Eyeliner -Stila - Kajal Eye Liner in Topaz
ms_angry_nipples 5/18/2013 7:31:00 PM
Intention was to get this for waterline brightening. White is too bold but nude is perfect. This stuff is so soft and smears easily. It always gets stuck onto my contacts and won't come off until I take my contacts off and rub it with solution. It's annoying that I won't repurchase and it's expensive. I'm trying rimmel or Mac next because the smearing off my waterline into my lenses throughout the day is annoying. It also clumps into my bottom lashes. Sharpening is also so wasteful because the product is so soft that you lose so much. Do not recommend.

Makeup Brushes -Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman - Expert Face Brush
ms_angry_nipples 2/15/2013 2:52:00 PM
Why I needed this: I wanted a foundation buffing brush in my collection. I have a mac 187, mac 189 (LE), and a no-label branded foundation brush from IMATS. The 187 is too big for liquid foundation,189 is thick and leaves streaks, and the IMATS foundation brush is so flimsy. Price: I did not want to buy a sigmax F82 considering i had to pay for shipping and wait. The F82 is $18 + shipping...boo! Crown Brushes now sells a similar dense synthetic round top brush called Infinity Small Round buffer for $9 + shipping. Again, i didn't want to pay shipping and wait. And there are no stores that carry Crown brushes (and i'm not waiting for IMATS). I paid $8.99 + 20% discount promo at Ulta for this RT brush. Product: The bristles are amazingly soft, dense and easy to clean and dries quickly. No shedding and no funky smell when it first got it. It doesn't absorb product, and because of it's roundness and softness, it's so easy to get into the nose area and eye area. The handle is very durable and it's so cute when it stands up. I reach for this brush only for foundation application. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Because of it's amazing price and performance, i'm definitely stocking up on these to give away as presents/stocking stuffers/etc when there's a sale.

Mascara -Maybelline - one by one, waterproof
ms_angry_nipples 1/27/2013 2:26:00 PM
Volume - decent/good (if you put two layers) Length - good Curl - good Product: Dries quickly, can be layered twice before getting too clumpy. Rubber bristles on this mascara are a lot easier to handle than CG lash blast. The end can be easily used on bottom lashes too. Bristles are good to reach your real lashes into your fake lashes together. no smell (that i can detect). Very difficult to take off, it's very water proof (even using lancome duo phase) or Vichy cleansing milk. I found no smudging but "minor" flaking after a long night but i did find residue the following morning after washing my face. It holds a curl really, really well even pushing my eyelid into a double fold. Price: Cheap, you can find this on sale at walmart, london drugs, or shoppers drug mart for 4.99 in my woods of Canada. Packaging: Bold and cute, i like it. Basic tube and easily can find it on my vanity. Buy again: Yes, but only if it's on sale :) About me: Monolid with decent amount and length lashes but point downward, eye cream user (normal/non oily eyelids).

Tinted Moisturizer -NARS - Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer
ms_angry_nipples 9/4/2012 3:21:00 AM
I'm a NC30 and use MAC MSF Natural in Medium Dark to set it. I have combo skin. It smells nice, offers SPF protection, light coverage and evens skintone. My skin feels softer when i use it and it's quite hydrating. The color blends outs and hides the redness in some areas. If you have discoloration you will definitely need a concealer under the tinted moisturizer. The finish is satiny (even if the MSF natural applied). I love the product and i would recommend trying this over a heavy BB cream. I feel this product combines their luxury skincare line with their famous Sheer glow foundation. Price - higher end but cheaper than laura mercier and stila on a per ml basis. Packaging quality - i love squeeze tub, flip cap with a small opening. Allows control of the product coming out. It's a shorter, flater tube.

