Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Plum Potion
rated 5 of 5
mrsleonidas 8/23/2012 7:08:00 PM

OMG I totally LOVE and I mean LOVE this and the Sinful Vanilla, too death!!!!! Plum Potion reminds me of a sweeter softer Dark Kiss. Its very sultry, sweet black cherry cola, wrapped in a dark vanilla/maple sugar! Heavenly! It ROCKS! The gal below me says its similar to Pink Sugar with a berry vanilla kick and I agree...but this is warmer and sexier. Its late August and I am stalking BBWs for the new Halloween line constantly. I am scared because I am almost out of my stock pile and I am freaking that they will not come out with it again or even something similar this year. I just want BBWs to get their stuff back together and fix the newer scent of their Warm Vanilla Sugar back to its normal scent again. But most of all, I plead and pray...... with lots of sugar and cherries on top...... that they make this(or in another name) and the darker warmer sexier vanilla/patchouli scented, Sinful Vanilla.......permanent! We all need to write and bug them too death til they do ;)

Treatments (Eye) -Serious Skin Care - Eyetality
rated 5 of 5
mrsleonidas 8/18/2012 8:58:00 PM

Wow I am saddened by the low rating on here. Imo, it is absolutely insane........cuz the "Night Version" ROCKS! I really do luv it too death. It is light, dewy, firming and moisturizing.....without being too greasy and it DOES NOT ROLL OF LIKE ERASER SHAVINGS when applying my face cream, concealer and MAKEUP over it! That is very important to me...as I like a dramatic eye and face daily. I actually use the "Night cream Version" both day and nightime! The formula is perfect.........It does not migrate into my eyes or even make them water a bit! Not even even during a sweaty hot day! I do want to point out that I do not have bags under my eyes! I only thin/light light wrinkles and a lil' greying. So, I cannot speak for that issue. But when I play hard and have too much fun at night, they are really not puffy in with this on in the mornings. Imo, this is really a fantastic cream all togther. For comparison, my most used eye creams were Murad Ultimate Moisture(which is pretty expensive but it works for me(I feel my face is worth the money, so money doesn't matter if it works. But, the price did have me looking around a bit).... Philosophy Miracle Worker (again a bit expensive but I liked for correcting at night time....but it was just way too greasy for any day use).... and my true fave for day or night, Anew Clinical Duo Pro Eye cream. Now I do only use the cream side with this Avon cream because the gel side literally rubs off like eraser shavings with even a light touch! Avons is a lil' lighter than the Eyetality and its really great for day use. I also like that it has alot of fruit and Peptide ingredients to clarify coloring and wrinkles. When I need more moisture for anytime usage, I use this Eyetality though. The formula is light enough, non-irritating and moisturizes very very nicely, without having that nasty greasy feeling/look. This just gives my eyes a fresh dewy glow from heaven!! My faves from above(except imo, the Philosophy) are all light enough, that you do not need to worry about those horrible scary lil' bumps called Milia from using too greasy product. Eyetality's Night time formula is so beautiful that it smooths on like butta. It just takes one small dab to put a thin layer all over the top and bottom areas A lot of eye creams do not feel that moisturizing and therefore my eyes do not look plumped and healthy. It seems as though they would just give me that tight feeling, without looking tight. Not with this one though...it really gives me that very fresh.... yet very soft dewy glow! Amazing Also, Eyetality Night has killer ingredients(peptides etc's) that have helped my thin baby blonde lashes and brows grow a lil bit better. I really feel that it has helped them a bit. :) Oh and the price is sooooooooo amazing too. I always buy a jar off of Ebay for just under $10.00...For Realz! To sum it up, if you want a great priced cream that moisturizes, smooths my lines, helps skintone look healthier, very makeup friendly as it does not flake/rub off and want healthier lashes and brows.....then this could be your huckleberry! ;)

Eyeliner -Prestige - Total Intensity Eyeliner - Fierce Blue
rated 3 of 5
mrsleonidas 6/19/2012 2:32:00 AM

Yes, I agree that these are sorda comparable to Urban Decays 24/7 consistency.....but in my case, these are only comparable in the beginning. Also, this and the Bold Brown both made my eyes very oily, blurry and very stoned looking red the next 2 days later! I need to point out that I am not a sensitive person at all and have never had any liner or anything do this to me before! I also do not wear contacts.... so I can almost guarantee that these two would be a contact wearer's nightmare. Oh, also I went to swatch them again and they are already basically dried up. I always keep my lids on very very tight and keep them in a air tight plastic makeup bag. ( I haven't used my U.D. Mildew or Stash in awhile either but they are both still very creamy) So there is no reason for them to be so hard this early on. I need to stop wasting my money trying to find cheap dupes and just spend about $5-10 more, of my hard earned money, on higher quality liners for now on....it sticks just throwing/wasting $5-$10 on cheaper ones that do not last on my waterline long enough or I just literally cannot ever use. ;)

