Treatments -Carley's Clear & Smooth - Skin Treatment - Cleanser

I bought this after reading all the great reviews here, acne.org and EBay. I wanted to find a natural cleanser for my skin. I notice my skin will still break out from time to time but I can't use any acid based cleansers (ex: glycolic or salic). It's very clean smelling and your skin is very soft after you use the cleanser. However, I think with all the essential oils in the cleanser it irritated my skin. I woke up the next morning with 4 tiny whiteheads. You know how it's obvious when you do something different to your skin and it reacts, that's how my skin felt with this cleanser. According to the directions, your supposed to use the soap that comes with it, but in my experience I can't use any soaps on my face. I will break out! So I only used this product for 2 days and I'm going to stop. I don't want to take any chances and I'll just stick to my old cleanser. I did try to use just the cleanser/scrub by itself but I didn't feel like it rinsed off completly. I felt like it left a residue on my skin.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
rated 2 of 5

I LOVE using Purity as a makeup remover and that's it. When I first started using this cleanser my face felt clean and soft. I continued using this AM/PM as my face wash until 2 weeks later and my face erupted with 4 huge cystic blemishes. I rarely get cystic pimples and I'm assuming this cleanser left pore clogging residue on my face. It's a shame because one little drop (size of a quarter) is all you need to cleanse your makeup off and I really wanted to like this cleanser but my skin doesn't like it. I would suggest this cleanser ONLY as a makeup remover or if you have normal, non-clogging skin. This cleanser really takes off eye makeup and you don't have to scrub too harsh to take off waterproof mascara etc. Everyone has different skin and I would suggest trying this to see for yourself. You can buy a 3oz bottle at Sephora for $10 and it should last you close to a month.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Free & Clear Liquid Cleanser

This is such a soft liquid cleanser for your face. I was trying to use more "natural" products but most natural cleansers have essential oils in them and it really irritates my face. I really like this cleanser, your skin feels clean and moist. They have their own website and if you never tried the products before, you can call the 800# and they will mail you samples. The customer service rep was so friendly and helpful when I called and she mailed me a sample of everything in their product line (I just wanted a sample of the cleanser lol). Try it, and it's so cheap. You can get a 32oz refill bottle for $25!

I think this is a excellent soap for washing your hands! It's not drying or irritating and I feel germ-free!! I had to use this on my face once (went to my parents house and I forgot to pack my fash wash..I was too cheap to buy a new one) and it wasn't drying at all. I just used my Clinique DDMG and my skin felt really smooth.

Cleansers -Dermalogica - Special Cleansing Gel

This is a very gentle cleanser that doesn't irritate or aggervate my skin. I always switch and use another cleanser, then my face will always get irritated and I always come back to this. I'm not sure why I switch -- I just get bored using the same cleanser. On the days I wear heavy makeup, this takes it off completly and my skin isn't dry. I rub the cleanser on my face and I use a soft washcloth to wipe off the makeup and my skin looks great. I used to use Purity Made Simple but I felt that left a residue and this takes off eye makeup better with less rubbing. It is expensive but you only use a dime sized amount so a bottle will last forever.

Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Clearly Natural - glycerine Soap

I couldn't believe how moisturizing this soap was on my hands. Normally with any soap I use, after I'm done washing I would see white residue on the back of my hands and not with this soap. It's so cheap at $1.79 (the whole wheatery) and I like that it's see through. Great soap...great price.

I liked using this the first 3-4 days but then it dried my face. It's just too harsh for my skin and I would return it if I could. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who has sensitve skin.

I bought this at Drugstore.com while there was a buy one, get one free special...I paid $6.99 for (6) 5oz bars (plus $6.99 shipping). So far I really like this. I bought the original and fragrance free soap. It has a really nice rich lather and it washed off all of my eyemakeup without having to scrub. Great soap..great price!

Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Olivella - Vegetable Soap made from Italian Virgin Olive Oil

I bought this in the foaming liquid version and I'm not impressed. It's very drying and it reminds me of using Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile Soaps. It will leave you with the squeaky clean feeling and thats too drying for the body/face. I could see using this for your hands but it's too expensive just to use as a handwash. The scent reminds me of Irish Springs soap. I bought this at QVC.com and I returned it.

I bought this at QVC.com and overall not impressed. This smells like ginger ale (the secent was fine) and it was too drying for my skin. I would have returned it but since it's heavy it wasn't worth the return shipping costs. Bottom line: I gave this to my husband to use lol =P

Cleansers -Dermalogica - PreCleanse

This is a EXCELLENT makeup remover but the oil is too harsh for the eye area. I don't have sensitive eyes but the essential oils in this cleansing oil made my eyes red. It does clean very well and I started using this as a everyday face wash ( I wanted to try the OCM method) and this cleaned the oil off my face too much to the point that I started having dry skin. I think this is best as a makeup remover and not for everyday use. Be careful around your eye area.

I bought this soap because I saw good reviews and I was curious to see how it would perform. I used the soap once and threw it away! It felt like cheap soap....Not for me. I'll just stick to using Dove soap.

Blush -Laura Geller - Blush n Brighten Roseberry
rated 3 of 5
moshi24 9/14/2009 5:43:00 PM

I won this LG blush ~ Roseberry ~ from EBay ($15USD) and I'm not impressed. I tried using this the other day and I looked like a clown. For reference I use C35 Studio Fix. It is VERY pigmented and you really have to use a TINY..TINY amount. Since I only paid $15 I'm not unhappy with the purchase but had I paid full retail price - I would have returned it. So far the blush hasn't been used and it's just sitting in my makeup traincase. I'll just stick to using LG Bronze-N-Brighten...my FAVORITE blush/bronzer.

Skincare - Face -Clinique - 3 Step System
rated 5 of 5
moshi24 9/3/2009 11:43:00 PM

I bought the OILY (type lll skin) and the first 2 weeks my skin looked really good and the toner was drying out my blemishes. Fast forward a month and it ruined my skin! My skin was soooo dry & flaky that I couldn't even use makeup. I stopped using the system and used other random products (Purity). Well I notice some of my friends have really nice glowing skin and they use the Clinique system. I decided to give it another try and I bought the Type ll and I LOVE it! I love using the Mild Cleanser -- the liquid soap makes my skin feel so clean yet soft. The Clarifying Lotion 2 is nice, soothing and my skin feels so clean afterwards. I don't use the DDML, instead I use the GEL version. Bottom line is: you have to try the system for yourself and switch it up a bit. My skin is oily and I should be using Type lll, but I found it too harsh and I LOVE using Type ll (which is meant for dry skin) FYI: QVC has the SUPERSIZE 3 Step System for $64!!!! Can't beat that price!!! The set is so huge it will last you 4+ months and I don't even bother going to the Clinique counter at my local mall anymore.

LOVE this bronzer! Just the right balance of pink, browns, and highlight color. This is replacing all of my MAC blush's and I could see the compact lasting a year....a little goes a long way. I'm buying a travel size for my makeup bag =)
