Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - eye crease brush
rated 4 of 5
msmarielliejellie 11/5/2012 12:18:00 AM

For the price, this is a good brush, the shape is perfect when you're applying and blending your crease color, it's not too big that it makes your eyes look muddy. the bristles are really soft and it can get, deposit and blend color easily. This brush does shed a bit but for the price, you can't beat it.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lucas' Papaw Ointment
rated 5 of 5

This is an amazing product! I had allergies from an exfoliating cream that left sides of my mouth dry, flaky, and itchy and this saved it. I use this before I go to bed and after two days the flaking was gone and the redness was reduced. I also use this on my lips as a lipbalm and it feels less greasy and heavy than my normal vaseline. I always keep one with me.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
rated 2 of 5
msmarielliejellie 10/13/2012 1:29:00 AM

Unfortunately I didn't like this product, and neither did my sister when I gave it to her to try. Colorwise, I used to have a color match with the older formulation but when I was time for me to buy it, they immediately changed the formulation to the 24hr one with the Softflex and my original shade is not completely too light for me. After talking myself into buying it with much hesitation (BAD IDEA), I got this thinking if it does go on too light, I can mix it in with my summer foundation. This thing smells so strong and chemical-y that the moment I tried it at home, I already know that I won't be putting on my face every single day. The packaging also sucks since it doesn't have a pump and the liquid is a bit thick so it's a real struggle to try to get this thing out. I'd appreciate it more if Revlon just made this in squeeze type tubes, that way even though the product is thick, you don't have to waste a ton of product just getting it out of the glass container. As mentioned this thing is really thick which I also don't like because it feels so heavy on. I feel like spreading tar on my face every time I used this, or at least tried to use it since I'd give it a few hours before I'm forced to take it all off because my skin can't breathe. Taking it off is also not easy. Try putting a swatch in your hand and washing it off because it won't. I've had my swatch on for at least three days before I even started seeing it fade, When you plan on using this on an everyday basis either dilute the product with your face moisturizer or have heavy duty makeup remover on hand.

Blush -Sleek - Contour Kit
rated 4 of 5
msmarielliejellie 10/13/2012 1:19:00 AM

I really love this, you get one shimmery champagne color for the highlight and a matte bronzer for the contour and both a pretty pigmented. Unfortunately I think I got this in a shade too dark. The only color available where I got this was medium or dark and medium was too deep for my skintone. It is a good contour but after using NYX Taupe blush, I don't think I'll be using orangey or brownish contours anymore because it just looks...well...too orange and unnatural. I saw a video by the Pixiwoo sisters saying that if one wants a natural contour, they should look at the natural shadows on their faces and unfortunately my shadows are more of a cooler, taupe color rather than a warm bronze. I still use the highlighter shade though, it makes for a great natural highlight, And did I mention that I also use this palette on my eyes? The highlighter is a gorgeous all over lid and brow color and the bronze side is a great crease shade too. Love it. Just not for contouring.

Primer/ Corrector -Urban Decay - All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray
rated 3 of 5
msmarielliejellie 10/13/2012 1:12:00 AM

I'm pretty weird about this product. First of all, let me tell you about my situation. I have dry skin. I don't wear primer, I don't powder, and I don't have to blot or set my makeup because it pretty much stays on and a good amount of time. But this was a gift and I thought that living in a very humid climate, this would make my makeup look and last so much longer. Well, it sorta did. I used this to sandwich my makeup. I don't wear foundation, only a liquid concealer that was long wearing in between and when I used this, the first thing I noticed was how 'fake' my skin looked. It literally looked like it had a satiny film on top, it doesn't look greasy or shiny, just not like skin. I guess this was one thing that didn't work for me, as it ought to look best when sprayed atop a powder when you set it in order to take away the cakey look and make skin look more natural...this overdid it. The second this that didn't work out well was when I sweated...my face released two times the amount of sweat I normally do on a pretty hot day, I think it was because the product was holding onto my skin too much and it just couldn't breathe so it had to work twice as much. My face looked like I was throw a bucket of water and it was just nasty. BUT--it gets better, not to mention a bit weird. When I patted my face with a tissue to get rid of the sweat. NO MAKEUP RESIDUE, which was a miracle. All those nasty sweat did nothing on my makeup, it really did hold it down and not make it melt away. And when I looked into my mirror, my makeup looked like nothing happened. I'm giving this a 3 because I like it and I hate it at the same time. I don't think I'll be wearing this on an everyday basis granted it made my skin look weird but if I do decide to go out or on pretty long days, I'd spritz this on.

Lips -Nivea - A Kiss of Milk and Honey
rated 3 of 5
msmarielliejellie 10/10/2012 12:30:00 AM

I bought this after hearing reviews of it saying that it smells and tastes (yeah, it was mentioned a couple if times. Don't ask me why they know) amazing. So, out of curiosity, I bought this thinking that it would. It doesn't. I don't like the scent at all. To me it reminds me not of milk and honey but my grandmother's old rose perfume, which I would't want to put anywhere near my lips. The good thing though, this moisturizes pretty well. It goes on light and hardly undetectable on my lips and not greasy. It stays on and absorbs into lips pretty well leaving it supple and smooth. Will probably get this in the normal flavor next time considering I can't stand the horrible scent.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Panther
rated 5 of 5
msmarielliejellie 10/8/2012 3:10:00 AM

Wet n Wild shadows are by far my favorite brand of eyeshadows--more than MAC or Urban Decay. This goes on extremely pigmented and soft and I would't be lying if I told you that a quick tap is all you need for a bold outer v contour. I use this everyday together with Nutty and Brulee to line my lower lash line. The product is small enough to throw in your makeup bag but it contains enough product to really stretch the $1 pricetag. Definitely the most pigmented black eyeshadow out there, more intense than Mac Carbon or Urban Decay Blackout. A staple if you love your smokey eyes.