Eye Primer -Tarte - Lifted™ Natural Eye Primer with Firmitol™
rated 5 of 5
mrsleonidas 6/13/2012 12:29:00 PM

I love this stuff! It does what it claims, I get a full day of no creasing....even during the summer sweating trips!! This baby is also all NATURAL and NOT full of NASTY CHEMICALS! The formulation is a bit thicker than UD and TF primers.......but that is one of the main reasons why I luv it so much as well! This glides on literally like butter and stays sticky for awhile.....unlike UD which dries down too fast. If I don't do my eyes almost immediately the UD would turn my prestige brand shadows to a sheerer finish and less payoff.....man, I hated that! But thank goodness I don't have to worry about rushing to get my eyes done now! Yay!!! The firming ingredients just rock!!! They really do firm up my slightly wrinkled lids(the wrinkles are not from age,I have actually always had slightly loose skin towards the inner eye lid...especially on my left one.... weird I know ;) I also love that it has a slight matte nude finish. I can actully see where it goes and put it on evenly now. IMO.... the killer natural firming ingredients and buttery flowing formula are awesome!!!! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for all NATURAL makeup primer and if the other 2 chemically loaded famous primers dry your skin out too much!

Lipstick -Revlon - ColorBurst in 070 Soft Nude [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
mrsleonidas 5/31/2012 10:41:00 AM

I do not know why there are so many peeps saying that this is comparable to MAC Myth or Creme D' Nude.......ummmmm wrong! Well at least on my pale skin! This is lipstick is VERY ORANGE on my pale(but I tan very well and easily) Irish/German heritage skin tone. The formula is ok and the packaging is nice. I am not going to give this a bad review just cuz the color doesn't suit me! I absolutely hate when I read peeps bad reviews just cuz the color didn't work on them! So, with all that said......the formula and packaging is very nice and the color will be perfect for someone else....just not me. Its just too darn orange/peachy for me. Its not light enough for me to wear with my daily smokey eyes. ( P.S. Make sure that you buy your makeup from a store that will take it back if you cannot not swatch it and end up not liking something)

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lipglass in Prrr
rated 5 of 5
mrsleonidas 5/22/2012 12:57:00 PM

I had to order this off line and went by swatches and reviews. This is a "strong medium peach frost" In certain lighting and angles it can look like a light peach nude or a dark peach frost. Unfortunately, it was just wayyyy toooo "Orangey" for my neutral/pale skin. I have a hard time finding cosmetics that do not look orange on my Irish/German pale neutral skin. I think that this color rocks on people with a darker skintone... cuz then it would be a nice medium peach nude frost. I still give this gloss 5 full Lippys....cuz I love the opaque formula, wear time, and the scent is very nice....just like all MAC's lippys.

Lip Gloss -MAC - underage lipglass
rated 5 of 5
mrsleonidas 5/20/2012 7:48:00 PM

This is simply a sexy opaque milky pale pink gloss. Her cousin is Florabundance and she is an opaque pale peach gloss. They both go on smooth with one-two dips. So they are pretty opaque/perfect alone. Yet they layer well to tone down another lippy and they do not eat up the lipstick under them! ;)

This is simply a sexy opaque milky pale peach. If you love milky glosses then....... I highly suggest her cousin Underage, which is the sexier pinker version. They are both drop dead gorgeous alone or over another lippy to tone it down. Plus, like all MAC glosses......they do not eat up your lipsticks under them. I love these too death!

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #168 Large Angled Contour Brush
rated 5 of 5
mrsleonidas 5/6/2012 2:12:00 PM

This brush ROCKS! The size allows this to be used on anyone and in all sorts of ways. I have smaller cheeks so this is perfect for me to use for blush/bronzer application. But, it can also be used for any size/shape faces. All they need to do is just turn it sideways and blend while applying. Or allow it to dry loosely instead of in a brush guard. The white hairs sooo soft and yet they are very densely packed. So it doesn't just skim over my pores. It actually applies my powders FLAWLESSLY and covers up my dreaded large pores(which I have from genetics, cuz I have pretty good skin) This is now my all in one brush. Its wayyyy softer and sheds less than my 129. I use it for contouring, blushes, bronzers, face powders, buffing cream products.....whatever your heart desires really. This baby even picks up the pigments from cheap drugstore products and not just the shimmers. I use to use a sheer mocha brown blush from the drugstore until years ago they changed the formula and it was literally invisible. Which is crazy cuz I am pale and of Irish/German heritage. I decided to grab it one day for the heck of it and I was blown away by the application. Wow! This brush can do it all. Press lightly for a sheer wash or firmer for a flawless skin. This feels pretty solid in my hands and allows me to have total control. Plus, with the right storage, washing and drying....this should last me a lifetime. I have had this one for well over 4 years now and it still looks and performs beautifully. IMO, these brushes are an investment. To my family, they are not cheap. But I have found that they are made well and are made to last. It took me a while to figure this out...........but I no longer waste my time and my hard earned money looking for the perfect "cheap dupes" out there anymore! Cuz those five to ten dollar bills all add up ya know. Instead, I just use that money on these mac daddy's to begin with. These are our tools! Just like the tools that my hubby and other men collect from that store in the mall. They buy them cuz they do the job right and have a lifetime guarantee. Well, these do not have the lifetime guarantee....but they do always do the job right the first time and will last with proper care too! (p.s. I promise you all that I do not work for mac. I just love their quality and their prices are killer. I just want others to know that too. ;)

