Eye Shadow -Bare Escentuals - Buxom stay there eyeshadow: Mutt
mybeadifullife 1/29/2013 2:41:00 PM
I love this color, and I love cream eyeshadow, but this formula does not stay on my eyelids all day, as it advertises. I need some work to make it last: layer primer underneath, or another longer lasting cream shadow. Its very pricey for the amount as well. It has a very peculiar feel: very bouncy. Its very smooth and creamy feeling, and blends easily.
Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Makeup

I wanted to try this product out for a long time, based on what I heard on youtube and makeup alley. I have oily combination skin, and I still love this product, even though it's marketed as a 'luminous' foundation. It is very smooth, doesn't seem to oxidize, and looks very natural, "like skin". I like that it is a pump applicator, and although costly, at about $13 each, it does last a long time. Thiis buildable from light to medium coverage. It does a good job at concealing redness, and small blemishes.
I have been using this foundation now for 2 weeks daily, i have it in the color 'sun beige', which is a tan color that seems slightly yellow to me. Its a tiny bit too dark for me at the moment, but this foundation blends so easily! I love the look. It looks very natural and 'skin' like, but still has medium to full coverage on me. I love the consistency of this. I prefer liquid foundations that are not too runny or too creamy, this is very easy to spread. It has a dewy finish, and therefore doesn't dry too fast, you have more than enough time to blend all over your face. The brush it came with did a good job of blending the foundation. Its a soft synthetic paddle brush. other reviewers said it broke over time, but i can't comment on this, since i have been using only 2 weeks. I use the brush to dot all over my face, then blend in small strokes. I have oily combination skin, and this lasts a long time for a dewy finish foundation. On me, it lasts about 6 hours before i need to blot/powder. I find it to fade very well. I have medium toned skin. This is the darkest color they had in Walgreens, so not a huge range of skin tones. I am not sure if this is a new product and they are testing it out? But the shade range is VERY small. I find the foundation to be very pricey for a drugstore, it was $16 at my Walgreens, which I consider a lot if you can't try it on to test it out. I definitely will repurchase!
This is one of my favorite eyeshadows! I guess I am in the minority it seems on makeup alley, but I absolutely love this. It's very shimmery, liike other reviewers have said. It has a nice champagne-y tone to it. Looks very nice as a sheer wash of color when swatched dry onto lids. Brightens up my eyes, and lasts all day with primer. It can also be used wet, then it gets a more frosty finish. However, I mostly wear it dry over mac painterly paint pot, one coat of mascara, and i'm ready for work. The color is called ballet pink, but to me, there's no pink in it.
This product is very thin and liquidy, its almost surprising. But don't be alarmed, it is still quite pigmented. I thought this was going to have a light coverage based on how liquid-y it is, but it is medium on me. Very natural looking too. I liked that it made my skin matte all day, didn't crease, separate, no powder needed either to set it. Very nice product. My new favorite day to day foundation. I used to wear Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, but even the oil-free one doesn't last on me too long.
Lip Treatments -Fresh - Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15

