Blush -Hard Candy - Blush Crush Baked Blush #127 Honeymoon

I love this product. I've never worn it as a blush, but as a highlighter, it is excellent on my NC15 skin!

Polishes -Sephora - Sephora by OPI - Under My Trench Coat
moxie345 1/5/2011 10:45:00 PM
I LOVE this polish! I purchased this a couple months ago as I've been on a huge neutral/greige/taupe np kick lately and UMTC seemed to fit the bill. This is the only polish I've ever owned or worn that has gotten me so many compliments from friends and strangers alike. Anyhoo, this polish is very nice. It applies smoothly but takes about 2 - 3 (more likely 3) to become completely opaque. It has some kind of goldish looking specks of sparsely distributed microglitter that are very pretty and almost makes it look like a sandy-clay color in the daylight. I really like the brush, it's skinny like all brushes used to be back in the day haha, which I prefer for more precise application. I wish I didn't have to pay $12 CAD for this since I generally like to keep my np purchases to $10 or less but I was willing to "splurge" a little because it's so lovely. By far one of my favorite polishes and I would definitely repurchase.

Polishes -Orly - Luxe
moxie345 12/23/2010 11:42:00 PM
Just bought this n/p yesterday and I am in love with it! It's my first ORLY n/p purchase and I have to say, I'm very satisfied. The color was opaque in two coats and it's a gorgeous pale metallic gold with micro glitter. Wearing it for the holiday season right now; it feels very festive to me. :) Application was smooth and easy and I really love the grip on the brush handle. I would definitely recommend this n/p and will be purchasing more ORLY polishes in the future.

Polishes -MAC - Bad Fairy (LE)
moxie345 10/12/2010 4:56:00 PM
Well, talk about a disappointment! I was so excited to get my hands on this n/p as the online swatches (especially Temptalia's) made it look SO stunning. Don't get me wrong, it is a lovely color but not nearly as duo-chrome/reflective as I was hoping it would be. Most of the time, it's just a very pretty fuscia-ish color. Definitely not worth the $16 CAD I paid for it though. It takes AT LEAST (for me anyway) 4 coats before it is opaque enough, and (as many other reviewers have mentioned), this polish is chip city after only two days of wear. My brush was also a hot mess but I can deal with that. Mostly, I'm just disappointed in the quality of this n/p for the price. On the plus side, I will say that this polish does dry relatively quick and it looks pretty neat under a black polish. However, if I hadn't paid much for this polish, I wouldn't be nearly as irritated with it overall, but I did....so I guess I'm a sucker for hype. Lesson learned, will not be wasting my hard-earned $$ on MAC nail polishes ever again. Many of the drugstore polishes I own perform much better than this did.

Mascara -Lancome - Definicils Mascara
moxie345 8/9/2010 1:53:00 PM
I love Lancome Definicils! This has been my go-to mascara since I was 16 and it's the one that I keep coming back to. On my lashes, Definicils gives me great length and separation. I love that the brush is skinny and tapers at the end of it, this makes getting ALL of my lashes covered foolproof. I'm a mascara-junkie and I keeping trying out new HE and DS mascara in hope of finding a less expensive dupe of Definicils...so far I've come up empty handed. The price is steep at $30 CAD per tube of Definicils but I personally feel it's worth the splurge...though I wouldn't lose sleep at night if it was a bit cheaper. :) If you want a mascara that gives you fabulous length, give Definicils a try!

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Falsies
moxie345 8/3/2010 10:34:00 PM
So I couldn't resist all the MUA hype for this product and picked it up about a month ago to see what all the fuss was about. Honestly...I'm still waiting, a month later, to see what the big deal is. This mascara did nothing for my lashes. The formula is very wet and it smudged so easily on me...hours after it had dried. It really didn't do much for length or volume on my lashes and made them clump when I tried to apply more than one coat. I will say that the color is perfect, I bought this in black and it is truly black (not how some mascaras say they're black but have kind of a dark gray/blackish color to them). It's not the worst thing I've ever tried but it's certainly not the best. The search continues...

Conditioner -Clairol - Herbal Essences Body Envy Volumizing Conditioner
moxie345 5/22/2010 5:28:00 PM
So I ran out of my usual conditioner (was previously using the Pantene brunette expressions conditioner) so I had this one lying around (came in a double pack from Costco with a giant bottle of the matching shampoo). I like the shampoo just fine but this conditioner is awful and not at all what my hair needs or is used to. As other reviewers have said, it is VERY drying and hardly conditions at all, so detangling my fine hair was even more difficult than usual. I could tell even in the shower that this conditioner wouldn't leave my hair feeling soft and smooth and I wasn't surprised to see when I blow dried my hair that it looked dull and lifeless. Needless to say, I will not be re-buying this conditioner and I've already gone out and replaced it with my usual conditioner. I don't recommend this at all.