Misc Beauty Tools -MAC - Full lash curler
rated 5 of 5
mrsleonidas 5/2/2012 11:57:00 AM

To begin with,I really had no clue that there could be such a "dramatic difference" between curlers. I mean I never thought two simple pieces of metal with a pad, could be so different?! I thought how could they be any different from each other...right? Wrong! No matter what drugstore brand(Sally/Maybelline/Revlon/ELF etc's) I bought it took a long time to work and I would almost pray each use that none of my fine lashes would get pulled out(by the hard pads) or even stuck into the mushy cheaper silicone pads(that would split almost immediately like ELF's new pads!) It really was a bit scary for me every day! Lol! But then came along MAC and with this baby......it literally only takes "2-3 quick pumps"...... and they are WAY the heck UP THERE! Really! I have found that if you pump too hard or more than 3 times, that they will end up too curled and L shaped. So, with just 2-3 quick light pumps and I'm done. I know if you are reading this you are a bit unsure to invest more than a $10..00 bill on a curler. But, I promise that if you have never bought a higher ended better quality curler like this or the Shu......than you are truly missing out big time! It doesn't pinch easily like the cheaper ones.(Well,if you know how to place a curler right)Plus it grabs a hold of even my tiniest lashes. If you think about it the better drugstore curlers cost around five-eight bucks or and I still had to replace them constantly. Many years ago, the first one I fell in love with the dollar ELF one. I guess because I never used one before, it was like a life changing experience. ;) Because my German/Irish heritage lashes are almost straight, very thin, very blonde and are basically invisible without mascara and black liner. I almost hated to do my mascara because it took so much time to get them up and curled with any mascara brand...I have a hubby, 2 rocking lil' boys, 2 dogs and a cat.... so that just wasn't cool. So this MAC curler amazed me and does the curl fast and wonderfully. Again,I never knew there could be difference between curlers and I wasted too many dollar bills on crap. Now the MAC curler only comes with 1 refill pad(do not lose it!) The bad thing is that they do not sell any refills for it just yet! But, I was told to just flip the worn out side over...and by golly, it works great too! Yay! I've had it for a while now and I am still on the first side. There isn't even a demarcation on the pad yet ;) So, I am gathering that with the flipping over and the extra pad they include...I should easily have at least another year or 2 left....give or take. Oh and btw, I have read, many times, that he the Shiseido refill pads actually do fit in this too! The only thing I wish is that this and the Shu curlers would have a bigger opening for the lashes to get into. I have to be extremely careful, as my lashes are fine and blonde, and make sure that they are all in there each time. So yeah, I really dislike that factor. But, maybe that factor is what makes these 2 curlers so different and awesome. I really do love it soooo much! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Its cheaper than the Shu and I am confident that this baby will amaze you. (UPDATE 10/1/12: The price has now increased from $16.00 to freaking $20.00 now!!!!! W the heck.... MAC!? So, heads up, the price is not that different anymore!) ;( I just wish I would have listened to all the hype on these curlers years ago......it definitely would have saved me so much money, time, aggravation and even lashes! But who knew? Well, I do..... now! ;) peace

Polishes -OPI - Tickle my France-y
rated 5 of 5
mrsleonidas 5/2/2012 10:29:00 AM

I love this sophisticated yet very sexy, slightly grayed beige nude!!! On my pale Irish-German heritage skin tone......most nude polishes or lip products tend to pull either too orange or too brown. But, this one is neutral and rocks! With my opaque NailTek Fndtn II basecoat.... this can be worn with 2 quick streak free coats or 3 for a full opaque look. I love this so much because you can wear it with whatever since it can be demure, sexy, understated, soft or edgy. (P.S. I am looking for a lipstick and gloss that doesn't pull orange or darker brown on me. I bought MAC's Myth and Creme D Nude and they both turn very orangey on my pale NW10-15 skin. So, if any of you know of a quality name brand lipstick/gloss, that has not been discontinued, that has a neutral/greyed pale/light beige tone...I would be very grateful if you have the time to message me the name ;)

