Polishes -China Glaze - Shower Together
mochasplash 11/18/2009 10:10:00 PM
this is a very nice teal creme. application was smooth and 3 coats did the job. it dried pretty quick too. thats always a huge plus for me. i dont think it suits my hands very well, i think it'll look better on my toes. i personally think this is well suited for every season. seems very wearable

got this 2/$1.00. i love the smell. it's a cologne-y lavender scent. it's somewhat acidic, which i love.

Polishes -China Glaze - Secret Peri-Wink-le
mochasplash 11/17/2009 12:32:00 PM
This is a lovely creme purple/grey shade. 2 coats gave me opaque results but I added a third jus because it dries so fast, I love that. I don't think its well suited for my skintone. I think girls of lighter skin tones could pull this color off very well. It dries with a nice sheen.

Polishes -China Glaze - Celtic Sun
mochasplash 11/15/2009 5:32:00 PM
like other reviewers have mentioned, neon isn't sheer. i needed multiple coats to get an opaque result and even then, i could still see my tips. it does dry fast which is great. applies somewhat streaky as well. this was my first buy for china glaze and i'm pretty disappointed... i wouldnt buy this again.. if i dont end up returning it, i'll probably end up investing in a cheap white base polish and then apply this on top...

Pressed Powders -New York Color - Color Wheel Mosaic Powder Peach Glow
mochasplash 11/5/2009 11:37:00 PM
i just bought this powder after work. i found it a little pricey at walmart considering the brand. i wanted something to brighten up under my eyes. i have darkness and i mean dark. i use quo bags aways and im pretty low on it. right after i got this i came home and tried it out on one eye. HUGE difference! that eye was brighter and the darkness was much less noticeable compared to my other eye, that wasnt "powdered". if i'm not using my higher end cover fx (which i dont use to go to work) my darkness is still noticeable with the quo bags away, also considering im low on it and dont have much to work with. i'm brown skinned, not caucasian with a tan, like brown brown. just by using this once i can tell i will be looking more alive in the future to come. lol i think cuz i'm more pigmented, i cant really mess up with this because it's sheer for the most part. i bought this powder because of the high % of buy again for this product. thanks to the reviewers on this product! saved me $$$, instead of going to sephora and blowing my money on a high end product.

as soon as i saw that there was a 100% buy again with over 20 reviews, i literally got up and went to walmart just to buy it. omg. wow. this is the perfect nude!! i'm now getting into lipsticks and always loved the nude look, and this definitely delivered. went on smooth, the smell is a bit off. i love the purple packaging, i love purple. this was just under $7cdn. i would def buy this again. suits my brown/tan skin very well!!!

Lipstick -New York Color - Ultra Last Lipstick in Mousse
mochasplash 10/24/2009 8:32:00 PM
This is a great nude lipstick for my pigmented lips.I don't really see it as a matte, but more of a cream look. Its not a dramatic change for me but still gives my lips an face a more alive look.

Moisturizers -Olay - Complete with SPF 15 Lotion
mochasplash 10/24/2009 4:42:00 PM
this is a really good lotion for my face. it absorbs quickly and doesnt leave that purpley film like many other sunscreens. i hate the twist off cap and thats probably the only con to this product. i dont break out from using this, it's a simple facial moisturizer with spf, what else would u want?

Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - Silk Finish - #502A - Dark Pink Frost
mochasplash 10/23/2009 12:04:00 PM
this lipstick applies well and suits my brown skin.. a little on the shimmer/frost side, so it doesnt look as natural as i had hope but for the price, it is, what it is.

Lipstick -New York Color - Ultra Last Lip Wear - Snowcone
mochasplash 10/23/2009 12:03:00 PM
like other people said, it's too shimmery and pink/frosty for my brown skin.. doesnt suit me very well, but i can still pull it off if i apply sparingly. it's dirt cheap, but im not one to pile up on cosmetics... i'm still open and willing to try other shades from this

Lipstick -Cover Girl - Almost Nude Lipstick
mochasplash 10/23/2009 12:01:00 PM
i was skeptical about this lipstick. im not the smartest when it comes to picking out a good nude shade that suits my brown skin. this was pretty good. it is a bit on the bright side, but i'm still able to pull off the nude lip look. it applies evenly but when and whenever i smack my lips together, i can clearly see the outline. theres a hint of pink in this which i do like, it makes me look more alive, oppose to the flat nude that can make me look corpse-ish. i'd definitely buy this again in a different shade.

Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences None Of Your Frizzness Smoothing Shampoo
mochasplash 10/19/2009 2:45:00 AM
this is a pretty mediocre shampoo, but what do you expect for $2. i used this shampoo with long term relationship conditioner. all the shampoos and conditioners are the same in this clairol line. aside from the extracts, it's the same formula. same with pantene. u cant expect much for the price in this. it didnt help smooth my naturally straight hair. i actually had to use more than usual of garniers sleek and shine serum... my hair is pretty bi polar, so it's hard to say whether it was this shampoo or another factor. wont buy again.

Polishes -Sinful - Dancing Nails
mochasplash 10/17/2009 11:54:00 PM
wow... this is another amazing color from sinful.. it's a rich petal pink with a chrome finish. i would say a barbie inspired rich chrome pink. very nice on my skin tone and im sure it would suit any. i applied 3 coats, when i could have gotten away with 2 and it dried in a decent amount of time... would highly recommend!

Other -Gigi - Space saver warmer
mochasplash 10/17/2009 4:39:00 PM
this is my first wax warmer, aside from the microwave. lol i was very impressed with this. got it at sallys with the card for $27 canadian. i use the "canadian knock off" of gigi's wax, called sharonelle. i have the 18oz can and it fit in the space saver. the circumference of the can was smaller than the can of wax. but if ur using gigi's wax, i believe it holds up to 14oz but their can's are shaped different from sharonelle. the unit got hot pretty quick. i touched the outter metal and im surprised i didnt get a physical burn, it hurt for a full 10 seconds. the can of wax got completely hot in less than a hf hr and i was surprised considering the whole circumference factor. i really like this warmer. it's compact and priced very well!

Hair Styling Tools -Conair - more big curls
mochasplash 10/15/2009 9:12:00 PM
i bought this off someone for $6. i have the older conair big curls hot rollers. it came with 10 rollers in which only 5 can be heated at a time. big draw back! it already takes 10-15 mins to heat up completely, so once i use the first 5, im waiting for the other 5 to heat up... very annoying. im glad i didnt buy this in the store for full price. this was my first set of hot rollers and im pretty disappointed. i do get nice results, but my hair is so frigging straight, i need a lot of product in my hair to maintain a decent result. i like the weird jaw clips that are provided. they can be used without the rollers as just hair clips. i dont use the pins that it comes it, unless i have some strays that im trying to lock down while rolling up my hair. once their off the element, they dont stay warm (cuz their def not hot) for long. i wouldnt buy this again, but i'd try another conair hot roller set, only cuz their cheap at walmart :) theres an on and off switch, so i dont know if this stays hot and maintains a steady temp once it's plugged in, or if it eventually automatically turns off.. i dont care enough to experiment, i waste enough time waiting for this shit to heat up.
