Bath Treatments -LUSH - Amandopondo bubble bar
naicha 5/19/2013 4:39:00 PM
I am a big baths person, and Amandopondo is one of my favourite products if I want a good soak. It has a very faint, creamy scent which I like as I often find Lush bath products overbearing in terms of fragrance. I creates TONS of bubbles - I acutally break a single bar into 6 little chunks and still find I get enough bubble action. Breaking it up also softens the blow of Lush's rather steep prices. Overall, definitely a bath time winner for me that leaves my skin feeling really soft, too.

Cleansers -La Roche Posay - Toleriane Softening Foaming Gel
naicha 12/29/2012 8:56:00 AM
I really like La Roche Posay's Toleriane moisturser so I figured I would try the matching cleanser. Some people find that this leaves a film on their skin but I have had no problems with it - I will say however that straight out of tube the gel consistency is a little goopy and almost sticks to the skin so I highly suggest really working this into a lather BEFORE putting it on your face. That way, I find it rinses clean. A real bonus with this product that other 'mild' cleansers often lack is that it gets my mascara off without a trace yet does not dry my skin out; in fact, my face feels really soft after using it.

Fragrances -Kiehls - Vanilla & Cedarwood
naicha 12/24/2012 5:40:00 PM
I love the combination of feminine vanilla and masculine cedarwood - when I first spray it, it is quite strong and sharp, almost like a men's cologne, but after about 10 minutes the warmth and sweetness of the vanilla comes out, softening the woodsy notes really nicely. Definitely not a complex scent, but one that I keep spraying, especially during the colder months. I expected this to have very little staying power, but I can still smell it after 5-6 hours. Tempted to buy it once my sample runs out.

Candles -Bath and Body Works - Snowed In
naicha 12/23/2012 7:50:00 PM
I agree, this has a slightly cologne-y smell, but it's not too masculine - to me it smells like coming home to a wooden cabin a cold winter day. Definitely a seasonal scent that is more on the fresh side and a nice change from all the vanilla / cinnamon / nutmeg-based candles, but one that has warmth and sweetness to it, too, so I think this would be a hit with both men AND women. Really relaxing and calming.

Candles -Bath and Body Works - Marshmallow Fireside
naicha 12/23/2012 7:39:00 PM
Now I didn't grow up roasting marshmallows by the fire so I can't comment on how authentic the smell is, but I LOVE it. It combines creamy vanilla with woody, almost masculine notes, which I love - a warm, comforting and not too girly scent that is perfect for the colder months. So happy I picked this up in the 2 for 20 sale!

Blush -E.L.F. - All Over Color Stick - Persimmon
naicha 12/23/2012 7:32:00 PM
People don't seem to be too fond of this product, but I really do like it! I wear this as a highlighter on my cheekbones and in the inner corners of my eyes - the colour is similar to Benefit's Highbeam, a pinkish silver / champagne, however I find this a lot easier to apply and more sutble than Benefits offering, which is a good thing as Highbeam is too stark and sparkly for me. For 1 Dollar, I would definitely pick this up again!

Lotions/ Creams -LUSH - Smitten

This smells sooo good! Definitely one of my favourite lush products. It sinks in fast, leaves your hands really soft and smells like marzipan. I can't fault it.

Polishes -Essie - Sugar Daddy
naicha 6/11/2012 10:37:00 AM
Sugar Daddy goes on extremely sheer, so if you're looking for opaque colour payoff, this won't be for you. While it appears quite pink in the bottle, it leaves little more than the faintest hint of rosé on your nails. Initial disappointment in terms of colour aside, this does not streak at all and looks good no matter how sloppy your application.

Love these - I own Block Orange, Coral and Mint Green and all three are super easy to apply, opaque in two coats and never streaky.

Blush -Bobbi Brown - Raspberry Pot Rouge
naicha 5/29/2012 5:56:00 PM
This is Benetint in cream form - I love a good stain but on days where my cheeks may feel dry and make a liquid formula go on patchy, Raspberry Pot Rouge saves the day. I love the colour - universally flattering, it makes you look like you've just had a workout, healthy and fresh. Compared to my other cream blushes, Bobbi Brown's formula is quite hard and ever so slightly sticky so after using it with my fingers a couple of times I opted for a dense mini-kabuki to buff it into my cheeks - LOVING the results. Buffing it in rather than dabbing it on takes away the slight tackiness and gives you that airbrushed, lit-from-within glow. My only gripe is that Bobbi Brown changed the packaging and are now charging the same price for a significantly reduced amount of product - otherwise, this would get 5 stars from me.

Blush -Too Faced - Full Bloom Cheek & Lip Creme Color in Tea Rose
naicha 5/29/2012 5:31:00 PM
I never thought I would fall for a colour like this but I am in love with it! I usually go for much brighter and more vibrant hues so Tea Rose, a muted, dusky rose, seemed a bit 'meh' in the pan. Fancying a change I still picked it up and I am so glad i did! I find that the tan undertones really warm up my complexion while the rose still adds a subtle flush to the cheeks. It has a really smooth, non-tacky texture that is easy to apply and blend, without any tugging. I was worried that Tea Rose would not show up on me, but it has great pigmentation and staying power. I would definitely give it 5 stars if it wasn't for the hefty price tag.

Fragrances -Kenzo - Flower
naicha 3/21/2012 12:51:00 PM
After wearing Kenzo's now discontinued L'eau Indigo for years, I turned to this in search for a replacement. I had smelled and really liked it on others, but for some reason never considered it for myself. Kenzo Flower is a powdery scent with a very subtle hint of vanilla, but also has notes of wood and inscense which add a really interesting, almost masculine twist to it. To me, the combination is soft yet edgy at the same time, really intriguing. I find that Flower starts out quite sharp, but after a couple of minutes it developes a warmth that really makes me want to finally get my own bottle.

Powder -Kanebo - KATE Powder Foundation (Transial Pact)
naicha 3/19/2012 5:17:00 PM
I was really impressed with this powder foundation - I picked it up because even though I am Caucasian, I have very strong yellow undertones in my skin and a lot of Western brands can pull orange on me. OC-B is a perfect match for my pale winter skin. The texture is amazing - super smooth and finely milled, it keeps my complexion looking matte and even for a good 6 hours. Rather than using the sponge that comes with it, I apply this with a kabuki brush which I find gives a more natural, airbrushed finish but still provides good coverage. I think I am going to get another one of these in a darker shade for summer :)

Blush -TopShop - Cream Blush - All
naicha 12/26/2011 2:00:00 AM
I own this Pinch, a bright hot pink. This particular shade looks amazing with a tan or layered over bronzer, it really brightens your complexion and makes you look alive and healthy. The formula has a lot of slip and is easy to blend, then dries to a velvelty-powdery finish. Bonus points for the packaging - it is slim and compact so you can pop it into even the tiniest bag, and the mirror means you can reapply on the go. The only downside is that this blush will stick to any dry patches you may have so make sure your cheeks are well moisturized.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Honey I Washed the Kids soap
naicha 12/23/2011 11:41:00 PM
I don't get the hype - this leaves my skin feeling super stripped, not smooth or soft at all. Yes, the smell is divine, but for me, it completely fails as a body wash. Glad I got to try it before wasting my money on a full size chunk.
