Misc Beauty Tools -E.L.F. - Studio Makeup Mist & Set Spray

This is a terrific setting spray. The MOST important trick for it however is to transfer the spray into a better bottle. The original bottle is SO ineffective. It sprays terribly, almost like a watergun. Not good at all. I transferred this spray into a better spray bottle (buy an atomizer on ebay or a cheap drugstore spray bottle) and it works like magic. It makes my oily face look dewey and cakey makeup is no longer a problem. I use tit right after I put on my foundation and it seals it so well, that I don't even need to use powder. Yes, the spray smells terrible but it is terrific for making makeup last longer. I love it... in a different bottle, of course.
I wish it wasn't in a tub (for hygienic reasons) but this cream is an absolute dream. The cold weather is so rough on my skin and this magical product has saved me (meaning my hands, my feet, my elbows, my cuticles, even my lips). I leave this tub by my bedside and before clocking out for the day, I put a bit of cream on my hands, rubbing it well into the cuticles and every morning, no matter the weather, I wake up with absolutely perfect, smooth hands. No hangnails for me to bite anymore, no red, patchy dry knuckles to complain about. GET THIS product. It's perfect for everyone. No smell, just a smooth, fast-absorbing, hydrating, wonderful product.
Liquid -Rimmel - Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation

Whoever has a fair skin tone, do yourself a favor and run far, far away from this foundation. While the coverage is nice, the color is horrendous. Within minutes of putting this foundation on, I looked like an extra in an Oompa Loompa special. No good. Yet another few dollars in the trash.
Seriously? I put TTO on a painful cystic pimple a few hours and now it's completely down, no longer painful, sensitive or red? Magic potion indeed. TTO is amazing. Yes, the smell is overwhelming and strong but who cares? This is the most natural, effective option for serious and light acne. I usually wet a cotton ball or pad, put a 3-4 drops of TTO (sometimes adding lavender oil) and wipe all over my face. Let it sink in and watch the magic happen.
Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Now Foods Rosehip Seed Oil

This oil, along with my Sea Buckthorn oil, has transformed my face. My severe and dark acne spots have faded tremendously. My pores are a whole lot smaller. My skin is glowing, which I have NEVER had. The fine lines around my eyes and mouth are fading. Skin feels plumper, brighter, a lot more even. I just absolutely adore this oil. Beware, it is quite thick, so only 3-4 drops are more than enough for the whole face. Also, make sure to apply onto damp skin. This is a "dry" oil and soaks in beautifully when tapped onto slightly wet skin. This oil has SO much vitamin E; it's incredibly nourishing, non-irritating and does not cause extra oil on the skin. It's helped stabilize my oily/combo skin. SO WORTH every penny!
Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Sea Buckthorn Oil