Eyeliner -Make Up For Ever - Khol Pencil
moxie345 3/7/2010 1:22:00 AM
I've been meaning to review this for a while now. As other reviewers have said, this is intended/formulated supposedly specifically for the waterline. However, it is the total OPPOSITE of that. It is awful on the waterline. On my waterline, this god-awful liner smudges/melts in less than an hour!! This is ok for lining the upper lash line but keep it far away from the lower lash line. At $17 a pop, I will definitely NOT be repurchasing this as there are much better options out there. Go back to the drawing board MUFE!!

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
moxie345 2/28/2010 12:10:00 AM
So I caved and bought the 3 oz trial size of this from Sephora after I'd been reading all the rave reviews all over the web about this product. I gave it a shot for two weeks and I'm so let down! :( The smell of the product doesn't bother me, though I'm not crazy about it...it smells like what I've come to expect from Philosophy skincare, which is to say, nothing great lol. I gave this cleanser a 3 because it DID remove all of my make up and even my non-waterproof eye makeup. However, this cleanser left my skin feeling tight and visibly (white flakes!!!) dry immediately after I washed it off. It also doesn't give that squeaky clean feeling no matter how much you try to rinse it off. I'm fairly certain that this also made me break out like crazy and that's when I decided to drop it and go back to my old cleanser. Also, for the two weeks that I was using Purity, my skin looked dull and ruddy, which I am not used to seeing. This cleanser is not the worst but certainly not the best one I've used to date. I will definitely NOT be repurchasing this.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal
moxie345 2/14/2010 3:23:00 AM
Well, I bought this mascara because it was on sale for $5 at a local drug store and a friend of mine said she liked it. I tried it out tonight for the first time and I have to say that if you are a one-coat only kind of gal, this mascara is NOT for you. Sorry for the very long review that follows... I applied my first coat and was VERY unimpressed by this product, the only difference it made to my lashes after the first coat was the appearance of more separate/defined lashes. But in one coat, there was certainly nothing amazing about the length or the volume that the mascara provided. So I applied a second coat and the look started to improve, the lashes looked a little bit longer but still nothing to write home about. Finally, I applied a THIRD coat and at this point the mascara transformed the length of my lashes. They looked incredibly long after three coats, however, I still don't feel it did much for volume. I have naturally thick lashes so I didn' tn notice a difference, but the length was fabulous. I wore it for a few hours and it did flake, but not to the point where it made it look like there was dirt under my eyes. The flakes were small/minimal at worst. I'm giving this mascara a rating of 3 but only because of the astonishing length it gave my lashes but that is at the "cost" of three coats being applied, which of course means you will go through this product faster because it takes that much more product to achieve the look you want. For a mascara that claims to give "colossal volume", I am very disappointed in that regard. When it comes to this mascara, I feel like you get what you pay for. It's decent but there are better products out there than this imo.

Makeup Brushes -Quo - Blush Brush
moxie345 1/24/2010 10:43:00 PM
I am shocked at how high of a MUA rating this brush has...it is just AWFUL. It sheds on my face every single time I use it. It isn't very soft and doesn't pick up product easily. I paid $20 for this and it is not worth $20 at all. I would rather take that money and put it towards a quality brush. I was recently at a Shopper's Drug Mart (where you can buy these brushes) and I told the lady at the makeup counter that this brushes is awful and sheds like crazy. She seemed to think that they shedding should stop after the brush has been washed. She is very mistaken! I have washed and dried this brush properly and it still sheds all over my face. It's complete garbage. Don't let this turn you off from other Quo brushes though. Their angled liner/brow brush is actually very nice. This blush brush is horrible though, sadly.

Blush -Shiseido - Accentating Powder Blush - B1 Soft Orange
moxie345 12/23/2009 1:43:00 AM
I purchased this Shiseido blush this past summer which was recommended to me by a Sephora sales associate. I was apprehensive at first about the color since "soft orange" would lead you to believe it would be orange-y but it's not at all! It's a really beautiful coral, the color looks very natural like you've just come in from a chilly day. I'm giving it 4 lippies because it goes on very light, so if you want more color to show up, you have to layer it a little bit. I do love that it's not an "in your face" kind of color, I use this for my everyday work look as I've worn NARS' Orgasm blush to work before and people have noticed it...and not in a good way lol. I do love the case this blush comes, it's very pretty. It also comes with a handy-dandy angled blush brush. Since there were no images uploaded at all for this product, I uploaded a pic of me wearing it for a wedding I attended in July 2009 that I took in my car, so I guess you could say it's in natural light there. :)
