Moisturizers -Good Skin - All Bright Moisturizing sunscreen SPF 30

I was scared they had discontinued this product. I got a couple tubes on clearance from Kohls a few months ago and it had disappeared off the website but as of today it's back! It's great sun protection and an excellent moisturizer and cheap to boot. Unless you have super oily skin, try it...you'll love it.

Concealers -Yves Saint Laurent - Touche Eclat No 2
mkubik 11/13/2008 12:23:00 PM
Before purchasing I thoroughly researched the differences between shade #1 and #2 and am very glad I chose #2. First of all, shade #1 was the first one YSL put out so it was sort of a generic color in the sense that it was supposed to appeal to a wide range of skin tones hence the color "Luminous Radiance". It is quite pink. I am very pale and am very thankful to the other MUA reviewers who said that shade #2, "Luminous Ivory", is more yellow-based but actually lighter and more natural if you are fair. And they were absolutely right! Companies loves to put lots of "pink" in foundations and concealers for fair skin and it just looks garish and odd most of the time. My skin tone is not Crayola Carnation Pink anymore so than someone's is Maize yellow. ;) But I digress...the product works wonderfully and and doesn't just cover under-eye darkness but also diffuses it somehow so it looks natural and you don't get that heavy concealer look. Bottom line: if you are pale consider shade #2 instead of #1...

Foundations -Yves Saint Laurent - Perfect Touch Radiant Brush Foundation
mkubik 11/13/2008 12:00:00 PM
Well I have to say I like the product but, like so many other reviewers, find the gimmicky brush applicator to be a pain...so I just removed it. ***Please note the brush top piece actually pops off...you do *not* have to actually cut off the brush bristles as some reviewers have...just pull a bit hard and wallah...the brush piece will come off the bottle. In terms of the actual foundation it's quite nice...light and buildable coverage that gives a lovely glow.

Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Sensuous

I was left unimpressed. It smells an awful lot like Subtil by Salvatore Ferragamo in the red bottle and box for clarity's sake. Lots of candied cherry blossom that kind of goes nowhere...

I have this in the eau de parfum spray and it packs a punch...very sexy...though I've worn it to work a couple just b/c I can. ;) Smells like a old-fashioned bombshell fragrance w/ powdery rose and tobacco which gives it the oomph in my opinion...very distinct...but not an old lady perfume.

Fragrances -Bond No.9 - Saks Fifth Avenue for Her
mkubik 5/4/2008 12:37:00 AM
This one melts on my skin beautifully...gardenia and tuberose with a certain creaminess as described by other reviewers and maybe a hint of coconut...I get compliments consistently when I wear it. If you dislike gardenia and/or tuberose however this will probably not become your favorite as previous reviewers have found.

Fragrances -Bond No.9 - Chinatown

Very well done fragrance...one of the best of Bond. Smells like cherry blossoms over wood to me...nicely blended. It doesn't compel me to own a full bottle but I can see how it is loved.

Fragrances -Bond No.9 - Chelsea Flowers
mkubik 5/4/2008 12:28:00 AM
Somewhat forgettable sadly and don't blink or you might miss it as the staying power is poor. A definite aquatic note with sort of a Calvin Klein Escape thing going on...although that fragrance, if memory serves correct, lasted and lasted...spray this and inhale fast b/c then it's gone with the wind... ;)

Fragrances -Bond No.9 - West Side

A beautiful rose fragrance. I've seen it listed as unisex but it's quite sweet/floral to me so not sure how many males would go for it. This is one of Bonds best fragrances and does well layered w/ their others such as Bryant Park too.

Fragrances -Bond No.9 - BRYANT PARK
mkubik 5/4/2008 12:21:00 AM
Bryant Park is lovely...one of the best Bonds I think. I'm not terribly good at describing fragrances but I know there is patchouli and raspberry maybe. The scent wears well throughout the day and has a good base notes finish too.

Tinted Moisturizer -Laura Mercier - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20
mkubik 5/4/2008 12:15:00 AM
I know the tinted moisturizer is such a bestseller blah blah blah but it just didn't do it for me. I had the lightest shade and my skin is good so I don't need much coverage but this did nothing to enhance my skin when I put it on somehow if that makes any sense...just was there...no coverage, no red minimizing, etc. Left me wondering what all the hype was about...

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara
mkubik 5/4/2008 12:08:00 AM
Let me begin by saying I hate mascara as a rule...I don't like the way it feels on my lashes and b/c my lashes are fairly long on their own I often think it makes them look fake...but not good fake, bad fake. Anyways I always try the sample ones I get w/ GWPs and none of them ever thrill me...I've tried Chanel, Lancome, etc. I tried this one after reading through all the positive reviews here and it is quite nice I'm happy to say. It looks natural and stays soft on the eyelashes. I usually constantly notice mascara when I wear it and have to suppress the urge to touch my lashes so I don't screw up the mascara and get flakes but with this I actually forgot I was wearing it so I caught myself 2x touching my lashes to itch or whatever and realized "oh damn, I forgot I had on mascara today"...so this is not irritating, to me at least, which is impressive in itself.

Fragrances -La Prairie - midnight rain
mkubik 5/4/2008 12:01:00 AM
I wasn't impressed with the original Silver Rain but this keeps drawing me back for more. The patchouli is fairy strong but not the head shop variety more so the clean version which I much prefer. The scent just melts in to my skin. I have gone through a couple samples and bought a few more...time will tell if it is truly FBW. ;)

Fragrances -Prada - Infusion d'iris edp
mkubik 5/3/2008 11:56:00 PM
This fragrance is lovely and very well done...the iris and citrus blend is smooth and refreshing. And to agree with another reviewer, there are definite overtones of Chanel No. 5 here but then when a fragrance has prominent aldehydes there is always that comparison to a certain extent I think.

Liquid -Christian Dior - Diorskin Sculpt
mkubik 5/3/2008 11:50:00 PM
I haven't found any foundation which compares to this...it is simply great. I use 010 Ivory which is the lightest shade and it looks so natural with none of the odd sallow or pinkish quality some companies insist on overduing in their fair to light foundations. The pump bottle makes it very hygienic and easy to work with especially when still half-asleep in the morning.