Other -MAC - Back-2-MAC Recycling Program
rated 5 of 5
msmarielliejellie 10/6/2012 6:30:00 AM

This is an amazing program. I'm one away from handing in my 3rd exchange and 3rd lippie! I know there have been cases where the SAs wouldn't accept pan-less packages but where I had mine exchanged, no questions were asked. It was as simple as them getting the containers and me picking out my lipsticks. One thing though, they can't exchange your lipstick if you don't like the color or the product. But for getting it for free, there's no complaining.

Powder -Revlon - PhotoReady Translucent Finisher
rated 2 of 5
msmarielliejellie 10/6/2012 4:27:00 AM

This product is a bit disappointing. I don't know how this is supposed to work as s powder or a translucent powder because it neither does both. It barely controls shine and it doesn't make my makeup last longer nor does it even look good in photos because it's nothing but powder and glitters. Won't repurchase.

BB Cream -Skin79 - Super+ BB Cream Pink Label
rated 3 of 5
msmarielliejellie 10/6/2012 4:16:00 AM

This is one of those typical Asian Bb Creams. It comes in one color (which I find too grey for my NC20-25 skintone, unfortunately) and goes on a bit thick with medium to buildable full coverage. I got this in a set of four or five bb creams from skin79. It evens out my skintone and covers minor blemishes but when I wear this, I still have to wear undereye concealer. One thing I don't like about it is that it tends to be too heavy. Even though this ought to be lighter than a foundation, I feel my skin unable to breathe. I can only wear this for a limited time because I can feel it weighing my face down. :(

Foundations -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 6 for Combination/Oily Skin
rated 3 of 5
msmarielliejellie 10/6/2012 4:06:00 AM

This is a great foundation for people who don't like touching up your makeup throughout the day. It lasts all day which is both good and bad because for someone who doesn't have the time, this can help a lot but for someone like me who wishes to take off her makeup quickly at night, it is a pain. I also find it too thick and hard to apply. It dries quickly when you apply it so buffing it quickly is key. I tried mixing this with my moisturizer to make it thinner, but it's not the same. Won't be repurchasing but good to have around in case I want something extremely long wearing.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Painterly
rated 3 of 5
msmarielliejellie 10/6/2012 3:51:00 AM

This is a great product. It conceals any uneveness on my eyes, makes my shadows look brighter and lasts longer. However I find that it may not suit my undertone. I'm an NC20-25 and Soft Ochre may suit me better as this has a pinky purpley tint to it.

Eyes -MAC - Paint Pot in Bare Study
rated 4 of 5
msmarielliejellie 10/6/2012 3:46:00 AM

I live MAC paintpots because they last forever on me! These are my first eye primers and eye bases a few years ago and when I lost my tan, I switched from Rubenesque to this. I find this really creamy and blendable. The color is a bit more golden compared to Stila Kitten Smudge Pot and Barely Beige Maybelline color Tattoo. Too be honest this is my favorite from the lot. A regular in my everyday makeup routine at the same time great just on its own.

Lipstick -MAC - Retro Matte - Ruby Woo
rated 4 of 5
msmarielliejellie 10/5/2012 10:32:00 PM

This is a gorgeous deep red color that's very wearable. I got this from my back to Mac when I swatched it in the store and the SA complimented me and saying to looks perfect on my skintone. I love that it is matte, a bit of a struggle to get it on perfectly but I find that it makes it more wearable because it isn't out there. Apart from wearing it full on, I like using this as a tint. I dab it lightly on my lips and use my finger to blend it out. It lasts FOREVER when used this way. A perfect lippie for someone who wants a 2 second makeover from day to night.

Concealers -MAC - select cover-up
rated 5 of 5
msmarielliejellie 10/4/2012 9:55:00 AM

This might sound cliche from someone reviewing concealers but here goes: I suffer from dark circles and this is one that helps reduce that problem if I'm in a rush to do my makeup. I don't wear foundation anymore but concealer is definitely a staple considering my situation. It stays the whole day but it creases on me. I'd say the coverage is medium to buildable full coverage which is mediocre considering this ought to be a concealer thus it also ought to be full coverage. I also like that it's small enough to carry with you in your clutch. I keep two of these in my bag (I have one that stays permanently in my purse the other I tend to grab from my desk and bring with me when I'm rushing. Don't think you're being skimped on product. A little goes a long way. Coming from someone who uses only concealer, half a pea size amount is enough to cover my eyes and lids, around my nose and mouth and in between my brows to add brightness. A decent concealer but I'm still on the lookout for the best one for me. UPDATE: I added another lippie because I tried different methods of applying this and found one that doesn't lose its coverage and at the same time prevents creasing. I pat this on my dark circles and blemishes with my finger to distribute and warm up the product and use the shiseido perfect foundation brush to pat and blend it in place. It looks absolutely amazing on when I use this method, undetectable and flawless. This has easily become my HG concealer/foundation. Will repurchase and buy more backups soon. PS. A dot of this mixed in with your moisturizer makes an excellent tinted moisturizer!