Blush -Cargo - Prague
ms_angry_nipples 9/4/2012 3:15:00 AM
Price: I bought this on clearance for only $5 CAD! So i'm biased because i would not have purchased it had it not been that cheap. I rated it a 3 basing on the regular price of $32 CAD regularly. Yes it's pricey but this has more product than Nars and is just as pigmented. Hence a rating of 3. $/mg is better than Mac and Nars. Packaging Quality - metal tin. Quite sturdy. However, annoying cuz you can't see the product until you open it. Rating of 4. It would be nice if there is a clear top and hinge. Buy again: Yes! it's a beautiful brown mauve PERFECT for sculpted cheeks and you don't need a bronzer after. I have light/medium skintone and the mauve adds to a different dimension. I am used to using Nars Madly but Madly is more of a dusty brown rose while Prague is a dusty brown mauve. Overall good product!

Mascara -Rimmel - Glam'eyes lash flirt
ms_angry_nipples 9/4/2012 3:06:00 AM
I have lashes that point downwards because of my monolids. good mascaras are strong enough to push my lids up and hold a curl. This mascara (I got on sale), doesn't do anything for my lashes...maybe some length but ZERO volume. It weighs my lashes down if I try more coats. The mascara is a flat black matte and doesn't flake or smudge but there are better mascaras out there for the price. One good upside, is that this mascara is excellent for bottom lashes. Not only does it weigh it down (which is what you want with bottom lashes...to go down and darken), but the comb is easy to maneuver. Again, there are better mascaras (i.e. maybelline lash discovery) that work the bottom lashes better. Only plus side is that it's decent drug store price with so-so quality. The packaging is so cute...but cute quilted packaging can't compensate a mediocre product. Not impressed, and will not buy again.

Brows -Annabelle - Eyebrow Pencil
ms_angry_nipples 10/31/2010 6:27:00 AM
Cheap pencil, works well! I have dark ash brown hair and i use taupe to get that two shade lighter look. The taupe has a strong gray/clay light brown to it. I love the tint effect gives on my eyebrows . (note: I don't have a problem with scarce brows, they have medium bushiness...if you shave off ur brows or have sparse brows..i think the taupe may be too light and make you look fake) Product is sturdy and does have that waxy feel. But that waxy application also keeps the hairs in place. The waxy feeling goes away (likely heat from skin) but brows are tamed. Price is lower/med drug store price range $7-8.range (i usually wait for a good sale) Packaging, the cap does have a sturdy stiff brush however i don't like how it's so straight and slightly too long. I prefer thin angled brow brushes that are shorter in length. (i'm comparing to my Chanel eyebrow pencil) The pencil is small and with daily use, requires a new one every 6 months or so.

Polishes -OPI - Panda-monium Pink
ms_angry_nipples 8/22/2010 4:11:00 AM
As described it has a lilac light pink. Colour can be pasty/chalky and does require 2+ coats to fully cover the nail. I would not recommend this for a French manicure look, it's too thick and "fake" looking. Although it dries fast, i find it difficult to maneuver to get a non-streak application. The top of my bottle also chunks up a bit too! I went through quite a lot of the bottle to do my toes and finger nails. I have NC30 skin and it looks very milky pinkon me. Not buying again, and this is a product i regret buying.

Hair Color -L'Oreal - les true brunettes
ms_angry_nipples 8/21/2010 10:17:00 PM
I hate this stuff! Better stick with the regular superior preference ash brown series. I have dark brown hair and thought I could go 2 shades lighter with the ash tone to cool down the typical brassy orange colour that normally comes with Asian hair. I was so wrong. I wish i checked mua before buying this crap. Stay away! Stay far far away! You get orange uneven brown hair. I'm waiting two weeks before I shamefully see my hair stylist. So sad..... I've dyed my hair at home a few times but this dye is crap!

Polishes -OPI - Baguette Me Not
ms_angry_nipples 8/14/2010 3:29:00 AM
I randomly picked this up on clearance at my local salon thinking it was a coral dusty rose. When I applied at home in natural lighting it showed up more pinkish. Then when I went outside near sunset it looked dark orange toned red. In most indoor lighting it's coral. A very strange and unique nail polish. It dries quickly and I only need one coat. The brush is so easy to use and wide to get more area. It's also work appropriate without being boring so I plan to use this one a lot. For ref I'm nc30 with yellow undertones. :-)

