Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Hemp Hand Protector
mohayes1402 3/18/2012 2:11:00 PM
My favourite ever hand cream. Really thick and creamy, sinks in quickly and lasts for ages before needing to reapply. Personally I love the smell - it's realy herbal but quite strong so if it's not to your taste could be ofputting (as seems to be the case for some other reviewers).

Lip Treatments -Christian Dior - Addict Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm
mohayes1402 3/9/2012 3:52:00 PM
This came out way before the current trend for similar products claiming to enhance/mimic your lip colour. It is a minty balm rather than a liptstick or gloss texture, which I like as it moisturises while staying put. I have to say I am not convinced this is a different colour on everyone - it depends how much you use but I think it is a bluey toned pale pink which leans towards fushia the more you apply. I don't mind that at all as it is a colour I like and even layered it is still subtle. If I reapply, it almost becomes a pinky stain by the end of the day. My only gripe and why I would not repurchase is the price. For something I love and can't live without I would pay but this, whilst nice, is not something I will miss all that much when it is finished.

Lipstick -Boots - 17 Mirror Shine On (all shades)
mohayes1402 3/9/2012 3:44:00 PM
I have this in Beehive and Belle and both are gorgeous. I cannot get away with a really pale nude as I am so fair but these are lovely. They have an almost balm/gloss texture, I can apply them without a mirror and they are really flattering colours. Belle is a tad darker but still the classic "my lips but better". I can forgive the shoddy packaging for the price.

Tinted Moisturizer -Estee Lauder - Day Wear Sheer Tint Release SPF 15
mohayes1402 3/9/2012 3:27:00 PM
There is so much about this product to love. On my normal/combination skin it is a lovely light moisturiser (on top of my usual), it illuminates, it smells lovely and fresh... it would be a holy grail for me IF the colour wasn't so difficult to work with! I am fair skinned (about NW20 in MAC, shade B10 in Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua) and even though this is supposed to adapt to all skin tones it just doesn't. Only when I was really tanned in the middle of the summer could I get away with this and even then had to spread it down my neck. Such a shame as it is otherwise a beautiful product. The price is pretty outrageous. I like high end and have make up from Chanel as well as EL but this is overpriced in my opinion. Estee Lauder PLEASE make this is in a lighter shade for us pale girls!

Mascara -Clinique - Lash Power
mohayes1402 3/9/2012 3:16:00 PM
This is not the most dramatic mascara I have ever used but it is brilliant if like me you struggle with transfer on hooded lids or smudging under the eye. Once this dries it is there for the duration. Only when I was getting to the end of my first tube and the product was drying in the packaging did I find it started to flake. Another bonus is that it has a fairly thin/small brush so you can get to the roots of your lashes without blobbing mascara on the lid. I think the formula is the same as Clinique's specialist Bottom Lash Mascara but I would say if you have this, the brush is fine for lower lashes so you don't need both. If you want a nice black mascara which stays put then I would really recommend this

Eyeliner -Clinique - Brush-on cream liner in TRUE BLACK
mohayes1402 3/9/2012 3:08:00 PM
Sorry to sound like everyone else but this is the queen of liners. It doesn't budge or transfer, even on my tightline where I use it most. Unlike my MAC fluidline, it hasn't dried out at all - I have had it for over a year and the consistency is the same lovely creamy texture it was when I bought it. HG product.

Palettes -MAC - Pro Colour Palette/Small Eye Shadow
mohayes1402 3/9/2012 3:03:00 PM
It AMAZES me that other brands have not tried to copy this (Fashionista in Superdrug I think might have something). I have three and although in one the insert doesn't sit quite square, the shadows are held firmly in place but also flip out pretty easily when you need them to. Brilliant.

Loose Powders -Bare Escentuals - Mineral Veil
mohayes1402 3/9/2012 2:58:00 PM
This is lovely over mineral powder foundation. It really does give a soft focus effect which for me means my pores are less visible - certainly a good thing! My only gripes are that it is not as good over liquid/cream foundations (which to be fair I am not sure it is designed for). It can cake a bit on me that way. Also in the summer if I wear it and it is hot, it almost stings. I think this is a reaction to the bismuth oxide in it when I perspire (note, not sweat). I know friends who don't have this reaction so I think it is an individual thing. It's also a shocker in flash photography but the pros definately outweight the cons!

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
mohayes1402 3/9/2012 2:53:00 PM
It's not glamorous but very effective! I have used both cream and powder shadows over the top and they become bullet proof! Even on my hooded lids I never get any creasing of ANY shadow with this. I can't just use it on its own as the slight tackiness means my lids "stick" in the crease without some shadow or powder for the PP to cling to. I have the squeeze tube - I refused to buy in the old packaging because of the poor reviews for it. A tiny tiny amount goes a very long way!

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter in Pink Truffle
mohayes1402 3/9/2012 2:47:00 PM
Nice colour, lovely packaging but just not very special when you compare with other similar products. It felt a bit dry on the lips, not like a balm and nowhere near as nice a finish as the Boots 17 Mirror Shine lipsticks.

Lip Gloss -Clarins - Instant Light Lip Perfector - Rose Shimmer
mohayes1402 3/9/2012 2:33:00 PM
This deserves the rave reviews. Gorgeous consistency and colour and lasts ages before I need to reapply (a couple of hours - amazing for a gloss/balm). I only knocked a lippie off because of the taste/smell. It is very sweet and sugary, a bit like vanilla icing. It's a personal thing that I just prefer lip products to either have no smell or taste or be fresher (fruity or minty). In spite of that, it is still fab. The pink (01) is definately the prettiest. I have the Apricot but it might as well be a clear gloss on me.

Cleansers -Bioderma - Sensibio H2O (aka Crealine H20 Solution micellaire)
mohayes1402 3/9/2012 2:27:00 PM
I desperately wanted to love this as it is such a cult product. I always wear waterproof eye makeup and heard that this product was favoured by makeup artists, gentle and got every scrap of waterproof mascara off. Not for me. The texture is like water as other reviewers have said. I didn't find at all that it soaked off my eye makeup and so did have to rub a bit. With other removers which are oiler in texture the "slip" you get makes that possible (if it is even necessary) but with this I got very sore eyelids with some makeup still there! Worst off all it really made my eyes sting. I like to soak a cotton pad and really douse my eyes (closed) with remover. This almost felt as though it dried my eyes out. In the UK this is not the cheapest makeup remover because we have to ship in or buy off eBay but even for a quarter of the price, I would not use it again. My preference is for a two-phase oilier product like the Garnier Simply Essentials 2 in 1 makeup remover. Big bottle, dirt cheap and I could rinse my eyes in it without any problem if I had to! And no rubbing needed!! Such a shame.
