Liquid -Guerlain - Parure Extreme

This is a nice foundation, but it oxidized and turned orange on me in a matter of minutes. Just to make sure my oily skin wasn't the problem, I tested this foundation on my forearm. and my arm turned orange too.

Liquid -Kanebo - Sensai Fluid Finish foundation
mu46032 6/25/2009 6:26:00 PM
I bought Sensai Fluid Finish based on the great reviews. I ordered #202 Soft Beige from Barneys. The shade is a bit too light for my summer skin. I am LM Nude, Sisley Soft Beige (Its hard to find good swatches online.) This is an ordinary foundation - nothing special. I don't think it made my skin look great, nor did it really accentuate any bad skin. It felt heavy as I wore it throughout the day. I think the most disappointing thing about this foundation is that the second or third ingredient is mineral oil! I bought it because it sounded so healthy and good for your skin. Its described as a "water-based" foundation online. My skin loves oil-based cleansers, not oil-based foundations. Will not repurchase.

Liquid -Giorgio Armani - Lasting Silk UV Foundation SPF20
mu46032 4/30/2009 8:25:00 PM
This is even better than my beloved Sisley foundation!. Its super lightweight, non-irritating, and has SPF! I I found a good match in #5. The MA at Saks told me that this was a good neutral shade for fair to light skin like mine. I am LM Nude, PX champagne, BB Sand. I am fairly oily, yet I also have some dry patches from acne meds. The MA reminded me that this is not an oil-controlling foundation, so I would steer away from this one if that is what you are looking for. The coverage and finish reminds me of Prescriptives Virtual Skin, except that this seems less pore-clogging and just better for your skin in general.

Powder -BeneFit Cosmetics - Hello Flawless!
mu46032 3/11/2009 7:00:00 AM
This is a great new powder with SPF 15. It has great coverage, which is what I was looking for because I wear it over sheer foundation. It has a really nice texture too - very smooth and silky. (I couldn't resist buying it because of the texture!!) I am fair-medium and Petal is a good match for me. Petal has yellow undertones which helps mute the red in my skin. The packaging is nice too, not the usual BeneFit cardboard. Its a sturdy plastic, square compact. Fairly expensive at $34 from Sephora.

Lipstick -Giorgio Armani - Sheer Lipstick- #10
mu46032 10/16/2008 6:52:00 AM
I am pretty unimpressed with GA cosmetics in general. This is a very basic (but expensive) sheer pink lipstick that doesn't show up against my light complexion. I rarely wear it because I think it is a boring color on me. I bought it along with GA Blush #10 and I regret both purchases.

Concealers -TheBalm - Time Balm
mu46032 10/5/2008 6:51:00 PM
This is a great undereye concealer. I am surprised that some reviewers have trouble with caking. I am 38 and ALL pot or solid concealers usually cake and show my lines. I am talking about Cle de Peu and Bobbi Brown especially. This doesn't happen with the Balm, but I do use eye cream under it. Right now its HG status. I have this in light and I am LM Nude, Sisley Soft Beige. So glad the Sephora rep got me to try this!

Moisturizers -DHC - Emollient Balm
mu46032 6/30/2008 9:25:00 AM
This product is hard to review because the smell is so strange, that it is hard to get beyond. On first application, it felt nice but it smelled like baby formula, which I thought was kind of interesting at first. As the day went on the milk scent intensified and I could still smell my face by the evening (not a good thing). It reminded me of when my kids were babies and my clothes always smelled like milk. Also, it felt silky at first, but I think it dried out my skin a bit. It's not very moisturizing despite its name. DHC has some real winners, but unfortunately, this is not one of them.

Lips -Vincent Longo - Pearlessence Lip/Cheek Gel Stain in Dolceacqua
mu46032 6/30/2008 9:11:00 AM
Like the previous reviewer said, this is a great and unusual color. Don't be afraid of the color in the tube. It is a silvery purple/pink shade and it looks great on cool undertones. I wear this with Clinique's smoldering plum blush, which complements it perfectly. It can end up looking too frosty if you apply too much, so be careful. Out of habit, I made the mistake of reapplying it too much once and it looked weird. One application lasts for several hours. I can't wait to try other VL lip stains!

