Lipstick -Kanebo - Coffret D'or Styling Rogue
rated 5 of 5
muddles 10/8/2008 11:47:00 AM

I love love love this lipstick! Coffret D'or Full Styling Rouge is my current favourite HG. Of all the lipsticks I've tried so far, this is the long-most lasting, silky and moisturizing lipstick ever! I have the shade BE-179,glow range. The colour pay-off is great--Beigey-pink which goes on sheer with a glossy finish, and can be intensified upon layering. This shade is great for nude look. I found the texture of this to be similar to Benefit Silky Finish, but Benefit's is less lasting on me.Love the simple yet sleek and sophisticated packaging too.As for the price, this lipstick is rather expensive--I paid about 40 SGD for this but the high quality makes every cent worth it. Would definitely want to get more shades from the full styling rouge line.

Loose Powders -Laura Mercier - Laura Mercier Loose Powder in Ivory
rated 5 of 5
muddles 10/8/2008 11:33:00 AM

Laura Mercier Ivory Loose Setting Powder is one of my favourite Loose powder. It is very finely-milled,blends in and sets my foundation very well with good oil-controlling properties without me having to blot or touch up for the whole day at all. This powder does not oxidize on me too! The colour of this loose powder is pale yellowish-beige, which is suitable for PPPs with yellow-based skintone looking for more coverage. In terms of quality wise, this powder is comparable with Becca Sesame and NARS Snow.Among the 3, LM has the best oil-control properties. However, my favourite is NARS Snow in terms of texture (finest among the 3) and colour-wise(best colour for ppp).In terms of packaging,I do like the the design but gave it a rating of 4 only as I feel that an application puff should be included in, which most brands of LP do.

Liquid -Anna Sui - Moisturizing fluid foundation
rated 5 of 5
muddles 10/8/2008 11:12:00 AM

This is my current HG foundation! I got the shade P04 and it matches my ppp skin tone perfectly.Im a MAC NC15, Becca Sand,LM Porcelain-Ivory (oil-free),LM t/m nude for reference. Texture of this foundation is relatively light and easy to blend in.This foundation evens out my skintone naturally. I like to set this with NARS Snow loose powder and it lasted on me for the entire day and without oxidizing on me at all. I like the signature tea-rose scent too! In terms of packaging, it comes in the form of a froseted glass bottle with rose design and a pretty black vintage cap.I have no issues with the glass bottle style, but this may be a hassle in terms of application for those who prefer pump-style. Am quite surprise that there are only 2 reviews here. Would definitely buy this again.

Liquid -Laura Mercier - Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation
rated 4 of 5
muddles 10/8/2008 10:55:00 AM

I have mixed feelings for this product. LM oil-free foundation in porcelain ivory matches my NC 15 skin tone relatively well. This shade is more yellowish-based which may suit most Asian skintones. The texture of this foundation is quite similar to Becca LSC, but this provides more coverage.Coverage-wise, this is quite light as compared to the silk-creme foundation.I also have the procelain tinted moisturizer and both gives me about the same degree of coverage. Hence, I would recommend those who prefer more coverage to get the silk creme version instead. This foundation evens out my skintone well, and does not oxidize on me.I set it with LM loose setting powder in ivory and it lasted on me well for the entire day! However, I had abit of difficulty blending it in as this foundation tends to dry rather quickly upon application.I like the packaging(pump-style) of it, but do not really like the design of the cap--it seems quite fragile and I have fear of breaking it one day. Unlikely to buy this again,as I still have several other foundations to use up. *I have a swatch picture of this in my gallery

Loose Powders -NARS - Snow
rated 5 of 5
muddles 9/25/2008 10:30:00 PM

NARS Snow loose powder is my current holy grail! The texture is very fine and silky, with no shimmers at all. The texture is also comparable to Becca Sesame loose powder but I prefer this as it does not oxidize on me at all, unlike Sesame which is slightly darker in colour. I use this powder to set my liquid foundation or tinted moisturizer and the finishing is simply natural- it seems to melt into my skin without looking powdery at all.power is great, as I have mentioned above that it does not oxidise on me.Mattifying power is relatively average (my face turns oily after about 4 hours). This shade is off-white in colour, which is great for those with very fair skin. Im a ppp,MAC Nc15,LM t/m Porcelain for reference. This powder is also worth getting, with a generous amount of 1.6 oz,45g.Overall, I recommend this l/p, but the only gripe I do no like is the powder puff(A softer or fluffy puff would be better).

Blush -Becca - Wisp soft touch blush
rated 5 of 5
muddles 3/2/2008 6:36:00 AM

I was lucky to swap for this. When I first saw Wisp, I was skeptical whether it will look too bronze or orange on me as the colour appears in the pan. P/s: The colour looks similar to Becca Flamenco Bronzer in the pan but turns up differently after application. Fortunately,Wisp turns up very beautifully on my cheeks with a peachy-beige hue.Not orangy nor looking muddy at all. ( you may refer to my FOTD pictures to take a look). Overall, very natural and polished I must say, and this will definitely be great for nude look.Texture is silky and fine with subtle shimmers. This lasted on my cheeks the whole day too. Now Im impressed with beige blushes, something different from the usual pink, peach, rosy, coral blushes that I have. Will like to try more beige blushes next time esp LM crushed hazelnut! For reference, Im a MAC nc 15, LM Porcelain, Becca Sand.

