Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
rated 5 of 5

Genius! I have somewhat greasy eyelids, so I've had trouble making my eyeshadow last until lunchtime. Not cool. I finally broke down and bought UDPP, and I'm officially converted. My shadow stays on all day, even through my showers! It doesn't fade or smear at all. It will crease a little bit as the day goes on, but not nearly as badly as it would without primer. The only real issue I have with this is the packaging. We all know that the shape of the bottle leaves tons of unused product inside, and there's no way to get it out without cutting the bottle open! That's frustrating. But honestly, even though I'm wasting product, I'll still repurchase. HG primer for sure!

Concealers -Make Up For Ever - Extreme Camouflage Cream
rated 5 of 5

This is the best concealer I've ever found, and I've tried a lot of concealers. It actually covers my acne and acne scars, and it stays put all day. It is expensive, but you only need a tiny bit to cover any blemishes. I've had one tube for about nine months and I haven't even used a third of it. The only issue I have with this is that I can't use it on my under-eye circles because it's super drying, but I've found MUFE lift concealer for that, so I'm happy.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shale Eyeshadow

This is my new everyday HG shadow. I bought this on a whim because it looked pretty in the pan, and I didn't plan on really wearing it that often because it didn't seem that versatile. I was soooo wrong. The smoky violet really brings out my hazel eyes, but it's not so noticeable that anyone will know I'm wearing purple shadow at a glance. And this shadow translates really well from everyday casual to a dramatic night-time look. Love!

Cleansers -Ponds - Deep Cleanser Cold Cream
rated 5 of 5

I love this stuff. I have seriously acne-prone skin, and ever since I started using Retin-Micro it's been soooooo dry. I have to moisturize about 10 times a dry. But since I've started using this cleanser there's been a noticeable difference in my skin. It's smoother and more even, and it stays moisturized longer! Yes, it does leave an oily film on your skin, but if you pat it with a washclothe and just ignore the film and let it sink into your skin, it's really moisturizing. And so far this stuff hasn't clogged my pores. I'm in love!

Deodorants -Jason Natural Cosmetics - lavender deodorant
rated 4 of 5
mw09011 1/1/2009 4:01:00 PM

IMHO, this is a pretty good deodorant. It's not perfect, but I've never found an non-organic deodorant that is either. The lavender smell is pleasant, and fades reasonably quickly and the packaging is good quality. It doesn't leave white marks on my clothes or cause any yellowing. And yes, it does go on a little wet, but I'm definitely willing to put up with that for an aluminum-free deodorant. This works as well as any Secret, Dove, or Lady Speedstick deodorant I've tried, and it doesn't cause the irritation or cysts (gross, I know, but true) that those aluminum-containing deodorants did. Buy this if you want a good, aluminum free deodorant. It's worth it!

Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - Brilliantine

I have an emotional breakdown when I run out of this stuff. I can't say exactly what it does, but I know what happens when I don't use it, and it's not pretty. I have very thick, coarse, somewhat dry shoulder length hair, and I put a dime sized drop of this on my palms and run it through the bottom half of my hair. When it dries it looks shiny (like people begging me to tell them what I do with my hair shiny) and healthy and I don't get split ends anymore! I use a very small amount of this on dry hair if I have frizzies or I've flat-ironed/blow dried it. Using lots of this on dry hair or above your ears will leave you with oily, limp hair. Seriously, buy this. You won't regret it.

Top/Base Coats -Sally Hansen - Ultimate shield fortifying base and top coat
rated 4 of 5
mw09011 9/13/2008 10:32:00 PM

I guess I'm the only one that likes this stuff... I haven't tried it as a base coat, but this works REALLLLLLY well for me as a top coat. I use it on top of two coats of OPI, and my manicure stays chip free for at least a week, instead of the usual four. And I never did a touch up! That's HG quality for me. On the downside, it dries quickly to the touch but it takes a while to dry completely, it can develop a few bubbles if your polish is too thick/wet, and it could be a little shinier, but for the price and how long it lasts, I'm sold.

Polishes -Essie - hi maintenance
rated 5 of 5
mw09011 5/1/2008 12:13:00 AM

This is the perfect not-quite-nude nail polish. It's like my nail color, only better. And shinier. It's not as white as Mademoiselle or Ballet Slippers, but not too pink, and has absolutely no shimmer. It is pretty sheer, and I always need to use around three coats, but the lasting power is pretty decent.

Hair -Mane 'n Tail - Conditioner
rated 1 of 5
mw09011 4/26/2008 6:33:00 PM

No no no no no no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, this is a warning. This stuff works very well on my horses' manes and tails because this is meant for horses! My best friend used this religiously on her waist length hair for about a year, and at first it looked healthier and shinier, and then it started getting so weak, brittle, and full of split ends that she had to literally chop all of her hair off and get a bob. No joke. So please, please do NOT use this one your hair!

Mascara -Lancome - Hypnose Waterproof
rated 5 of 5
mw09011 3/17/2008 10:51:00 PM

A++++++++++++++++++++++++++ i don't ask for a lot from my mascara. all i want is slightly longer, slightly thicker lashes that don't clump or flake or smear or just melt at the sight of water. i've tried diorshow, benefit badgal, great lash (worst. mascara. ever.) origins, and more other mascaras than i can ever remember. this may be the first waterproof mascara i've tried that's actually waterproof. not only did it last through my entire day at school, but it stayed on smudge free through my workout, and even my post workout shower, all while making my lashes look thick and fab. and it came right off with my makeup remover. i honestly can't think of any negatives about this.

Treatments -Peter Thomas Roth - AHA/BHA Acne Clearing Gel
rated 5 of 5
mw09011 2/3/2008 1:30:00 AM

Amazing!!!!!!!!! I love this stuff! I switched to Smashbox Photofinish primer and was breaking out like crazy, and this was the only thing that could solve it. I have pretty unsensitive skin and cystic acne, and while other people have called this gel harsh, it hasn't irritated me at all. It burned a little the first few times I put it on, but I tend to think that if it burns its working better (crazy, I know) and honestly, this product hasn't dried me out at all, and my skin is better than its been in a long time. Cons: the glass bottle, the pump, and the price. I just have the feeling that one I'm going to drop my bottle on the counter and be very upset when it shatters. The pump is a little hard to deal with and I can't seem to control how much product I get, but its much more sanitary than a jar/pot. It is expensive, but you can get a deal on ebay, and for what this does and how long it'll last, its a bargain.
