I LOVE this blush...and I own ALOT of blushes from low to high end. THE GOOD: -Cheap -Gives that girly pink glow to your face with a touch of mauve -Very pigmented -Cute and efficient packaging -Texture is soft and nearly as good as MAC's blushes...close to "Coygirl" in my opinion. THE BAD: -It is abit matte. Can make your cheeks look dull or aged if you apply it too thickly. At least it does to mine, if I cake it on. I Would Buy This Again!
Pros: It gives me a very matte honey-beige color to my cheeks. I love the way it looks, especially for work days. This looks especially good during summer months when my skin gets considerably tanned. The staying power is very good. It lasted on my cheeks for an entire day and that's a pretty big feat, since I have oily skin. The price is great...cheap. Under ten bucks. The packaging is cute, in my opinion. A little shiny black compact. Cons: I've been known to pack it on and look abit streakish...since it is very pigmented. Come to think of it, that's a good thing. I just need to figure out how to apply subtly and work on my blush application skills. I would buy this product again!
Pros: It gives my cheeks (NC40) a very faint peachy GLOW. It looks very natural and girly for me. It makes me feel and look abit younger. This reminds me of what i wanted Benefit's Georgia blush to look like on me. There's no shimmer to this blush. Just gives that faint tint to skin with finely milled particles. Very very smooth and soft. Feels luxuriant on the skin. Cons: You have to be very careful when dipping your blush brush into it. Most of the time, i'm in a rush and I have to force myself to be ginger while handling this blush. Don't drop it either...since the packaging is quite a cheap-looking plasticky thingy. For 22 bucks, you'd think you can get better sturdier container than that! Nonetheless, the blush is gorgeous and will buy it again
Lip Gloss -Etude - vita glam lipgloss - with collagen
nagarpoe 5/30/2008 6:09:00 PM
I love these lipglosses. I bought 6 of them at a small chinese plaza, where they were selling them for 2 tubes for five bucks. I couldn't believe it so i got all the colors they had. The shine is incredibly subtle, yet had that nice sparkly glimmer to the gloss. Makes my wrinkly lips look alot younger. It's not uber sticky either. Not like Mac's. They do remind me of MAC's dazzleglasses....which is the only reason i haven't bought any of MAC's dazzleglasses. The lasting power is not that great, about an hour or so....but that may be because I do alot with my lips. I would definitely repurchase.
The Bad: * The packaging could have been a little bigger to give abit more product. The smaller/shorter wand length/cap length makes my application abit clumsy, I find. * The gel does work but only if the brow hairs are pretty trimmed. I do have some brow hairs that go in different directions and the gel doesn't really direct and HOLD the hairs in the direction that I want them to. * I wouldn't buy this again. I already have eyebrow wax but i wanted to get a clear gel that would give me a neat look if i was rushing out of the door.
The Bad: This mascara (in brown) makes my eyes water and itch for some reason. It also doesn't stay on my lashes and I get smudges on my lower eye area. It clumps so easily!! The brush is responsible for it, i think. It just doesn't look like it's designed to seperate/define lashes like the Maybelline's Define-a-Lash wand. The Good: I like the color, it has that deep chocolate brown...it's pretty pigmented. It did curl up my lashes a tiny bit without having to use an eye lash curler (not by much but even a little is great for my straight asian lashes). I wouldn't buy this again.
Color & Shine: It has a unique natural shine and color to it. A sheen of beigy pink on my lips. Texture & Staying Power: There's no waxy feel to it. It almost feels very liquidy...maybe, due to this, the staying power is about two hours on my lips TOPS. Smell: There's a sweet strawberry smell to the gloss...other people might find this annoying but I love it. Everytime i put it on, it makes me feel good and puts me in a better mood. Noticeability: I always get compliments on my lips when i wear this and I wear this alot at work lately, eventhough there are a ton of lipglosses i leave around at work. Still, I still will buy it again since the price is right for the color and sheen.
Mascara -Shiseido - The Makeup Mascara Base [DISCONTINUED]
nagarpoe 2/26/2008 7:09:00 PM
I really wanted to like this product...alot!! I have the Smashbox primer (which i got for free from a friend) and KATE's primer as well. But after reading so many good things about this primer, I had to try it. It really makes no difference on my lashes. It goes on clearer than the other two and needs less mascara to coat over the lashes than the other two primers but then, the other two primers gave me more volume and length, especially KATE's primer. As for the curl, after I curl my lashes, I apply this right away but the curl isn't held like the other reviewers have said. After a few hours, only a slight bend is held. This may be due to my straight lashes but Lashuva (spelling?)'s 15x waterproof mascara can keep my straight lashes super curled throughout the day without this primer. I wouldn't buy this primer again.
