Eye Shadow -Besame - Vintage Alluring Eye Shadow
mslipsticklvr 7/8/2010 8:50:00 PM
I am disappointed with all the complaints on Besame Cosmetics, espcially the classic line. Yes, the compacts, lipsticks are small. But THEY ARE HISTORICALLY ACCURATE packages. It kills me that many of you reviewers didn't do your homework. The makeup has a high pigment and you don't need much to wear. Even though you cannot find the full Classic Line anymore, if you do, I would say rethink your thoughts on this gem. The lipsticks are the original bullet casings from WWII. As it the rest of the line with the packaging as I mentioned. Shame some of you cannot understand this. If you are not into vintage, don't buy it. It works for me and I haven't found another to replace it.

Bronzers -Too Faced - Snow Bunny
mslipsticklvr 7/6/2010 8:09:00 PM
Okay, I know I have been hard lately onToo Faced products but you'll be happy to know I think I found something I can love. Snow Bunny Carribean in a Compact arrived today in the mail, another of my ebay finds. I do like this. It is "Subtly Sun-Kissed Bonzing Powder". I was just about to chuck the whole bronzing powder, gel, cream thing into oblivion, my apologizes to Bobbi Brown, when this made me love it again. It just seemed to make me look Aspeny like it claims,no I haven't been to Aspen but I have been to the snow on a sunny day. I like the fact I can wear it alone or with the whole makeup job. It's cute and I feel like I can carry this around with me in my handbag and pat some here and there or everywhere! It is pricey but you may find a bargin like I did on ebay- I had to bid on this, $18.00 is better than going into Ulta or Sephora, I think it retails for $27 or $28, I could be wrong but I did get free S&H. Got it in about a week. If you want the lower end version it would be the Wet n' Wild Megaglo Illuminating powder in Catwalk Pink. I gave that a raving review. In fact, I bought that thinking I would never own the Too Faced Snow Bunny and that turned out to be a gem! Would I buy it again? Yes, but only if I can find another smoking deal. Do I really love it? Not as much as the Wet N' Wild version but it's up there. Will I give Too Faced another chance? Of course. And I will rethink the whole bronzing industry. I will most likely turn to ELF and I should be satisfied. Their duo blush/bronzer compact made it in Allure Magazines June 2010 issue as a Twice as Nice mention in the Bonze Works article and hey, it's only $3.00 bucks! I do own that and it works. Anyway, I do love this and am a happy snow bunny right now as I write this and I do recommend this product for those of you who want a SUBTLE highlighter look. Very pretty on the skin no matter the tone I would say. Happy makeup shopping and good luck!!

Blush -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Glo Illuminating Powder - Catwalk Pink #345

I am kinda impressed with this little product. Why? It does a better job than my Too Faced Bronzers and Highlighters. Not bad for a drug store brand. It's pretty and does help my skin look glowy and rosy. I was afraid of going with a pink because of my yellow undertone skin but this turned out to be worth the risk. A bit here and there around my face and I am good to go. I can even use it with just a press powder underneath and not worry about how I look being under madeup. It made me look like I got some great sun at the beach. I live in Arizona and it just reminded me of my California days in the sun. Didn't expect the fab outcome but am beyond happy with mine. This is a keeper for me. I do recommend it. I will buy it again. I didn't break the bank.

Bronzers -Too Faced - Pink Leopard Bronzing Powder
mslipsticklvr 7/2/2010 8:36:00 PM
Okay, here we are again with Too Faced, maybe I am expecting TOO Much with the price and all but being that I received my Too Faced Pink Leopard Bronzing Powder from ebay dirt cheap ($7.00 free S&H) I can't complain. Well, I seem to be in my Too Faced phase which is quickly expiring as I receive these products. I am thinking it is more geared towards the younger crowd as the packaging is made for them anyway it seems. This too didn't do much for me in the way of color. I have to layer and layer and still add something else from my makeup pile to get anything. I really thought I was going to get a result of beauty and pinky bronze goodness but that quickly fell flat for me. This too will go to my daughter with my other Too Faced products. Would I recommend it? Hmmmm. I would say to younger women and teens. And get the mini first or even try it over the counter if you can. Will I buy it again, no. Nothing else to say about this product. Perhaps a better review from my 20 year old daughter will ensue. UPDATE #2 Guess what for all the harshness I went on about this product I ended up buying the full size. After working with the Pink Leopard for a while with different styles it won me over. I think it is better as a blushy highlighter rather than a bronzer so maybe I am becoming wiser with all these new fangled bronzers and highlighters. So I am retracting my review but only a bit! BTW, I got the full size for only $15.00 free S&H. And the money went for a charity. And yes, I would buy this again and refer it as well but I would add my two cents in to anyone who was considering it.

