I tried my friend's matte black and it smudged terribly. So when we dropped by MUFE, i still wanted an aqua eyes liner but definitely not black. I got the gold shade and whoa, i definitely struck gold (no pun intended lol)! It didn't smudge, it was long-lasting, it's waterproof. I use it to line my lower eyelid, highlight my inner V and just to open up my eyes. :-D Wouldn't repurchase though since i discovered their eye sealant. ;-)
I'd never thought i could pull off liquid liners. I'm more of a pencil liner gal so when the MUA in my local Revlon counter recommended it, i wasn't that stoked; this was more of an impulsive purchase. Yet i was impressed the first time i used it... it was easy to use, it didn't smudge, it looked natural on my lashline. It lasted through tears, sweat, oily lids..lol definitely a keeper! :-D
Don't judge a book by its cover. It may be cheap but this really delivers: it gives my lashes the volume it needs, it separates, it doesn't make my lashes clump. This is a keeper for those normal, doing-chores days. I layer it with Maybelline's Volume Express for night-outs and it definitely stops traffic. :-D
Given that im fair and scared of bronzer-tanning stuff, i tried this since it was on a 60% sale and it wouldn't hurt *i think*..and i didn't regret it. It gave me that sunkissed glow w/o the dreaded orange, muddy look. I also use it to contour my face. It has slight shimmer and it wasn't an in-your-face kind of bronze glow. :)
This has an MLBB shade, a deep rosey mauve. I love, love the color since I can switch it up for day and night and it brightens up my complexion. :D My natural lip color borders on the rose/mauve by the way. :)) I'd like to try the shade V.I.P though if I can find the time to pass by the store again (after final exams!! haha). :D
My HG red liquid lipstick. :) Some say it's a gloss but I'd rather call it a liquid lipstick since, one, it doesn't give off that patented, glossy shine and, two, it is highly pigmented (which isn't that partial to most glosses, drugstore-wise). It shows up as a reddish fuschia color on my lips (my natural lip color is slightly mauve) and I mostly use it to special events at night. I occasionally use it in school too to give me that burst of color and conceals the all-nighter effects on my face (haha). I bought this at around Php150-Php200 at a Multiply online seller (Rimmel is non-existent in the Philippines) so that's equivalent to around $3-$4...not bad for a rare red lipstick find (well, if you live here :p).
Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Expertwear Eyeshadow Quad in Velvet Crush
namooshie 1/12/2009 10:02:00 PM
If only it wasn't that cheap for a quad, I wouldn't buy this --- but i haven't thought about that until i first used it. First of all, it is not pigmented. The only pigmented part is the purplish-gray on the bottom right of the quad, which makes a subtle smokey eye. I have a warm skin tone (they say it's for cool skin tones) but it shows up fine, without looking ashy. This is definitely more of a highlighter (when putting shadows) than an eyeshadow itself. The packaging is fine cause it matches its price tag. It doesn't irritate my eyes too. I won't repurchase by the way no matter how Multiply online stores sell this stuff at dirt-cheap prices (got mine at Php120 = $2-$3).
As the name goes, it does give me shine, which can be compared to a lip gloss. It may not work well for everyone but it did for me. :) I have bought mine in the shade Sugar Berry, a peachy-pink with slight shimmer and gold undertones, and it is the ever loyal partner of smoky, heavily shadowed eyes. ;) It comes in a silver casing (not the pink one pictured above) so it looks classy without breaking the bank. The price is OK, about Php300 (this comes with taxes and store profits since I live in the Philippines) = $6 but the color doesn't really last long within the day (so I take one lippie off). I'll repurchase if they decide to come up with new colors (the other colors don't really appeal much to me). :)
This is way better than my Benefit's Benetint Lip Balm. :D This practically never goes out of my beauty kit and I technically use it everyday, everytime. It's perfect for school, church, parties, hanging out. I don't think I can dare to wear red lipstick so this is my fool-proof way of using "red lipsticks". It gives a nice red sheen that compliments my skin tone plus it has a fruity scent and taste. I hope they don't discontinue this! :)
Two words: GREAT MULTI-TASKER. I'm always in a rush during weekdays so there are times when I just don't have time to do my face. I just use this and it does all the stuff that my other products would do: *It evens out my skin tone. *It moisturizes. *It protects (SPF 25). *It can double as liquid foundation but with light coverage, so it's perfect for daytime. I'm definitely buying this again (if I could just save up..haha)!
I was really excited about this one since it's way cheaper than the Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes (a really good waterproof eyeliner). Now, I regret it that I even took the slightest interest in it. I didn't like the packaging since I don't know where to sharpen it or even just to pop the whole thing out. I had to minimize its usage so the visible tip would last long. It smudged easily cause of its consistency (clay-ish) but it is REALLY waterproof. I think that's the only good thing about it. :( (and, um, the price..haha) I wouldn't buy this again so I recently transferred to Revlon ColorStay. I haven't used it yet but when I do, I'll post a review right away. :)
I love that it goes on with a touch of color so I don't have to apply lipstick before applying it. I bought mine in a shade of Cherry Truffle and it's good for both daytime and night outs. I love that it tastes 'fruity' (as what its name suggests) and it lasts long during the day. Its consistency is somewhat thick so it's a little sticky. It's drugstore-cheap so I'm definitely buying another one this week or the next. Hmm, maybe a peach-y color would do.. :)
I love putting lip products with a minty flavor and when I tried this, I took the chance and never looked back! :p I bought the shade in Pink It Over and it's really good when applied over pink-colored lipsticks. When applied over my mint-flavored Blistex, it keeps me awake during a hectic school day and it never fails to brighten my mood. :) I love its size since it can fit in my jeans pocket so I can do touch-ups anytime.
Eye Shadow -Smashbox - Eye Shadow Quad in Modella-Tokidoki LE

I absolutely love the shimmer of the first three colors of the quad. It's excellent for highlighting a boring eyeshadow color and it wakes up my eyes, especially during school days. :p The chocolate-colored part of the quad is not really obvious when worn alone so you have to layer it with another shadow (of the same color or not). I love, love the container! It certainly has a playful appeal that makes you want to play with make-up all day long! :p
Lip Gloss -Nivea - Nivea Lipcare Caregloss and Shine
namooshie 4/18/2008 11:03:00 AM
First of all, I didn't purchase this. =)) I got this from my best friend cause she wanted my lip pot from The Body Shop, so we sort of traded. I can't thank her enough for choosing that to trade with me..haha :p I absolutely love the color (Mocha). I'm partial to nude colors (and a flawless face, even if it's really hard to achieve one) and this lip gloss passed my 'standards'. It wasn't too sticky and it went on smoothly. The whole thing is fuss-free and unpretentious. The container made it look like a lip treatment prescribed by your doctor, rather than a pretty gloss, nonetheless I always bring it with me for quick touch-ups. I might buy this again if it runs out and I might try the pink color, which everyone's raving about. :)
