Bronzers -Tarte - Park Avenue Princess
rated 5 of 5

This is an excellent bronzer. It's a nice warm terracotta brown with no shimmer. It is also matte which is a big plus. It glides on evenly and never goes orange. The pan is also pretty large. I've been using mine for close to a year and there is barely a dip in the center. The compact itself is typical to tarte, covered cardboard, but it is rather thick cardboard so it's help up pretty well. However if you do pan to carry this in a purse, you might have an issue.

Eyeliner -Sephora - Flashy liner waterproof Taupe
rated 5 of 5

I really like these liners. They are comparable to UD 24/7 in my opinion. They glide on and last all day. And for $8 who can say no. This color is a really pretty shimmery cool taupe. I thought it would be similar to UD Underground but it is cooler and slightly darker. It’s the perfect color to reach for daily.

Lip Gloss -Clarins - Instant Light Lip Perfector - Rose Shimmer
rated 5 of 5

I absolutely love this gloss. Well to be honest it is more of a gloss balm. The color is really sheer however my lips aren't very pigmented so it just adds a very subtle pink glow. It makes my lips appear smoother and the tiniest bit plumper. It lasts a fair amount of time and isn't tacky. The scent is nice a subtle vanilla. It isn't cheap by any means, but there is a good amount of product in the tube. I would however suggest trying this before you buy if you can since it really doesn't provide much of a tint so it may not be what you are looking for.

Lipstick -TheBalm - Read My Lips lipstick in Classified
rated 4 of 5
nLkky 6/19/2009 2:17:00 PM

This color is a beautiful sheer neutral (leaning towards cool) light pinky nude.. Wow that was a mouthful... Anyway the color is lovely. It applies nicely and lasts pretty long considering it is a sheer lipstick. It is also quite moisturizing. There is a faint sweet vanilla-y smell but nothing really off putting, at least to me. I also love the fact that I can put this on without a mirror since it is pretty sheer. The only problem I do have with this lipstick is the packaging. The cardboard news print retro looking tube is cute, but gets banged up easily being in my purse. The bullet also gets wobbly after a few uses which annoys me, so you have to be somewhat careful when applying or you will risk snapping the bullet from the base. You’d think for $17 the packaging would be better??, but I love the color so I will suck it up. If most nude lip colors make you look like death, I highly suggest you check this color out.

Lipstick -Revlon - Renewist Lipcolor in Heartwarming Pink [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
nLkky 2/18/2009 1:44:00 PM

I’m a huge fan of moisturizing lipsticks, and this is one of my favorites. The lipstick glides on but isn’t overly slippery like some. It lasts fairly long considering it has a moisture core. It also doesn’t dry out my lips like a lot of moisturizing lipsticks do. The packaging is decent. It is a clear tube a lot like Shu where you can see the entire bullet, but along the front there is a raised frosted/rubberized Revlon logo. The logo has to line up in order to close which is a bit annoying, but not enough to make me not want to use it or purchase other colors. The color itself is very pretty. It is a nice sheer neutral medium pink. It reminds me of the color of Laura Mercier baby lips if only a bit more pigmented. It is a nice subtle pop of color that brightens my overall look. I picked it up for less than $3 on clearance which is an excellent deal, but I will be sad if they don’t bring this line back. *crosses fingers that they are just repackaging*

Lip Gloss -Bare Escentuals - Buxom in Sandy
rated 5 of 5
nLkky 2/18/2009 1:39:00 PM

I *love* this gloss. I pride myself on being a lipstick girl, but I may be a convert. Buxom glosses are great. They apply evenly, come in beautiful colors, and feel great on your lips. I hate when lipglosses are too sticky/tacky or slippery/greasy, but Buxom right in the middle. They are also pretty long lasting considering it is a lipgloss. They are supposed to be plumping glosses but I really can’t see a difference. They do however make my lips look smoother and glossy which may give off the illusion of a fuller lip. Also there is no stinging or numbing of the lips. There is a slight cool sensation, but nothing over the top like some glosses. They are a bit expensive, but you get a ton of product for your money. Sandy is a *sheer* light pinkish nude with slight shimmer. This color is only available in a mini size for now (in the Earthy Chic Collection), but I'm sure BE will release a full size as I can see this shade being a best seller. Olive yellow LLL with dark brown hair and eyes.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Coralista
rated 5 of 5
nLkky 2/16/2009 2:08:00 PM

I like Benefits more pigmented boxes of powder, Coralista being one of them. Coralista is a slightly shimmery pinkish coral color (more coral than pink). It is what I wanted Nars Orgasm to be, a pretty pop of coral (not just gold shimmer). The powder applies evenly with just one stroke and I don’t need to layer as I do with some sheer blushes. I do wish the blush would last longer but I think that is due to it’s sheer nature. I think applied over a cream blush it would last all day. I would take a lipstick off for that, but since this intended to be a face brightening powder and not a blush per say I wont. The packaging is cute, but not everyone’s cup of tea, but I think the color is nice enough that it would be worth it to ignore if the box wasn’t exactly for you. It is metallic and animal print at the same time so it is over the top, but not hideous in my opinion. There is a slight sent so those with sensitivity to that might want to pass. I don’t notice it really and it fades away shortly after application. It also comes with a small scratchy brush that I tossed immediately. The price is a bit steep but since you really don’t need much for each application it will last you a long time. Check it out at Sephora or you local Benefit counter if you are not sure it is for you.

