_Cream%2C_Sensitive_Formula/ And the shaving cream I used was worse for me, and rated an "8!" http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/product/25771/Skintimate_Moisturizing_Shave_Gel%2C_Soothing_Lavender/ I would have thought chemicals that could burn your hair off would be worse for you than the chemicals in shaving cream, but I was wrong! My shaving cream is worse for me. PS. I highly recommend the site Skin Deep® Cosmetic Database, if you don`t want to kill yourself just to look pretty. (I always try to find a lower risk product.)

Hair Color -Garnier - Nutrisse Mousse
nataliecloud9 4/10/2012 7:48:00 PM
I was using Nutrisse 'Cream' before, which I loved. But I switched over to Nutrisse 'Mousse' in the same color, (#3 Intense Dark Brown.) I love this color so much. It`s the only almost black color that still has the brown sheen to it. No red. No brass. Perfect. The mousse texture is so amazing! It spreads soooo easily through your hair. I was able to apply it super fast and evenly, so there are no patches. The conditioner is also way better than the one that comes with the cream. *** Don`t shake the bottle when mixing! I almost shock the bottle to mix the color and developer though. Apparently it might explode if you shake it, so don't shake the bottle and you'll be good :) **** This product was rated a high 8 on the Skin Deep® Cosmetic Database, so I won`t be repurchasing, as I have decided to take better care of my body and avoid chemicals. I am going to use LUSH caca Noir instead.

Hair Color -Garnier - Nutrisse Permanent Creme Hair Color
nataliecloud9 3/7/2012 6:52:00 PM
I was using semi-permanents like Natural Instincts and Garnier Herbashine, (in Dark Brown #400.) But, I couldn't stand the fading and the grey hair being lighter. And also, Herbashine damaged my hair VERY badly. My hair was breaking off into tiny pieces while I was washing out. So I figured if I'm going to be damaging my hair regardless, it may as well be with a permanent color. After reading reviews and seeing a tutorial by SMLxo on YouTube, I decided to try tried Nutrisse Creme. I used Intense Dark Brown #30. At first I noticed it didn't damage my hair as bad as the Semi permanent. Weird. For the first few days my hair was nearly jet black. but after washing it a few times it became this gorgeous dark brown chocolately color. I'm thrilled with the color and I think I found 'my' color. I am re-doing my re-growth with this tonight again.

Toners -Unlisted Brand - Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar
nataliecloud9 3/7/2012 6:36:00 PM
I tried to use this as a facial toner, (diluted with water,) but it was a disaster! I thought it would help control oil and acne, but all it did was add dry flaky skin on top of all the oil. Not to mention how it absolutely reeks like sour, stinky feet! And the smell lingers all day! I was too embarrassed to leave the house. I was really hoping this would work, but am left disappointed.