Lip Gloss -Maybelline - Wet Shine Liquid - Sheer Sable
rated 5 of 5
mrsleonidas 5/1/2012 1:49:00 PM

Looks darker in the tube......its actually a light taupe/grey pale mocha cream. NO yucky hints of peach or ORANGE in sight!!! Yay! I love to add this over my MAC Gaga 2 lipstick(which has a bit more peach than I wanted) and sometimes I even add a few dots over my Gaga 2 gloss(which is almost perfect on its own but I still want more of a grayed beige added). The sucky thing is..........since it is a cheap drugstore brand it is very mineral oily and cuts the lipstick away. But, I don't care I just really love the light taupe/gray beige color too death! I wish this was in their regular line-up.....better yet I wish that there was a perfect dupe for it in MAC etc. etc's!! If any of you know of a good dupe...I would be so grateful if you could messaged me the name. :)

Makeup Brushes -Bare Escentuals - Eye Brow Brush
rated 2 of 5
mrsleonidas 4/21/2012 12:55:00 PM

As far as quality goes(at least the one I received) this is not too bad. Though, I was let down by how short and how VERY VERY STIFF and FAT bristles the bristles were. Its even stiffer and fatter than the Smashbox #12 brush. I know right! ;) Though I do like the bristles on the Smashbox because they are stiff but yet bend nicely. So, I do like my brow brushes to be firm, like softer boar hair. But these bristles do not move Ouch city! I have fine brows and I need to have precision. Since I read a lot of people saying this is a smaller brush......I tried it. Well its small all right, but only in the handle department. Imo, this is so darn thick that it should only be bought by those with fuller fluffier brows. I will just stick to my good ole faithful MAC 266.....its practically all that and a box of crayons in my book! But, over the years my brows have gotten blonder and a bit thinner(from over plucking for that defined front, perfected arch and skinny tail that most of use wear now and days) So I now want to try the MAC 208. Its a bit firmer and thinner than the 266. Yay! I am just sooooo ticked off that I wasted almost half of the money on this thingy...... when I could have used that half towards the 208!!! I always try to save my family money and try to find those perfect dupes uot there....and like always,I actually end up spending more in the end!!! Wahh!!! Those "cheaper dupes" are between $5-$15.00 each and they do add up! ;) I did the same thing with the 266(and ALMOST every other cosmetic item I own) many years ago. Yes, I should have learned my lesson! But reading makeup blogs are like an addiction for me!!! :) Live and learn....save your hard earned money.... and just buy quality to begin with....like MAC brushes!!!!(they are MY fave and "in MY personal OPINION" have the best quality and prices. Plus they will last almost a lifetime with good care) To sum it up, if you like to define, fill in thinner/fine brows and add details.....then this brush is just way too fat/thick and very pokey to work with. ;)

Moisturizers -MAC - Studio Moisture Cream
rated 5 of 5
mrsleonidas 3/13/2012 11:14:00 AM

Imo, this stuff rocks! Its literally 2 products in 1 for me! The scent is actually very beautiful and soft. The formula is so airy and creamy....that it just glides on effortlessly. I literally only need a pea/dime size to cover my whole face, eyes and under my chin. Its NOT GREASY and it has NOURISHING ingredients that moisturizes and FIRMS my skin perfectly.(I am not kidding. My hubby even says my skin looks killer and is so much softer than before. And let me tell ya, I have used many prestige brands to drug store brands!) I just can't stop feeling my fac it feels so silky and very soft. Plus, it doesn't give me that yucky tightness that I get from other firming face or eye creams. Yay! The bestest(lol) thing about this..... is that I can also use this AROUND MY EYES and it DOES NOT IRRITATE or MIGRATE towards them at all! I now can save boatloads of money and my precious time by just using this 1 product on my face! Yay! The other bestest(lol) thing.... is that I can IMMEDIATELY APPLY MY MAKEUP/FOUNDATION right after application! This works great under my primer and my liquid(MAC StudioFixFluid) or powder foundations(MAC Studio Powder). Most moisturizers that I have tried ended up flaking and pilling up like eraser shavings....no matter how long I waited for them absorb. But this baby doesn't pill/flake off and is not greasy. I can actually layer all I want to with it and it just absorbs so perfectly. Buying 2 of the On The Go size(1oz=$15) is actually a better deal than buying the full (1.7oz=$30) sized one in the tub!! And this way is more sanitary too! LUVS IT too pieces!!!! (But heads up, this does have algae.... which I have read breaks sensitive people out) I added the ingredients above