Primer/ Corrector -RMK - Creamy Make-Up Base
rated 5 of 5
muddles 2/19/2008 12:38:00 PM

The best make up base I've tried so far. RMK is not available in my country but I was lucky enough to swap for this. I have the shade 00 which is white in colour but goes on translucent after application. I did not notice much difference until I applied on my paul & joe protective fluid foundation, which glides on so smoothly! This make up base also help to prevent my foundation from oxidising, thereby brightening up my face. Besides, it also has mattifying properties--good oil control and at the end of the day, my skin was less oily as compared to using other primers. Packaging-wise is fine. The only bad point is that there is no spf for this make up base. For reference,Im a MAC nc 15,LM t/m porcelain, Becca LSC Sand.

Blush -Smashbox - Fusion Soft Lights - Gossamer
rated 5 of 5
muddles 2/19/2008 12:20:00 PM

Gossamer was left cold storage for a few months until one fine day I decided to try it. Consisting of various shades of colour-hot pink, champagne, orange, brown and white, Gossamer appears as cool pink with subtle shimmers on my NC 15 skintone (swirl and sweep your brush across the different colour stripes).Very unique shade of pink I would say, somewhat different from the other colour blushes I own. Quality-wise is fine..Packaging could be improve, as I do not really like the idea of having to screw open the cover.

Lip Gloss -C.O. Bigelow - Mentha Lip Shine
rated 5 of 5
muddles 1/23/2008 2:04:00 AM

I love this lipgloss!Got this as part of a gift.Colour is a pale-peachy pink without any shimmers.Long lasting as it moisturizes my lips with the refreshing feeling for hours! This lipgloss also taste like mint candy(sweet!) which always tempt me to lick it away and reapply more often. The only factor I do not like is the packaging that tend to get sticky and messy around the tube after application.

Liquid -Becca - Luminous Skin Color sheer foundation
rated 4 of 5
muddles 9/23/2007 8:40:00 AM

I have mix-feelings for this LSC.Love how moisturizing it feels on my face but this goes on very sheer on the face such that it only helps to even out the complexion so do not expect much coverage from this.Im a PPP, MAC NC 15 and Sand matches my skintone very well! Packaging is fine but what I do not like most about this is the pump--I have to be very careful pumping a small amount out, otherwise it will squirt everywhere on my habds, leaving a big mess behind.Comparing this with LM TM in porcelain, I still prefer LM for its thicker texture and better coverage.

Loose Powders -Paul & Joe - Loose Face Powder - Iris
rated 5 of 5
muddles 9/23/2007 8:28:00 AM

I love this LP! This pale lavender powder with subtle shimmers brightens up my faces after application. Im a PPP, MAC NC15 but this should suit other skintone as well since the colour isn't really pigmented. It has a lovely flower scent and the texture is fine and silky. I use this to set my mu after applying LM porcelain TM or Becca Sand LSC and the effect is great! Thumbs up for the princessy-vintage container which comes with a big fluffy puff and netting. Price-wise, not friendly for your wallet but worth it imo since you get a huge amount of product for what you pay for--25g/0.88oz which is almost double the amount of other LP.

Lipstick -Clinique - Moisture Sheer SPF 15 [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
muddles 9/13/2007 6:32:00 AM

Clinique moisture sheer lipstick is very similar to Benefit silky-finish in terms of silkiness and hydration but Clinique is definitely more pigmented.I got the colour Pink Charm at my university sale for about $8 and this is definitely worth the $$! Pink charm is my-lips-but-better-shade and it gives a sheer glossy finish on my lips. What I also like about this lipstick is the spf15 properties! A good makeup therapy for my lips!

Lipstick -Cargo - Plant Love-Sarah
rated 5 of 5
muddles 8/26/2007 5:49:00 AM

Cargo Plantlove Sarah looks shimmery coral-pinkish in the tube but when applied to my lips(PPP,NC15 skintone), it looks ballerina-pink with lots of shimmers.Great for nude look if you like shimmers and a light-pale lip colour.Similar to Lindsay, both plantlove lipsticks are equally soft, buttery and moisturizing on my lips. However I gave a rating of 2 on the packaging because mine was damaged during the shipping. The design of the packaging is very pretty but I would prefer the the material of the tube to be more sturdy.

Lipstick -BeneFit Cosmetics - Silky-Finish Lipstick
rated 5 of 5
muddles 8/19/2007 9:32:00 PM

I love Benefit Silky finish lipsticks! Makes my lips look luscious and feels moist and silky. I have 2 shades of these--Jing-A-Ling and Rocket Pop. Jing-A-Ling(Lana light neutrals look) is a light ballerina pink (pearl finish) shade, and this is my lips-but-better shade which I apply for a natural no-make-up look. Rocket pop (Gabbi medium neutrals look) is a cinnamon-rosy shade (no shimmers) which looks caramel-rosy on my lips. Both are creamy and sheer, which can be layered on for a more intense colour. Although silky-finish lipsticks moisturize my lips, the staying effect isn't lasting enough--they disappear after 2-3hrs so I've to re-apply often. Still, silky-finish l/s are my favourites I will definitely like to try other shades!

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Sheer Cream Blusher in Shh! [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
muddles 8/19/2007 9:22:00 PM

Shh! Sheer Cream blush gives me a rosy flush on my cheeks (ppp,NC15). It mattifies very quickly after application and has no shimmers.Very pigmented on my skintone so each time I only need a tiny bit of it on each side of my cheeks. A tiny dot is enough, otherwise I'll end up looking like a clown. The amount of product you get for $18 is very miserable imho but as mentioned, only a very tiny bit is needed each time so this will last for ages. I agree with other mua-ers that it is difficult to squeeze the cream blush out of the tube. This is more solid than any usual creams, which makes it quite dificult to blend. I have to rub my cheeks lightly to make sure it blends well without looking uneven. Will not be getting this again mainly because I have too many blushes for now!