The logo has to line up in order to close which is a bit annoying ,but not enough to make me not want to use it or purchase other colors. The color itself is very pretty. It is a nice sheer true nude (not to orange or brown) color similar to MAC Hug Me but with less pink undertones. It may be a bit to warm for those with cool undertones, but it should be perfect for those with warm-neutral coloring. I picked it up for less than $3 on clearance which is an excellent deal, but I will be sad if they don’t bring this line back. *crosses fingers that they are just repackaging*

Concealers -Make Up For Ever - Extreme Camouflage Cream
rated 4 of 5
nLkky 1/28/2009 5:31:00 PM

This is my current favorite concealer. It does a fantastic job at covering the redness I have on my nose as well as my under eye circles. The formula is thick and quite opaque so you only need a tiny bit to cover a decent sized area. There is also a good range of colors to chose from to find your match. I would give this item 5 lipsticks if it didn’t crease under my eyes but I do realize it is to be expected with a full coverage heavy duty concealer. I do however love the fact that it lasts all day in covering my redness. Once I set it with powder it wears like iron. I do understand that some people would be put off by the $30 price tag, but trust me the tube lasts forever. I seriously have been using the same tube for close to a year, and there is a ton left! If you need a long lasting full coverage concealer this is for you!

Blush -Bare Escentuals - Applause
rated 4 of 5
nLkky 1/28/2009 4:29:00 PM

I’m not usually a fan of mineral blushes. I find them to be a pain to apply and for some reason they just don’t last as long as regular powder blushes for me. However I saw this color applied on a models cheeks and I had to have it. This color was Limited Edition with The Magical collection on QVC so it may be hard to find, but totally worth it in my opinion. The color itself is a light nude beige color with a hint of pink. I don’t notice any simmer, but it isn’t exactly matte either. I guess it would be considered satin finish? It did take me a couple of tries to get the application right with this one. At first I used too little, then too much. When I got the hang of it I was really pleased. What I do is apply some then finish my makeup application. For some reason it shows up on my skin more true to color a few minutes after application. Then from there I can judge if I need more or not. I do wish the color would last a bit longer on my cheeks, which is why I took away a lipstick, but it is worth it since I love the color. If you can get your hands on this color definitely don’t pass it up.

Eyeliner -Sally Hansen - Natural Beauty Inspired by Carmindy Always Perfect Liquid Eyeliner
rated 1 of 5
nLkky 1/27/2009 5:39:00 PM

ITCH! I have never had a reaction to a makeup product, ever. However this made my eyes itch so badly. I thought maybe it was something else I had used and tried it again the next day. Guess what? I had the same problem. It felt like something was scratching my upper waterlines. It really was awful. I was scratching away all day long at work. People thought there was something seriously wrong with me. I could not wait to get it home and wash this off. If your eyes are sensitive at all, I strongly suggest you pass on this product! You will be miserable, trust me. Also the liner was not that great to begin with. The formula was way to runny and the brush is not as thin or stiff as I would have liked. The color teak brown is really pretty, but definitely not worth the pain.

Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Gel Eyeliner Sapphire Shimmer
rated 5 of 5
nLkky 12/26/2008 3:26:00 PM

I am a self-proclaimed black eyeliner girl, I use it everyday. For years I’ve been reading how Navy liner makes brown eyes pop so I figured I’d give this a shot. I’m so glad I did. I LOVE this liner! It really does make my eye color stand out. The color is a beautiful dark shimmery inky blue which does not look black on my lids. It stays true to the color in the pot. The color applies smoothly and evenly, and as with most gel liners once it sets, it wears like iron. The pots are small and it is a bit pricy, but you only need the tiniest bit so it lasts forever.

Blush -Sue Devitt - Koh Samui blush
rated 5 of 5
nLkky 4/10/2008 4:04:00 PM

I can’t believe I never reviewed Koh Samui since it is my absolute favorite blush. And coming from a blush junkie that is a big deal. I absolutely love this blush. In the pan it just looks like a light neutral pinky beige color with shimmer, but on the cheeks it is lovely. It gives me a beautiful glowy but completely natural and defined look. It is the perfect go with everything blush for me. It is good for an everyday look and it is also subtle enough to use in combination with a smokey eye. The formula of the blush is also amazing. It applies silky smooth, blends seamlessly and lasts all day. It also doesn’t oxidize and turn orangey during the course of the day. There is also a ton of blush for the $. I’ve used mine nearly 4 times a week for a year or so and I just reached pan. It is only the teeniest tiniest speck of pan showing too. Definitely don’t let pictures of this blush fool you, it is beautiful! My coloring: olive/yellow LLL with dark brown hair and eyes.

Blush -Lancome - Blush Subtil Shimmer - Shimmer Mocha Havana
rated 4 of 5
nLkky 4/10/2008 3:50:00 PM

This color is lovely in the compact. It is a medium rosy bronze with warm shimmer. However it just doesn’t work with my coloring. I think I may be to light for this particular shade because it ends up looking muddy on my cheeks regardless of how little I use. As with other Lancome blushes, Mocha Havana applies like silk and lasts all day. I really do wish this color would work on me because it is lovely. Definitely try this color before you buy if you are on the lighter end of the spectrum. My coloring is yellow/olive LLL with dark brown hair and eyes.
