Scrubs -The Body Shop - Africa Spa Body Salt Scrub
rated 4 of 5

This has got to be one of the best body scrubs ive used. I make my own scrubs and feel those are more exfoliating but my olive oil base (equal amts of sugar and olive oil plus 1 juiced lemon. Refrigerate unused portions) but the olive oil base is too oily so I have to wash it off. I also find that using scrubs on dry skin instead of.wet skin makes it more exfoliating. After scrubbing, add some.water to dissolve the sugars and salt and you can shave your legs. This scrub, if used on dry skin right before a shower, will give you baby soft skin and I dont even have to wash it off like other scrubs. Lotion is also optional since it has moisturizers.

Shampoo -The Body Shop - Rainforest Balance Shampoo

This shampoo is meant for oily scalp. If you don't have oily scalp, stay away from it because it will strip your scalp of its natural protective oils. That said, for those of is who need daily washing, using this shampoo actually lets us get away with 2nd day hair and that's almost uncalled for if you have oily scalp. Do use a moisturizing conditioner at the ends, away from your scalp. Its also great for deep cleansing if you can't use it daily and great for washing stubborn liquid foundation off brushes. Also, make sure you follow the directions : small amount on your palm, make it bubble with a bit of water BEFORE applying to soaked hair. Dont apply the product directly from the bottle to your scalp as all the body shop shampoos are very concentrated. Also SLS-free shampoos have little lather because there are none of the sudsing detergents found in regular shampoos, those are the stuff that builds up and dries out our hair. I hope it helps. On any case, if you still can't use it on your hair, your make up brushes can use it :)

aarrgh, can i give this a 0?? this by far is the worst razor ive ever used and that includes those cheap pink disposable ones that come in 10/pack. no matter how many times i go thru my legs, i still have some stubbles left. AND because of that my skin feels raw and itchy even after i apply lotion (and applying lotion stings my skin). i bought a pack with 2 cartridges and after giving up on the first (about 4 uses), i gave the new one to my SIL and asked her if it would work better for her: it didnt. she said she felt stubbles too after her shower. dont waste your money on this one.

HG for lazy days!!! there are days when you dont have time or the inclination to apply a full face. some of you are blessed with clear skin but those of us who have to cover up something can definitely work with this. wash your face and apply this, mascara and lip tint, youre good to go! no powder needed, you just get a nice healthy glow. dewy, not oily or matte, just in between. i love it!

Primer/ Corrector -Make Up For Ever - HD Microperfecting Primer

we all know everybody's skin reacts differently. ive used bare escentuals, laura mercier and smashbox and they didnt work on me at all. those products broke me out. yet some love them, but i had to give theme up. i never thought id ever use primer again :) i bought this because the reviews say the HD line works best together. they are so right! the green primer evened out my red tones, the blue brightened around my eyes, forehead and i used the neutral everywhere else. you dont have to use all of them, but i had samples, so i tried em all haha. my make up glided. i definitely noticed how little foundation i needed to put on. it doesnt feel heavy like the other primers ive used, i never looked oily morning till night and best of all even after i slept with it on, i never woke up with little zit sprinkles :)

Loose Powders -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Loose Powder

from what ive heard, the MUFE HD is more finely milled than the cheaper versions. but since i havent tried the other brands, dont take my word for it :).. yet. i do believe this is HG material for shine control. 8 hours later and my normally oily-in-2hours face still looks nice and... dewy. not matte, but dewy. mid-day tho, when i touched my face it did feel oily but not as oily as i used to feel with other oil-control stuff i tried. all i needed to do was blot it awy, i didnt even touch up. my end-of-the-day pictures still turned out really well :) it WILL give you a slightly lighter tint so make sure you are using your exact foundation shade or one that is one or half step darker. that or just use a touch of bronzer to even out your tone. i do use this with the whole MUFE HD line as suggested in the reviews, i think this line really performs its best together.

Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation
rated 5 of 5
msTaps 4/14/2009 12:46:00 AM

i was very skeptical about this at first, not really a fan of liquid make up plus the mixed reviews everywhere. but i needed coverage and just wanted to try something other than mineral make up. im so glad i did!!! i read the reviews and followed suggestions to use all the MUFE HD products together. i thought, hmm that could get expensive but what the heck, ill try it anyway. i used the HD primer in green to cover up my red spot and the blue to brighten the rest of my face. let it dry for about a minute and followed with the HD foundation, waited about a minute, then applied concealer, color, etc. set with the HD powder... WOW. no heavy feeling, i think liquid foundation have come a long way. it feels almost as light as my bare escentuals. ive been using this combo for 2 weeks and so far, it has yet to disappoint me. my pictures come out radiant, my combo complexion never looked oily in pictures even at the end of the day. all i had to do was blot one time in the 8 or so hours i wore it in 73* weather. if you touch your face, it might feel oily after about 4 hours but if you look in the mirror, you just look dewy. best of all, i went to sleep with it coz was dead tired after our easter party and i woke up with my face still looking nice and no breakouts. i am acne prone, btw. ive never used liquid foundation so i dont really know how long this will last, but when used with the HD primer, i didnt have to put on a lot, maybe just 2 pumps. the price, even the combo price, is worth it.

