This is a great product, it left my skin smooth & soft and any acne i had was dramatically reduced the next day. With that said, it's extremely expensive. My microdermabrasion crystals i bought for $5 do just about the same thing. I enjoy the mositurizing & citrus scent, but not worth the hefty price even though it's a good product.
Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve - Minted Rose Lip Balm

This stuff is addicting! It's not very long lasting, but still it leaves your lips very moisturized and soft long after it dissapears. I love the cool mint feeling of this. I wasn't sure about the rose scent, as i normally don't like perfumey lip products, but it's faint and fades quickly. Overall this is a great balm, and the size of the container is huge so i don't mind applying it frequently.
This is my favorite lipgloss, it's sheer, not too sicky, and leaves a perfect goldy pink shimmer over any lipstick. It's too sheer to wear on it's own for me, but looks beautiful over almost all my peach, pink, nude lipsticks.
I did not like this mascara. It lengthens a bit, but provides absolutely no volume. It also has a very irritating floral smell. I may use this on my lower lashes, but i'll be sticking to loreal voluminous. EDIT: Added another lippie, this actually works better after it's been opened awhile. It's great for lengethening, I can't rate it down because of it not providing volume since that's not its purpose.
Lipstick -Cover Girl - TruShine Lipstick in Peach Shine 465

I picked this up at walgreens as they were dc'ing them for only $1.79.I had been wanting to try them, but was fearful they'd be too sheer on my pigmented lips. I was wrong! This is a gorgeous glossy peach shade that actually show up pretty well. The feel of the lipstick is so nice, very moisturizing. It has the appearance of wearing a lipstick and a gloss at the same time. This is a great lippie for a beautiful natural look. If this wasn't the only one left, I would've went back and bought more shades. Hope it's not being dc'd everywhere, great find!
Finally a drugstore line making quality matte's! These shadows are fantastic. Nice texture, go on silky smooth and are very pigmented. They are much better than MAC's matte's. At $4.99 and $3 off at walgreens this week these are a total steal! I'm going back to get more for sure. I picked up vintage lace, which is a beautiful matte cream that looks fantastic as a brow highlight. Also got rich sable which is a dark cool grey toned brown. I've been searching for a deep brown that didn't contain any red tones and this is it. This will make a lovely smokey eye or applied lightly for a crease color. I'll definitely be picking more of these up.
Just picked this up today BOGOF, I already have nude attitude and fell in love with the color and formula. This is great red, it has nice brown undertones to not make it too bright. Very beautiful for daytime and not too over the top. This reminds me of MAC Viva Glam V, but slightly more red. The formula of these are great, light, not too drying and look great with a little lip balm underneath. Definitely a fantastic drugstore find that rivals many higher end brands.
This lipstick is wonderful, it's exactly the nude i've been searching for but never been able to find. It's what I wanted MAC myth to look like. The texture is matte but very light on, not as drying as MAC matte's. I find it does look better with a light balm underneath. The lipstick covers my very pigmented lips with one swipe, and has beautiful peachy undertones. This is definitely my new favorite for a nude lip.
Hair Styling Tools -Farouk CHI - Chi Ceramic Flat Iron by Farouk

I've owned my chi for about 5 years now, and it's still goin strong. However, this review is for the NEW ones released in the last year or so. I find the quality has declined immensely. I bought one from beautychoice.com, and I'm not sure if this is just a shady online store or if chi's are being made bad in general. This one barely heats up and my hair gets stuck in the plates everytime and pulls it out. Now with my older chi that I purchased directly from my salon still works fine, but this one is total crap. Would not purchase a CHI again if this is the lack of quality they're producing now
Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation
my_vanity_is_a_mess 1/9/2009 1:01:00 AM
This is the most amazing foundation ever! It's medium to buildable and covers like a dream without looking cakey or even like I'm wearing any foundation at all, just great skin. It fills in my pores like i've never had a foundation do. It wears long, and even after many hours my face didn't look like an oil slick, but instead like i had a beautiful glow. So far my favorite way to apply is using the MAC 188 to stipple and then blend, it becomes a very airbrush like finish. I'm NC15-20 and use #115. The match is pretty close, although a little too dark in winter it just amps up my skintone instead of looking actually too dark on. Only fault is that it's Expensive! But a little goes a long way, I only use 1/2 pump for my whole face. Combined with the HD powder or my LM translucent this is HG material.
This is really nice for what it is. It's moisturizing and feels really light and smooth on, like butter! I was surprised at how pigmented this is, which was a downside for me since I was just looking for more of a lip treatment I could apply at any time without needing precise application. This is a gorgeous pinky coral though, so it would work beautifully as a daytime lipcolor.
I had high hopes for this eye cream and thought it was working well at first until now. Lately I've had itchy red irritated and swelled upper eye area, and have not worn any other makeup so I'm ruling this as the cause. I've noticed in other reviews that after awhile others have this problem. I've used it consistently for a month now, and now am getting the same reaction. I like the moisturizer for undereyes and haven't had a problem with it, but the gel i believe i'm allergic too. The eye cream search continues!
This is one of the best under eye concealers I've tried. I'm nc20 and use the shade light bisque. It's texture is slightly waxy kind of creamy, very easy to blend. The pink in this cancels out my purple/grey under eye cirlcles beautifully. I find I don't need another concealer over this, that it blends with my skintone perfectly. The only downside is that it settles in to my fine lines without powder, and i have yet to find a powder i like under the eyes. Otherwise this is perfection in a pot.
Scrubs -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Natural Facial Scrub
my_vanity_is_a_mess 11/29/2008 10:27:00 PM
I had been faithful to my st ives scrub for years, but after hearing a lot of negativity on how abrasive it is I was looking for something else. I love the mint julep masque, so when i spotted this at sally's i picked it up. It's just as wonderful! The mintly tingle is great. The grains are finer ground than st.ives and a little goes a long way. This scrub feels moisturizing going on, and really cleans the skin. After my skin feels fresh, clean, and soft. My pores feel & look completely cleaned out and smaller. This is my new HG exfoliator.
I'm very dissapointed that mac is discontinuing paints because they are great. This is the perfect eyeshadow base. It's nude in color but gives a great starting canvas for both neutral and bright looks. It's thick and creamy but dries to a smooth dry finish. It makes shadows very easy to blend. So far this is my favorite base over and i've tried (udpp, paint pots, shadesticks).
