Powder -Maybelline - PureStay Powder Foundation

I'm not a big fan of mineral foundation. I tried a few other brands (mainly bare essentials) and it broke me out. I was really hesitant to try another mineral foundation, but I was having a sublative procedure done on my face (to get rid of my acne scars) and my dermatologist said that I was not allowed to use liquid foundation for a week. Thanks to MUA, I found this powder foundation and was really surprised that it did not break me out (not yet anyhow. I've only been using it for a week). It doesn't sink into my lines and pores. It actually seems to cover up my large pores and it absorbs the oil on my face. I have super oily skin and use up an entire blotting sheet to get rid of the shine. I didn't have that problem with this powder, so I was really pleased. The powder doesn't look natural at first and it really noticeable at first application, but it seems to settle in after 10 minutes. I like the fact that it has spf, but it's only 15 spf. It has really light coverage, so don't depend on this if you have post acne marks. I'll update further if it starts to break me out.

Treatments -Estee Lauder - Advanced Night Repair (Serum)

I was really hopeful for this product and it did not let me down. I just turned 30 and wanted to find a product to prevent wrinkles and age spots. I started noticing them a year or two ago and wanted to stop any further aging. I've used it for about two weeks and I do notice a difference in my skin tone. It's less oily and it's brighter. I would say I have a natural glow and it's fading my dark (acne) spots. I also have a sun spot on my cheek and I think it's fading as well. No break outs so far and my pores seem less noticeable. I'm really impressed by my overall complexion. I wake up in the morning and look like I've had a great night's sleep even though I only have 4 or 5 hours!

Bronzers -Rimmel - Natural Bronzer- 21 Sun Light

I really like the color. I'm pale, but this doesn't look too fake on me. Most of the time, I just use it to contour my cheeks a bit since I have really big, fatty cheeks that people love to pinch. My face looks super round, so I like to brush a bit of this bronzer near my jawliner and under my cheekbones to give my face a more narrow shape. It isn't too orange and it doesn't have glitter. It seems to last on my face all day. The only problem is that it breaks me out :(

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter in Creme Brulee

I've been looking for a nice nude color and my sister let me borrow this. I liked it so much that I went and got my own. The color really matches my skin tone and has the barest hint of shimmer. It doesn't make me look sickly and it's not orange or red on my lips. Just the perfect nude shade. It's the shade I could wear every day. The only problem is that I think this dries out my lips a bit. I would have given it five stars if it weren't drying. I have to wear chapstick underneath.

Eyeliner -Milani - Liquif'eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil - brown
rated 4 of 5
mukhy0 8/6/2012 8:28:00 PM

It's not actually metallic, which is great. I love this eyeliner. It doesn't budge or smudge all day. I can't rave enough about how long lasting this eyeliner is. The only problem is that it's sooo soft. I've broken the tip one time when I took off the cap. It also breaks in the pencil sharpener. I'm almost halfway through the pencil and I've only used it around 10 times! I really love this pencil, but I wish it was a little firmer. I keep having to sharpen it to keep a sharp tip. Otherwise, it's too fat to draw a thin line in the inner corners of your eyes. Most of the time, eyeliners last almost half a year for me. I'm really surprised by how much of this product I've already used and I've only had it for a little over a month!

Concealers -Hard Candy - Glamoflauge Concealer
rated 3 of 5

It covers for sure, but it comes off really easily. I just press my face against my boyfriend's and the concealer comes off! I've tried using the pencil first and then dabbing this on, but I can't get this concealer to stay. I've given it ample time to dry and it still comes off. It also sinks into my fine lines, so I can't use it for the dark circles under my eyes. If you're on a budget, I guess this product would work well for you. A little goes a loooooong way. I doubt I would finish a half the tube in a year. I only need a dot of concealer to cover up all my blemishes. It's always sold out at Walmart and I was lucky to grab a bottle to try out. Not super impressed with it compared to my usual concealer (Givenchy's corrective pen)

Cleansers -DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil

I really love this product. I used Mac's Cleanse Off Oil for about a year, which worked well, but I was really impressed by this product when I finally decided to try a bottle due to the high reviews on MUA. My skin feels cleaner and I don't need to wash afterward with another cleanser. I break out really easily, but I can usually get away with washing my face with just this product. No clogged pores or zits. It washes everything off, even the most stubborn eyeliner and mascara. My holy grail item for sure.