Eye Shadow -MAC - Soft Brown
ms_angry_nipples 8/9/2010 3:24:00 PM
My Holy Grail crease color. Smooth texture, easy to blend, great color payoff. Looks boring but trust me, everyone needs a go-to crease color! And your crease should not be over-powering your basic everyday look. I have yellow undertones with monolids (NC25-NC30). I don't have a visible crease and the skin around my lid is naturally slightly pink. I've tried Cork and copperplate for crease colors but nothing compares to the results i get with Soft Brown. It's appears to be a peachy brown and when I apply it, it gives me some depth without looking like a cut crease but visible enough so that I look like I have a crease. A friend (she's a monolid and paler than me) really liked it on me and we both went to Mac to get one for her. however it didn't work on her. She's NW20 with pink undertones. It make her look like she had a swollen eye. She ended up with Wedge to get the similiar effect.

Loose Powders -NARS - Beach
ms_angry_nipples 8/9/2010 3:12:00 PM
I was actually color matched with Eden in the powders but the makeup Artist suggested i buy Beach (I'm usually a NC25). Why would i buy 1 level deeper? Reason: These powders are mattifying. They are so finely milled, sets foundations and tinted moisturizers very well. However, if i get my exact shade, my entire face would look very flat with no dimension. So she suggested going with warmer tone (darker yellow) for these reasons (1) Warm my face up without bronzer, (2) be used all year round when in the summer i get darker and (3) match my neck better which is often slightly darker (4) if i ever buy a foundation too light, i can use this to better match my skin. By that advice, i was really impressed. I have had this container for over a year and still haven't finished it. The packaging is sleek and it's a good size. There is a soft round sponge which i use to press/roll the powder onto my face. If you use a brush you end up dusting the product everywhere. You want to roll the product with the sponge puff and actually set the foundation. I do still own my MAC Select Sheer Powder in pressed form because i don't like the flimsy sponge the Nars pressed powder come in. I am rebuying this loose powder for home use again when i run out...whenever that is! :)

Mascara -NYX - NYX Doll Eye Mascara- Long Lash
ms_angry_nipples 8/5/2010 5:01:00 PM
I <3 Nyx's doll eyes mascara in Volume. I decided to try length. I have short, stubby asian lashes. This stuff is really good for the natural look. It added length given the fibers in the mascara (sorta like Fiberwig but 1/3 of the price). I actually reach for this everyday because it's easier to work with than the NYX volume and is more of the natural look. To get some more volume out of this mascara i suggest putting on your setting powder last and dusting a bit of it on your lashes then applying this mascara (ONE COAT ONLY!) I find the mascara quite waterproof and doesn't really flake unless you rub your eye. It washes easily with warm water and face wash. Depending on which batch you get..i sometimes get drier formula than others...but doesn't really impact the application, it's just something i noticed. The bottle is really cute and chic. There's no scent and i get about 4 months wear before it stinks! The brush is the traditional bristle brush (vs. rubber cones) and is an hour glass shape. Overall 5 lippies, cheap works and a staple in my books.

Polishes -OPI - Tickle my France-y
ms_angry_nipples 5/8/2010 2:29:00 PM
It's a neat alternative to nude peachy/pink nails. It's a muted taupey slight pinky brown. It requires two coats to get a clean solid colour on my finger and toe nails and it dries to a semi-matte finish. I usually use a glossy top coat. I find the formula dries quickly than my other nailpolishes. It's a very natural/work appropriate colour. If i was going at night...i probably would opt for a brighter/vibrant nailpolish.

Cleansers -Vichy - Purete Thermale Detoxifying Rinse-off Foam Cleanser
ms_angry_nipples 11/11/2008 2:59:00 AM
Love love this stuff. I've been using this for 3 years now, my HG!!! It's a cream mousse-like face wash. nice refreshing smell. it doesn't dry the skin but it effectively removes any residue makeup. I've got drycombo skin. a really oily t-zone. I recently bought 4 bottles since it was 25% off and buy one get one free. haha. All my skincare cleansers are Vichy. it's the best drug store brand out there. It effectively keeps me pimple-free. Also i use this morning and night sometimes without moisturizing or using toner. :)