Liquid -Biotherm - Sense Aquaradiance Foundation Normal/Combo
mu46032 5/19/2008 4:57:00 PM
I love trying new foundations. I've tried them all, literally! This one is really, really nice for sensitive, combo skin. NOT for super oily girls. Its highly pigmented so you don't need to use a ton of product to get medium coverage. Its fragrance-free and has a great calming effect. I have naturally red skin and this really soothes it and tones it down. It contains thermal water, so I am guessing that is what makes it so calming. I would say that the finish is natural, not really dewy or ultra matte. I have this in 415 and it works well with my NW20 skin. I wanted 420, but they were sold out a month ago. The SPF 15 in this doesn't irritate my skin either.

Foundations -Giorgio Armani - Face Fabric Second Skin Nude Makeup
mu46032 5/5/2008 4:56:00 PM
To me, this is like a tinted primer. It smooths out pores, has a slight tint, but hardly any coverage. Some other reviewers have compared this to a tinted moisturizer, but I don't think this product is moisturizing at all. I would recommend trying this only if you have great skin and if you are not prone to clogged pores.

Liquid -Sisley - Oil Free Fluid Foundation
mu46032 3/18/2008 5:43:00 PM
After using this foundation for two weeks, I feel like I need to go back and edit all of my other foundation reviews. Nothing compares to this elegant, lightweight, oil-free foundation. I've only recently discovered it. It is the only foundation that makes my skin comfortable, doesn't accentuate lines, and doesn't make my skin ultra oily. Its perfect for my skin type, which is currently sensitive and very acne prone. This is very, very expensive at $104 USD, By the way, unlike other reviewers, I need more than one pump to cover my face. I typically use two or three to get the coverage I want and need.

Foundations -Yves Saint Laurent - Perfect Touch Radiant Brush Foundation
mu46032 2/28/2008 11:28:00 AM
I have sensitive, acne prone skin and I'm using Tazorac right now. This foundation is great for my type of skin! Its very calming and covers well. I love Ysl's Touch Eclat and I've known about this foundation for a long time but I didn't try it because I didn't like the attached brush idea. Anyway, the MA at Nordstrom gave me a sample and I love it. I don't use the brush, however. I just put some on the back of my hand and blend with my fingers. For extra coverage I use Origins Silk Screen on top. Its worth a try if you have sensitive skin. UPDATE 5/19: Found out this is not oil-free and I think the lovely fruity fragrance is irritating my skin. I still love they way it looks, however

Liquid -Chanel - Mat Lumiere Long Lasting Luminous Matte Fluid Makeup SPF 15
mu46032 2/5/2008 8:40:00 AM
I bought this in the lightest shade, Cameo and it turned orange within a couple of hours. It also felt very heavy and I couldn't wait to wash it off. Its too bad because, it looked great when the SA first applied it. Chanel foundations never work for me. The only one that did was Universale which is now discontinued. Very expensive at $55 USD.

Moisturizers -Sothys - Creme Reparatrice / Active Cream (Oily Skin)
mu46032 1/29/2008 8:24:00 AM
I am currently using Tazorac and as a result I have dehydrated, sensitive skin which is also very acne prone. I bought this based on the good reviews, but it was really horrible for my skin. First of all, I'm not even sure what this cream is. Its called "active cream." Is it a moisturizer or a treatment? To me, it feels more like a treatment that has very slight hydrating properties. There is nothing on the packaging that clearly states that it is a moisturizer. Whatever it is, it is really thick and it dried out my skin and clogged my pores. It feels like a super thick and heavy primer. The only reason why I am giving it 2 lippies is because it seems to work for lots of people. I'm also wondering if my Tazorac use in combination with the product created my horrible results. I am going to stick with my LRP Toleraine Fluide for now. Its the only moisturizer that doesn't break me out or irritate my sensitive skin.

Lipstick -Clarins - Le Rouge - 610
mu46032 11/1/2007 8:16:00 AM
This is an amazing color for my skin tone and coloring. Its a very neutral taupe, pinkish color. Its one of those lipsticks that looks like nothing special in the tube, but looks incredible on. It has a nice matte finish that is fairly longwearing. Right now, its my HG .