Shampoo -Alterna - Ten Shampoo

price IS expensive but i dont mind if it helps my easily irritated scalp. i decided to take the plunge and get this with the conditioner (not so impressed with the conditioner, btw) when i saw a review about it not irritating their scalp. ive been on a HG hunt for a shampoo that wont aggravate my scalp since, oh, forever. pureology works ok than most. actually chagrin valley shampoo bars worked best but it dulled out my hair and stripped my color probably because i need to follow with a vinegar rinse, so i went back to looking for a regular shampoo. hey i want shiny hair, too ; ) i mustve tried all anti-dandruff shampoos, all sulfate-free shampoos and frankly, im tired. before getting this, i used pureology nanoworks and it worked fine but not as good as i wanted. this has a comparable price so i tried alterna 10. the bottle looks so luxe, it does look like a very pricey product. the smell is pleasant, a little more grown up for my taste, but im the type who prefers fruity scents. the formulation is rich, so you only need a tiny amount. i use it with biolage conditioning balm as i prefer the shine that balm gives me instead of the matching 10 conditioner. my scalp is happier, my hair feels and looks luxurious. definitely lots of compliments when i use this one.

Conditioner -Matrix - Biolage - Conditioning Balm

i love this conditioner. i use it on my 6 yo son too who has shoulder-length hair as well and hates hairbrushes :) i can tell how shiny it makes his hair look compared to other products ive gotten for him. the shine is almost like vinyl, its unbelievable. soft and tangle-free too. the comb just glides on his hair... we have the same hair type but mine is colored and heat-styled regularly. i use this as a daily conditioner. this makes my hair feel healthy after ive gone crazy with my flat iron. i have the tub and bought the pump that goes with it so contamination isnt an issue. and i only need less than two pumps to condition my hair. too much can weigh it down. since using this with the heat styler, i can get away with 2-day hair. it smells great, not too girly, not masculine, not so grown up. just a soft nice pleasant scent.

Styling Products -Matrix - Biolage Fortifying Heat Styler
rated 5 of 5
msTaps 4/6/2009 3:21:00 PM

YESS!!! ive finally found my HG heat styler!! i have fine shoulder-length hair, resistant to curling unless i use the curling iron or flat iron longer. naturally, the longer i use a heating tool, the drier my hair gets. another thing is I dont like the feel of having products on my hair (but i need it so..). This heat styler is everything i want in a styling product. i have super soft, shiny hair and curls that last until the next shampoo. no crunchy, dirty feel at all. smells nice and mild. i have healthy looking hair, no split ends in sight after 2 weeks of use with a 400* flat iron.

Styling Products -Pureology - Dry Shine
rated 5 of 5
msTaps 4/6/2009 3:12:00 PM

i am reviewing the pureology nanoworks ShineLuxe. its similar to dry shine but lighter & smells better. this is my HG pureology product. it smells divine and it doesnt weigh down my fine shoulder-length hair. it defines my layers and gives amazing shine. less than a pea-sized amount is needed for my hair, let it melt all over my palms and apply where you want shine. you can even apply some in the crown (with a lighter hand) and it wont flatten it. one jar should last 6-8 mos since you only need a tiny amount so i think that balances the price. did i mention how DIVINE it smells? :)

Styling Products -Pureology - In Charge Plus Styling Spray
rated 5 of 5
msTaps 4/6/2009 2:59:00 PM

this is actually my HG hairspray. i agree that the nozzle tend to clog so after each use, i just run it under hot water and its ready for my next use. or you can just unclog it by running it under hot water when you need it :) i actually have big sexy hair among others but i still reach for this more often. it has better hold, gives me great volume when applied under my hair, doesnt get all flaky when i brush my hair and smells really fresh to me. AND it gives my hair extra shine.

awesome for holding curls in place even without hairspray. i have annoying curl-resistant hair and this helps me keep them longer than 2 hours. go easy on how much you apply, a little goes a long way.

Styling Products -Pureology - Texture Twist
rated 5 of 5
msTaps 4/6/2009 2:50:00 PM

i really dislike putting products on my hair but i need them to give me volume. only texturizer ive found not to give me that icky-sticky dirty feel. pleasant scent that goes away, and lotsa VAVOOM!! i have shoulder length fine hair that could use some volume in the crown. i apply this to styled hair. a pea-sized amount, spread all over my palms until its nice and "melted", and i apply it under my hair, close to the scalp where i need volume. i have oily scalp so this doesnt last till the next day, but the day i do apply it, it works exactly how i expect texturizers to work. and if you dont have time to wash your hair the following day, your hair just returns to how it would be if you didnt apply the texturizer but the great thing is, it doesnt have that dirty next-day-hair feel.

Shampoo -Pureology - Nanoworks Shampoo

im writing this for my mom. she is 60 and her hair has started to fall out in the last couple of years so she has been searching for her HG since then. she colors her hair frequently to cover grays and gets highlights which dries out her hair. i bought her a bottle of this and the nanoworks conditioner about 3 mos ago and she says she has finally found her HG. she said she has very little fall out now, her hair has great volume and she cant get over how soft her hair has gotten. she also noticed having more vibrancy to her color. a bottle should last her about 6-8 mos (she has short hair), even with daily washing. pureology is very concentrated and for her hair type she uses about a pinky nail size. first, rinse out your hair well until its good and saturated then get some shampoo (or conditioner) and lather it up in her palms before applying to hair. if you shampoo every 3 days, rinse and repeat.