This review is for BAKED highlighters from the Brand "Clio". I've never heard or seen this brand before. The SA told me that it's made in italy but the outer packaging has korean words on it, so, I'm not sure if it's a korean brand made in Italy or an italian brand. The pigments are abit grainy and not as fine as MAC MSFs (at least some of MACs, such as lightscapade). However, the effect is quite close to MAC's. The price is high for me. It's at $48 bucks a pop. what made me buy was the packaging. It had the look of a graffiti/artsy print on the compact. I have the peachy color and am thinking about buying the pink one too.
I believe this is a korean brand. "Castle Dew". I found this by chance near the cash registers at a Korean World Market in Diamond Bar, California. The makeup counter has other brands such as SK II, IPKN, Kanebo, Laneige, Clio (another cool find), and etc. This review is for the CastleDew eye shadows. So far, I've tried 8 of them, and I love all their colors. They're sparkly yet very highly pigmented. They're sheer and sparkly but very pigmented...sheer and opaque at the same time. Dewy is the word to describe them. Not overly sparkly/gittery. The pigments definitely have multi-colors to them. The shadows give a multi-color sheen when applied. One night, I fell asleep with the eye shadow on without having any UDPP underneath and there were still pigment on eye lids when i woke up the next morning. The packaging is sturdy for being plastic. I've dropped a couple of shadows a couple of times onto my hardwood floors and no chipping of the shadows or the boxes have occurred. They're around $16-18 per shadow...so, they're expensive (probably because the store marks up alot). But it's so pretty, I keep going back for more. Definitely will be going back for more shadows. Their chartreuse green shadow, purple, and pink (various shades) shadows are very recommended!!
Skincare - Face -Desert Essence - Tea Tree Oil Facial Cleansing Pads
nagarpoe 8/20/2007 1:55:00 PM
I have to stress that this product is not for the smell sensitive. It most of the time chokes the living daylights out of me when I apply it. BUT, so many people have complimented on how clear my skin is. I also think that it has made the texture of skin much better and smoother. I ALWAYS have pimples on my face and since I'm entering my thirties, I really don't want to deal with pimples anymore and the last month of my life has been almost pimple free. When pimples do come up, daily swipings of this product usually take care of them. Hate the suffocation from fumes, LOVE the results. Will buy again. They say no pain, no gain.
Masks -Lumene - Vitamin+ Radiant C-Energy 5 min Mask
nagarpoe 7/23/2007 5:18:00 AM
This product didn't really do anything for me. I did feel a nice tingly feeling on my face after I applied it, but in terms, of visible differences, I didn't see anything different I would not buy this again.
Blush -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish in Northern Light
nagarpoe 7/23/2007 12:33:00 AM
I've never tried or have any other mineral skin finishes before so, I'm not sure if Nothern Light is an inferior product, compared to the previous MSFs. I'm new to this MSF concept so, I was skeptical at first..until I tried Northern Light this weekend. I was very impressed with the light sheen it left on my cheeks...I've never seen anything like it! It's so beautiful...I just couldn't stop staring at it. The application went on so smoothly and well....there's no glitter as previous reviews have mentioned in mine, though. There is no visible glitter. Just a beautiful soft glow. I'm going to try the other two; Gold Spill and Global Glow. I just hope they're as good as Northern Light!
Eyeliner -Kanebo - TIFFA Liquid Eyeliner Black and Gold
nagarpoe 7/15/2007 11:50:00 PM
I'd definitely buy these liners! It has a relatively good lasting power. I just love the way they look...It allows me to make that perfect cat eye look, even with unsteady hands. Note: When i first opened the gold liner, i didn't realize that you have to lock down the two parts before you start "turning" the bottom to get the product out, and (aahhh!) I squirted out maybe 1/3 of the product!! The packaging is filmsy. I will definitely buy again!
Foundations -Clarins - teint fondant Soft touch rich compact foundation
nagarpoe 7/15/2007 11:46:00 PM
I have oily skin usually but this product made my skin very tight and flakey! My fine lines around my eyes and mouth were emphasized! I will not buy this product
