First of all I have been blessed with good skin. Combination type but almost blemish free most of the time. I have been using the normal face brush I normally purchase from Shiseido, Body Shop,or manicare these past couple of years so black head is not a problem for me. But the "clean six times better" from the Clarisonic adv got to me. So I bought the Mia 2 yesterday and I have to say it bring the word 'clean' to a couple of levels above my routine these years. I noticed the change straight after ONE day (twice by the time I wrote this review). I woke up without the normal oily T-zone..but bright smooooooth skin. It is so noticable my young son touch my face and said "Mom...it is soooo smoooth". And kids don't lie! I am happy and will keep continue using this. Oh..and it is true what they say about how easy the skincare glide into the skin afterward. So I believe my skin has a better "digestion" now...
I have own many lipsticks but I have never own a Chanel. so I bought this Peach/coral base and beige with a hint of red (very slight) moisturising lipstick...from Chanel :) I regret my choice of colour as I have 2-3 similiar colour from MAC, Shiseido and Giorgio Armani shine. But I am not complaining the texture of this lipstick. It is supposedly worn on the Spring-Summer season, but I especially bought it for that emergency winter lippie when I still need to rush to pick up my son from school and forgotten my lipstick; when I don't have time to apply a separate lipbalm. The texture is more moisturising than the Dior shine. So this tube will always be in my bag this winter months. That being said, I wonder why most of us always buy similiar colour for our lipstick ;D On the side note: I compare this to the Revlon lip butter (the hype!). I try and retry and I have to say it is not the same. The application alone testify the difference between high-end lippie than drugstores. The colour is more even from Chanel and although Revlon's lip butter is not 'that' rough to apply, it is not that kind of sheer I am always after for this type of texture. Am I a fan for Chanel after one lipstick? mmm,,,maybe not. I still far prefer my YSL volupte range and Giorgio Armani's sheer. But I wouldnt mind buying Chanel again the next time a unique colour turn-up.
Lipstick -Revlon - Revlon Super Lustrous in Fire and Ice

IT may be a vintage colour for many. Some may even say it is a story by its own right. But for me I have never been a Revlon's fan. I do not like the taste and smell of their lips products and Revlon's packaging is not something I'd call award wining. Buuut...the Limited Edition vintage packaging isn't so bad, which is why when I found my 'love that pink' (a whole new review in that one) lipstick by chance, I also bought this Fire & Ice. Pure blue red on me...in some light it goes red pink on my NC20-25. I will not say that it is a favourite but this is definitely a handy lippies to own for days when true red is too much. I believe this colour turns out different depends on skin tone.
I have been using this for a week. I received a sample before I bought the full size. My skin is normal if a little on the dry side around the cheek. But I have occasional break out, especially when I overdo my hot yoga class. I noticed when I ran out on the sample of this serum (used the samples for 3 days) my skin lost its strength. Yes- it was 3 days of sampling this but my skin improved so much. I experienced no break out even after a strenuous class. My skin was not in its best condition when I decided to get the full size a week after the last drop, some rashes and dry cheek-but on second day of using it my skin was back to normal. Something in this serum tighten my pores instantly on the first use. At the moment I have been applying this under my day moisturiser and at night I only use this and the rosehip oil from Lily Loves Pearl. I will update in the next month or so. But it is one of the best new product I've tried in the past years.
Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous-- Love That Pink
mypsalms 8/5/2011 12:20:00 AM
I have been looking for the kind of pink that is not shy to scream "I am Pink!" This lipstick is opaque smooth shining lipstick to apply. I dare say that it is a perfect pink for all seasons. Truth be told I do not like Revlon lipsticks in general. The taste and smell of it is too plastic-y, not to mention I'm a packaging lover. For me packaging is second only after shade. So why now? My fave pink so far is YSL Rouge Volupte No 9. I like it for pink m/up moment but there are times when it is not bright enough. and it can looked tired at day time. I have been looking for the shade such as Love that Pink and stumbled upon it by pure chance (who said window shopping while waiting for your son to wee is boring, lol). But there I was in front of Revlon counter with the lim edition Fire & Ice in vintage packaging cardboard next to me. Swatch here and there and this colour just make me freeze. And when a girl keep thinking on a lipstick colour for 2 nights...she just has to go get it. To conclude: It is a falling in love moment at first sight.
My newest favourite in mascara. Shiny gold tube and name printed in a black strip alongside the tube. I was in Singapore recently and bought many different mascaras. This particular one is one of the newest and still in lots of adds. I tried it straight the next outing and it delivers on its promises: It doesnt smudge whole day even with the high humidity there, it volumised and of course it holds curls. I have not been impressed by drugstore mascara for a while..many left me with weighted and clumped lashes. Not the Curl Impact! The best thing is that it washes off with warm water. This is the easiest to travel, weekend away, overstayed at friends without your m/up remover -type of mascara...and a great packaging to boot! The SA said that it is popular, many have been back for the second tube of this version since its launch 2 months ago. ~Back in Australia I look it up and found a similar version of it called Extra Volume Collagene mascara. But I dont think it has the same brush. The brush is bigger hence not so easy to reach the tiny corner lashes. And it is in a boring black packaging. What to do? I have to get it off the net somewhere....