Fragrances -Jean Paul Gaultier - Classique EDP

I love the bottle. I think it's so pretty. I got this for Christmas and I've been trying it out every day. It definitely lasts a long time. My boyfriend noticed the lingering scent hours after I used just one spray. I prefer the Summer scent. I think this is a little too powdery and sweet smelling for my tastes.

Cleansers -Dove - Dove Cool Moisture Cleansing Cloths
rated 4 of 5
mukhy0 1/4/2010 4:47:00 AM

This product does a decent job cleaning off my makeup, but sometimes I feel like I need to use a 2nd cloth. It's perfect for travel because you have to add water for it to foam up. The only negative thing about this product is that it is not strong enough to wash wp mascara or eyeliner. It's neither drying nor moisturizing. After using 2 packages, I've noticed my skin looking a little dull. I like the fact that it's not too expensive, but you get what you pay for. I've gotten a number cystic pimples while using this, but I'm not sure if it's because of me or the fact that it doesn't clean off all my makeup. I also can't justify using one cloth a day. It just seems so wasteful and not eco-friendly to me. I'd use this for travel and vacations, but not day-to-day use.

Concealers -Givenchy - Mister Light

My sister bought this a few weeks ago at Sephora. I watched the sales lady put it on her and it made her eye area noticeably brighter and she looked much more refreshed and awake. It erased her dark circles and reduced the puffiness under her eyes. I've tried Boi-ing from Benefit, and some Revlon concealers. Both of them settled into the lines around my dry eyes and made it look so unnatural. When I borrowed this from my sister, I was wowed by the difference in quality. It is not at all drying and it makes my under eye area look smooth and less puffy and dark. I'm definitely going to buy one for myself!

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Boi-ing

I got this as part of the "Big Beautiful Eyes" kit. I like the texture, but I think it's a little drying. It's great on the eyelids before putting on eyeshadow. Not good for under the eyes. My skin is dry under my eyes and this settled into the lines and made them more noticeable.

Blush -NARS - The Multiple in Orgasm
rated 3 of 5
mukhy0 6/20/2009 8:10:00 PM

This provides a very nice, natural looking glow. I like using it for my cheeks and lips, but it doesn't last very long. It looks great when I leave my house in the morning, but by lunch time, the color has almost completely faded. I've tried to use it for my eyes, but it creases in my lid. I'd stick to the powder.

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara Waterproof
rated 3 of 5
mukhy0 6/2/2009 12:26:00 AM

I bought this because of the good reviews. On an average day, this mascara is okay. I have a little trouble applying the mascara because too much product sticks to the wand. Also, it tends to smudge by the end of the day, especially if I have to go to the gym. I've had WP mascaras that never smudge and this failed the test. For day-to-day use, it's okay. I have short, straight Asian lashes so it keeps the curl, but doesn't really add length or much volume.

Mascara -Max Factor - Volume Couture Waterproof
rated 4 of 5
mukhy0 6/1/2009 11:31:00 PM

I've been switching between MF Volume couture WP, Maybelline Full & Soft WP, and CG Lash Blast WP and this one is my favorite. Lash Blast's mascara wasn't very water proof and it tended to smudge under my eyes by the end of the day. Full & Soft gave me very natural looking mascara and it doesn't smudge much, but I think the brush collects too much product. This is why MF Volume Couture won. Even though the brush is big, it uses just enough product and it lasts all day. It doesn't smudge and it keeps my curl all day long. It gives me lashes a lot of volume, but not enough length. It's good for day-to-day use. Not a mascara for dramatic lashes.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
rated 3 of 5
mukhy0 1/26/2009 12:12:00 AM

I really like the way the eyeshadow stays on my eyelids all day with this product. It makes the colors vibrant and lasts forever. I haven't bought another tube because it is incredibly drying on the upper lid. I'm still looking for a moisturizer for the dry skin. Another problem I have with this product is the packaging. You can't use all the product in the tube. I think I probably ended up throwing away 1/4 of the primer because I couldn't get to it. I really love the way my eyeshadow looks with the primer, but it just isn't worth the price.
