Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lansinoh Lanolin

Ok I'm sold, this stuff is amazing! I stumbled accross the review on here and thought I'd give it a shot, and it is the best lip balm for overnight that I have ever used. I wouldn't use it during the day as I usually wear a lipgloss and this is a little heavy but does soften up with the heat of your lips. It is a bit hard to get out of the tube, like some other gals here, I may put it in a pot instead but at least with the tube there's no mess and it's more sanitary. I woke up this morning and my lips are super plump and beyond soft and I'm in the middle of minus -25 degree harsh winter and 0 humidity, it's extremely dry here. This stuff would probably work wonders on elbows and feet overnight too, I'm might try it. For $10 a tube it's a great deal and no petroleum which is a bonus. You just have to put on a TOUCH of it, this tube will last forever. I highly recommend trying this!

Liquid -LORAC - Breakthrough Performance Oil Free Anti-aging with sms complex spf 14
rated 5 of 5

Wow, I'm surprised at the low rating for this, I just started using it and it's the best foundation I ever used! I'm very pale, oily skin, my pores clog easy and I'm in a very dry cold climate (It's winter right now) so my skin is oily and yet completely dehydrated and flaking, it's been so hard to get a decent looking base lately. This really did the job, the packaging is great, the shade is perfect - not too pink like some light shades can be and not too yellow but definately yellow based which I love. I have some redness and slight discoloration but this made my skin look great when used over Make Up Forever's primer in green and topped off with their MUF HD powder. It hasn't slid off my face 8 hours later and my pores look good, it isn't a matt product but it's not oily looking either, just a nice healthy skin look. No color change and no seperation. I don't care if I have to blot, I'd rather blot and have great looking skin than use a matt foundation and have it accentuate my flakes from the current weather. I'm not sure how this will hold up in Summer or more humid climates but for me this is HG material right now!

Styling Products -Farouk CHI - Chi shine infusion thermal polishing spray
rated 5 of 5

I love this product, it's my favourite shine spray to use on my clients because it's so light, gives glass like shine but isn't greasy at all - the smell alone is worth using it!

Lip Gloss -Stila - Sugar Plum Lipglaze
rated 5 of 5
mumbai 3/17/2008 11:45:00 AM

I really like YLBB glosses without shimmer that are a natural or flushed pink - but not too barbie or fushia and no orangey/warm tones that you can sometimes get with the nude pink shades - this one fits the bill! It is a nice sheer, but pigmented enough, pink that is fresh looking (I would not describe it as a "plum" like the Stila website does) and lasts a decent time, even through my breakfast this morning on my first day of trying it out. I'm not a fan of gloss pens but so far I haven't clicked up too much gloss and wasted any. I think the price ($36CAN) is crazy for the amount you get but I will buy it again.

Palettes -Bobbi Brown - Spring 2008 Pink Raspberry Face Palette
rated 5 of 5
mumbai 2/8/2008 6:21:00 PM

I love this palette! It's strange the reviews are so conflicting? Both lippies are sheer but pigmented enough YLBB shades with no orangey nude overtones I cannot wear, the blush looks bright but with a good quality brush goes on a dream and is a nice pop of color on my NC15 PPP skin. Both shadows are totally wearable and blendable with UDPP as a base and have great color payof and hold on all day - what's not to like? Yes the colors are nothing totally different but I think "different" is over rated, I mean is there a color that has not been done by a cosmetics company yet - probably not. Some reviews say how it's similar to other shades in BB etc, but I feel they do stand alone. For me, the whole point of having a palette is so I can do my whole color part of my face without switching to 3-4 other palettes or singles etc to get the look I want. This palette fits the bill and gives and overall pretty look all by itself. To me that is the ideal palette - everything is usable!

Primer/ Corrector -Skinn Cosmetics - Orchid Gel Mattefying Day Treatment Seal
rated 5 of 5
mumbai 2/4/2008 12:04:00 PM

For my this is my HG primer, I agree with certain foundations it can ball up but not with mine (Maybelline Pure) My pores are VERY significantly smaller when I use this and while it does not control oil throughout the day it does make my makeup look flawless. I can apply this if I don't want to wear makeup and I feel much better than bare skin, it does hide my pores quite well and mattifies slightly without drying. Wish it had a sunscreen though as I use it with no moisturizer.

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Primer

I have to say the one positive thing about this product is my foundation looked and went on flawlessly. But the pump blows and after a week my pores were so plugged I couldn't figure out what was going on, this stuff REALLY plugged my pores up quickly, I could never use this again :-(

Treatments -Alpha Hydrox - AHA Souffle 12 percent Glycolic AHA
rated 5 of 5
mumbai 2/4/2008 11:51:00 AM

I saw this in a sale bin at my local drugstore. I'd of coarse heard of it before but just never took the plunge. Now I wish I'd bought more! I have ruddy, sensitive, very oily skin, my pores clog very easy. I have tried everything, prescriptions, high end, low end OTC's and by far this has helped my skin the best. First week was a little flakey but we are in the depths of winter with -20 degree temps so it's to be expected. After the first week my skin is much less red, my pores are signifcantly clearer and so appear much smaller, my skin is even and brighter. LOVE IT! I only use it at night and use my regular sun screen during the day.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Smoking Eyes 4 Palette (Smoke Signals)
rated 5 of 5
mumbai 10/1/2007 12:49:00 PM

Loved this palette, I can use everything in it unlike some quads. Gave the perfect warm/neutral smokey eye. Everyone else gave a good breakdown of shades so I won't repeat, but this collection of quads has been one of my most favourites to date - wearable classic eye palettes that anyone can wear!

Eyes -MAC - Smoke Signals Gentle Fume Quad
rated 5 of 5
mumbai 10/1/2007 12:44:00 PM

Gave me a great cool smokey eye. Still need to use Vanilla as a base on the upper lid but this worked great. It was cool but not overly blue toned which I find some greys can be and aren't flattering on my green eyes. Some of these quads I can't use all the colors, this one I can use everything.

Palettes -Bobbi Brown - Pink Face Palette
rated 5 of 5
mumbai 4/3/2006 7:22:00 PM

A palette I'd consider stocking up on! Gives a real classic look. Nice nude natural pinky lips - pink flushed cheeks and nice chocolate and pink eye (The pink shadow concerned me initially, before I saw the palette in person, as I can't wear pink shadow - but this was perfectly wearable!) I wish the shadows and lippies were bigger though!

Palettes -Bobbi Brown - Bridal Palette
rated 5 of 5
mumbai 4/3/2006 7:18:00 PM

Syeung2 gave a great breakdown of accurate shade descritions so I won't repeat. But I LOVE this palette. I happy BB finally spaced her blushes from her shadows on this palette. The blush is large and you don't risk dipping it in the shadows with your full sized blush brush. Don't miss your chance to pick this up!

Lipstick -Bobbi Brown - Tulle
rated 5 of 5
mumbai 4/2/2006 8:31:00 PM

Perfect! I'm not a lipstick fan really, but this was in my BB Bridal palette so I gave it a shot. It's a perfect YLBB pink - not too warm or too cool - kinda like childrens lips - more of a "blushed" shade. Love it!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Overgrown
rated 1 of 5
mumbai 2/19/2006 7:56:00 PM

I wanted this to work, but honestly it looked gastly no matter how I used it or what I used it with. It's a sickly almost matte lime/yellow - more yellow than anything. It simply goes too vibrant and a real "off" color - and I usually like brights!