It is expensive. It is also one of the best coth mask I've tried. What makes the difference? I felt the 'weight' the 'pressure' when applied on my face was like no other mask ever done before. It is almost feel like the pressure of my own palms forcing the moisture and all goodies under my skin. I bought this mask on a whim. I was in Singapore and saw this futuristic packaging non feminine/flowerey looking mask when Q-ing to pay. I put it on when my air-conditioned skin felt a bit perch. Instant soothing as promised and the glow is back 15 minutes later. I will be back for it!
Sunscreen -L'Occitane - Immortelle Brightening Shield spf 40

I would say I've found the 'it' sun protection lotion in this. I bought it at the DFS in Sydney and happy to do so as in Singapore it was $20 more expensive. The texture is velvet soft. It penetrate into skin without living a white film. I put it on top of my UNT Aqua fortis and it seem to be enough for normal winter skin. I love how it does not leave unpleasant smell either. Will always be purchasing this from now on. It's my perfect city sunblock, just perfect under makeup! Hopefully L'occitane never discontinue this lotion.
Highlighters -Shiseido - Accentuating Color Stick In Glistening Flush
mypsalms 6/18/2010 6:07:00 AM
I have high expectation after the review I read here. But either this colour is not for every1 or It is not as I imagined it. I buy this to layer on top of my blushes. From the feel of it the colour should just pop. Alas on my NC20 it is not the case. The shine doesnt last more than a few minutes?? It kinda sink into the skin? question marks here because I have tried some of the Nars multiple which stay hours on skin. I fall in love with the packaging though..so that is a big pull to me when I decided to buy it. The SA tried on the Peach on me before I walked out and I really think this colour stay true...even after 6 hours!! It'll be my next buy If I had to get another peach blush :-b
Eyeliner -Lancome - Le Crayon Kohl in Purple Quartz
mypsalms 6/18/2010 5:58:00 AM
I have just used this once but that is enough to convince me that it is not 'that' waterproof. HOwever it does stay longer than the Le Crayon Kohl. After 3 hours of wearing it it fades by half the intensity. On the other hand, I can not say enough good thing about the colour. It is a beautiful purple on. This colour will make any eye colour looked mysterius and captured. On my NC20 skin tone, more of the blue is pronounced. The sponge tip is thoughtfully designed, it is not blunt like most tip out there, it has sharper edge to make it easy to get to the inner conner of the eyes. I love this liner!
Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Brilliant Lip Shine in Fling
mypsalms 6/17/2010 3:03:00 AM
I ordered this colour on line and made the wrong assumption that it will be purpelly-pinkish in wine tone. Well.. It is not that off/different but in my lips it is a brownish-red colour. Very little wine tone in it. I will 5 star my rating if not because of the colour as the texture is so beautiful and buttery for the winter months. I will be getting more in other tones!
I bought the Silver Black by accident. But I am glad that I decided to try the colour because it is NOT the grey colour I assumed it was, rather a lighter black with silver shen accent. IT certainly suited cool tone (IF any1 could consider black in the cool colour family!) This colour is versatile with most colouring. My eyes still looked done in an elegant way..but can also be layered to make it sultry for night makeup look. Very easy to apply with the sponge tip. Will certainly get it again!
Liquid -Giorgio Armani - Lasting Silk UV Foundation SPF20
mypsalms 5/12/2010 6:40:00 AM
I tried the sample in 5.5. a half shade deeper than my LSF 5. But the result is fine, I dont looked too dark. However I dont think I'd purchased the full size because like the previous version MSF (discontinued) I found that the colour changes on me after 3 hours. And I think I could get similiar result from the Chanel Teint Innocence. Between the two brands I'd go for Armani but as I haven't finished my Chanel bottle, I think they are to similar to own both.
I'm very attracted to this powder from the very first sight. Then after I touched it.. I just know I have to get it. I am in love with the texture!! My collection is from the 2010 Liberty of London so I am not sure how similar it is from the previous colour story. The shade on my NC15-20 is very similar with Chanel blush #44 Narcisse. Funny because Narcisse has a touch or coral in it while this MAC is supposed to give lavender undertone rosy colour. Anyway, I am using it almost daily since I got it from last week. it lasted all day on my autumn weather skin, so can't vouch on how it would last in the summer. The texture of this powder is everything and more for me. I love it as a blush mainly but I did it all over as well. The soft glow it gives is just the cherry on the cake!
Lipstick -Giorgio Armani - Shine Lipstick- #15 Brillant
mypsalms 4/18/2010 10:06:00 AM
I have to say that not many would be able to pull off wearing this mauvy-nude lip colour. BUT, it is nice on me (NC15-20) with purple/lilac hue eyeshadow. Great colour in fact for the autumn/winter time. I have worn it alone and it is very subtle...a flick of nude lip pencil settle the problem. I have also worn it on top of a bright pink lipstick and it makes a unique accent to it. I have also seen it on the Armani's SA who are fair skinned with blond /grey eyes...just so classy and stunning on her. All in all I get this lip colour for my winter makeup...and that Armani's lipstick texture of course!