I have the Sibu brand of Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil. I must say, this tiny little bottle has helped transform my face. I used to have horribly discolored scars from acne, uneven skin tone, large pores, etc. I started using this oil a couple of months ago, in conjunction with Rosehip Seed Oil and the few drops of this magical potion have transformed the way my face looks. My scars have lightened SO much, some fine lines on my face have disappeared, and I get ZERO breakouts (on my very sensitive, acne-prone, oily skin). I usually do 3-4 drops of Rosehip Oil, mixing in 3 drops of Sea Buckthorn Oil... rub warm with clean hands, apply onto slightly damp skin, gently patting the oil in... wait a few minutes, apply a very thin layer of oil-free moisturizer and I'm set! This product, along with the Rosehip Oil, has changed my skin and the way I feel about myself. I can even go out with no makeup on and feel comfortable. That's certainly a first.
This eyeliner take the proverbial cake (pun intended). I have not used a better liner and I've tried ALL kinds. I have this in black and it is fantastic! Great, deep black color; liner does not budge; I always have a perfect line and it stays on for at least 12-14 hours. Never once have I had this smudge, not even when sleeping. (Yes, I know, I should take off my makeup before bed.) My trick is to dip the brush into a tiny amount of aloe vera gel and then dip into the liner and voila - perfectly jet black perfect line. Love it.
Yes, there is the weird glue smell; yes, it can look cakey if you don't apply it correctly... BUT, when done right, this is the most wonderful drugstore foundation. I have very oily, very acne-prone and acne-ridden skin. This foundation is absolutely fantastic for my face. It does not break me out, it stays put all day long but doesn't sink into the lines of my face. I am very pale, but the lightest color Ivory is not the best match for me. It's too pink, and turns my face orange. Buff, on the other hand, blends in with my skin tone perfectly and provides wonderful coverage. All my pitted acne scars on my cheeks are smoothed over, my complexion is brightened and I only need a tiny bit of setting powder to have a smooth, clear face. LOVE this product, will continue to buy, for sure. Oh yes, one more thing - I've used a MILLION different eyeshadow primers. I own everything from Urban Decay to ELF, BE, Mac, etc. etc. etc. Nothing sets my eyes better for eyeshadow that this foundation. Not even anything remotely close to a crease all day long, and I have some seriously oily lids. Love it.
Shampoo -Suave - Professionals Almond & Shea Butter
msog177 7/5/2012 1:00:00 PM
I tried... I really did try to love it. This shampoo smells divine and does make hair feel soft and wonderful. But I should have heeded the advice of many previous reviewers - this made my hair fall out like crazy. Now I have to find a product that will reinstate my hair to a better, thicker condition. This is awful - please don't use this shampoo. Your hair will start to fall out and you will regret it quickly.
Sad to say it, but this is a no for me. I love TJ's products, I use the body wash, the face moisturizer, their lotions, soaps, etc. This is the first time I had to get rid of a product from TJ's. The shampoo did not clean my hair sufficiently, and only left it really rough, dry and tangled. Not even the heaviest conditioner could repair that damage. I have fine, wavy/curly, frizzy hair and this shampoo did me no favors. I had to toss it and picked up Suave Professionals Almond and Shea Butter Shampoo which is stellar (and about $3)!
Absolutely, positively the best mascara. I have very thin eyelashes, they aren't very long at all. But a couple of coats of this mascara makes my eyes look amazing. The lashes look light, long, and voluminous all at the same time. I usually wait about 30 seconds between each coat, that's the best trick for me. The mascara doesn't clump, it stays on all day long, no flaking. I have yet to find another product, drugstore or department store, that works half as well as this. HG 100%.
Does a product with over 500 reviews need another one? Well... YES! This thing is a miracle indeed. Dirt cheap, so moisturizing, gives my crazy, poofy, dry, unmanageable curls such great TLC. The smell is strong but I love it. And honestly, $4 for this magic? Sign me up!
Gels/Soaps -Trader Joe's - (Joes) Tea Tree Tingle Body Wash
msog177 6/27/2012 1:22:00 PM
This is, and will continue to be, my go-to body wash. I've gone through all the usual - Body Shop, Bath/Body Works, L'Occitane, as well as all the drugstore washes. Nothing comes close to the feeling I get from this product. I smells absolutely wonderful - the peppermint is divine. It's so relaxing and all the ingredients are wonderful. The product washes off really well, never leaving a soapy residue, but it does do its job. I used to suffer from a lot of acne on the back and this body has helped so much. It has fantastic ingredients, mostly natural, which I love. The body wash lathers up so nicely and provides just enough moisture. The price can't be beat, the bottle is great too.
Loose Powders -E.L.F. - Studio High Definition Powder
msog177 6/26/2012 1:14:00 PM
Seriously? $6 for this powder? One that rivals Mac and all other fancy brands? Yes, I'll take it. I have been using this powder for a long time, I've gone through many, many containers of it and I sincerely hope it's never discontinued. This is the perfect setting powder. It's finely milled, it blends into the skin perfectly, and provides a great satiny finish. Bronzer and blush look nicely blended, the effect is very soft. The packaging is bulky and not purse-friendly but I don't mind because it lasts all day so no reapplying is necessary. I don't take off the entire sticker from the sifter - I just poke a few holes in order to avoid getting a ton of product, since only a tiny bit is needed. Love this powder, it's quite terrific.
Absolutely wonderful powders. I read about them on some makeup blog and decided to give it a shot. I've never had much luck with Milani - their shadows and other products seem too grainy and not of high quality. However, I can't say the same about these powders. I bought this product in two colors - Hermosa Rose and Amber Nectar. Both are quite wonderful. The texture is lovely, sinks right into the skin, doesn't leave a grainy residue, the colors are beautiful. I'm an NC10, and both colors are perfect. Hermosa Rose I use as a bronzer (needs layering, even for my pale skin) and the Amber Nectar is more of a highlighter. I like them so much I think I'll buy the third color as well - it looks like a beautiful pink (called Beauty's Touch). Love these powders, so happy to have found them. They help my acne-ridden pale skin glow.