Highlighters -Too Faced - Absolutely Invisible Candlelight
mslipsticklvr 7/2/2010 8:02:00 PM
This is probably a better review for Latinas or I should say Olive skin ladies with golden or yellow undertones... Well, I waited to have this product for ages. I read the reviews and I was sold! I found a spanking deal on ebay for $9.99 free S&H, no bidding just "buy it now", got it in a week, and it was too good to be true. Received the compact today and rushed to put it on by a window with the Arizona sunshine- great lighting. On and on and on I powdered my face to no avail. I thought well maybe I need foundation okay? So put on some liquid foundation thinking I'd have a better reaction, to no avail once again. I don't know what I was expecting. Oh! the candlelight glow. No candlelight glow. Sorry. It's okay. You can wear it outdoors and not worry about looking like a disco ball or a gold statue. I compared it to my regular ole standby Revlon transparent powder and got a better result with that. Even my $1.00 ELF (eyeslipsface) compact did the job without the foundation when it came to coverage. So then I thought "use a makeup brush" and that helped without going through the whole compact in one day. If you have olive skin, I recommend using a makeup brush. Also, find a better puff then what is with the product. Would I buy it again? Probably, but that is because I am a makeup addict. I don't foresee myself going through it too fast anyway. Would I recommend it? To young women and teens, yes. They may have a better outcome with all that collagen. I won't kept it in my handbag like I thought for touchups. It's more a "before I leave" and then carry a regular otc brand compact for my daily touchups. I would say get it for the same deal I did. I wouldn't spend the $25 Too Faced is asking. It isn't worth $25.00. It's good to have it just in case but isn't "a necessary" unless you have a special occasion and then just work with it. Good luck.

Crème -Cover Girl - Simply Ageless
mslipsticklvr 6/29/2010 8:23:00 PM
I received this product to try out with BuzzAgent. I used it and loved it. I didn't think I would have the reaction to the makeup as much as I did! Together with the corrector, it actually covered up my pores! That is a first for me as my pores on my nose WERE large. The coverage is flawless and my husband even mentioned my skin looked "so smooth"! He was not aware of the makeup change or that I was trying it out a new product. It does give that airbrush look and my skin looks "runway dewy" something I haven't been able to achieve with other foundations. The concealer is a winner. It does a great job covering my dark circles plus made my eyes look brighter! The corrector also took away the puffiness I have under my eyes plus covered my pores as I said earlier. I have recently noticed that when I remove my makeup now the puffiness and dark circles under my eyes are now gone so it must be the Olay in the product which reduces puffiness and dark circles as claimed! My skin tone is much more even now and my dark age spots are gone. My pores are now less visable and I am not emabarrassed anymore when I have no makeup on. The fine lines and wrinkles I HAD are less visable as well. The blush, which was "Lush Berry" is so pretty. I have an olive skin tone and it just made my entire look pop! I even use it on my lips! I had my husband photograph me which is a first as I don't like being photographed. Kudos to you Covergirl and Olay you have a winner on your hands! By the way, I will be 50 this July and my friends and family say I do not look anywhere near fifty! Thank you I am finally happy with a makeup product. I really feel pretty now. That is important to me.

Treatments (Eye) -L'Oreal - Lash Boosting Serum
mslipsticklvr 5/18/2010 9:11:00 PM
I had to try this product because I was not able to wear mascara anymore as I had few and small straight lashes. So I went out and bought tons of different fake lashes to use, not happy! Then this product came along. I saw that my hubby, who has glaucoma and takes drops for his condition, lashes growing fast and long I became jealous! I didn't want glaucoma but I should have the long beautiful lashes as a woman. Then I saw the advertisement for L'Oreal Lash Boosting Serum. I couldn't afford the Latisse. Off I went with my coupons for the Serum and mascara and not bad coupons, $3.00 off! I noticed a huge difference within two weeks. I use it faithfully and have purchsed the mascara as well. I am able to buy mascara now- all of them and haven't had to use fake lashes. I should change my name to mascaralvr, lol! I am a diabetic and nearly 50 years so I thought it wouldn't work but it does. I am not sure why it works for some and not for others but I am happy and content. Everyday I put my makeup on and my mascara with glee. Thank you L' Oreal. Any questions just write! I have to add that it also helps your eyebrows. I accidentally took off too much and within a month of putting on the product where I wantd it to grow, it started growing. So I am very happy with this product! Kudos to you L'Oreal.