I am in love with Fresh lip balms. I love this one, (clear), as well as Sugar Rose. You get both in mini-sizes for your birthday if you are a Sephora member. I use this every night since getting it. I love the vanilla-y sugar scent it has. It moisturizes really well, makes my lips so soft. I don't have any problems with breaking tubes like others have had. I have used the Sugar Rose as a lip tint, and it lasted 5 months-6 months. The Sugar Rose was my favorite go-to forever for a lip tint, and now I am really loving this one. They are expensive for lip balms, $26 I believe. I'm not sure if I will repurchase, perhaps as a special treat to myself or gifts.
This is such a pretty color for blush! Its a bright almost neon cool toned pink in the pan, but when blended, is a very natural pretty blush on the cheeks. I bought both this one and Optimistic Orange, these are the first MAC creme blushes I have tried. These are very creamy and blendable, and wear a long time when set with powder.I usually apply lthese with a 188 brush.
I wanted to do a review on this product because it is one of my all-time favorite highlighters. I like that it is a cream product, it is perfect for spring/summer for a natural radiance look. It really melts into your skin, and doesn't look fake at all. It is very white looking in the pan, but it gives a nice soft glow to the skin. It is very natural looking and sheer, which is what I want. It is very creamy and easy to blend with your fingers. I also use MAC 188 brush to apply it to my cheeks. I am medium skin tone. My other favorite highlighters are Benefit 10 and Dior Amber Diamond. I would recommend those as well if you are looking for a powder highlighter.
I love the formula of the Tarte Bronzers. I have both the regular Park Avenue Princess, and the waterproof Matte Park Avenue Princess. I love both. The regular Park Avenue Princess is very shimmery. On my medium skin tone, it doesn't show up too much pigmentation on me, its a very light bronzer on me, and adds a lot of shimmer. I use this more as a highlighter on my cheeks. It has gold shimmer to it. Very pretty. It lasts a long time, the packaging is so cute, and it doesn't break me out or make me feel or look oily. Great products! Added: The Matte Waterproof Bronzer is actually waterproof. I use this one every day. It adds great natural color to my face. Its a golden toned bronzer, and completely matte, which is hard to find. I suggest you try this!! This is my holy grail bronzer.
Eye Shadow -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Shadow Creme - Precious Jade

This is such a pretty shade! It is shimmery green with yellow tones to it. I never would have gone for a shade like this, except the sales person recommended it. I think it would look especially pretty with people with hazel eyes. Like the other shadowcremes that I have, this is excellent in terms of staying power, and works well either by itself or as a base for powder eyeshadow. They last all day on me, and don't crease. Excellent!
I love love love this blush. Its so gorgeous. I am a blush addict, and this is one of my favorites. I got into orange-toned blushes over the past year, and this is one of my favorites. This does have shimmer, which I usually don't go for, but its more of a finer shimmer rather than the large glitter that some blushes have. It makes you look glowy. For reference, my skin tone is medium with yellow undertones to my skin, and dark brown eyes/hair.
I love this blush! It is beautiful, and the packaging is very luxurious! Definitely pricey for me, but worth it to me, because I feel so glamourous when i get ready. this is my first purple toned blush. I really love how the color from left to right gets darker, the left most shade is a pink toned blush then it slowly changes to a plum. Very pretty. The brush is actually good to apply when on the go, unlike most brushes that come with blushes in the compact are just throwaway. Comes with a mirror. Am planning on going back to try on peach nuance to see how that works for me.
I was pleasantly surprised by this product. I have medium skin, and the website described it as a peach toned highlighter. I was expecting a product with shimmer. Instead, this product is glitter! Fine glitter, yes, but definitely not just 'shimmer'. The best thing is, glitter stays where you put it on your face, and since it's in pan form, it's not loose glitter that's going to fall over your other makeup! I love to use this over eyes to add some sparkle, or swipe over cheeks either as a glitter highlighter or to make my matte blushes sparkly for night. For me, this will be more of a 'night' product, because for day I work in a more conservative environment, and don't want to wear glitter. If you already have glitter products, I would say pass, but if you're looking for one that's easy to use, this would be a good one. I usually apply with my fingers.
Concealers -Maybelline - Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles

This is a drugstore gem. I love this product! I have medium skin, and I purchased the 'Brightener' shade. It is a pinkish toned light beige. Its very thin, so it provides light coverage. I like the sponge tip applicator, I use that to spread product and blend. I then finish blending with my fingers any areas that need further blending. I have no problems with dryness, flaking or creasing. I also have used this product along my cheekbones and nose, and it works there as well as a subtle lightener/illuminator.
I did not like this primer. I got a sample of it as part of Sephora's 500 point perk, and was really excited to try it since it's silicone-free. My pores seem highlighted by this product, strange. I hate it on my cheeks. I use it on my undereyes to prime before I put concealer, but other than that, I'm not a fan.
