Hair -L'Oreal - Elnett Hairspray

I've read many reviews of the elnett hair spray on MUA but I would have to say that this is the best hair spray that I have used. "Best" would be all relative, especially when it comes to different purposes to be used for but here are the reasons why I think this hair spray is the best: 1. Incredibly fine mist - there is just no other product on the market that can compete with elnett's fine mist. 2. Strong hold but no crunchy feeling, VERY soft to the touch. You can brush, comb your fingers through it and it won't feel like you've used hair spray. The product does have a distinct smell but so does many other hair sprays. I admit it kind of smells like mosquito repellent at first but the smell dissipates away very quickly. The only reason why the smell would linger for a longer time would be if you sprayed too much on one area. I believe that the BEST and the MOST EFFICIENT way to use this hair spray would be to use in SHORT BURSTS from a distance no closer than 10 inches away from your head, not in a hold-finger-down-for-10-seconds all-over coating action. Even if you want to spray evenly throughout your hair, use many short bursts. That's the key. This spray also gives a slight shine on the hair but nothing that will make the hair look oily. It's just a nice finish on the hair. Many younger Korean and Japanese men (including celebrities who tend to style their longer hair with wax, gel, hair spray) love this product. I know this for a fact; they probably use elnett more than women do in asia. Men hate it when their styled hair has that cruchy-feeling so this hairspray it's very popular amongst young asian men. In my case, I have very long straight asian hair and use the curling iron to make large wavy styles (average hair sprays usually don't hold my large waves in place for very long) but this hair spray does a fantastic job. It's strong enough to hold my large heavy waves in place while not weighing down my hair and hardening it. I use Paul Mitchell The One shampoo (I wash my hair twice) and it gets rid of all the gunk and residue completely. So as long as you have a decent shampoo, you shouldn't worry about hairspray residues after use. I tried to write my opinions on all the complaints other reviewers had about this product and I can't think of any more. I hope this helps a little for those who are still hesitating to try it :)

Treatments (Eye) -Clinique - All About Eyes

It's good. It's a good eye cream. I am satisfied with it and have been using it for two years. I'm not old so I'm not looking for an eyecream with anti-aging or wrinkle filling effect. This is just a great moisturing eye cream around the sensitive eye area. I think the word "cream" is misleading because the consistency of this product is more liquid than your usual eye creams. I would describe it to be more like a lotion or a thick serum. It applies easily because of the lotion-like consistency. I don't think there is any eye cream out there that will help you reduce your dark circles, fill deep wrinkles, de-puff eyes. It's just unreasonable to expect an eye cream to perform such tasks. If you have dark circles, you put on a concealer. If you have deep wrinkles, you go get a botox. If you have puffy eyes, you stop eating late at night, stop crying, or do some cold/hot compresses every morning around your eye area. I just slighly changed my expectations on what an eye cream should do, and this product COMPLETELY exceeded my expectations.

Skincare - Face -MAC - Fix+
rated 3 of 5

I bought this product after hearing such great reviews and raves about this product. However, I'm not all that convinced about this one. For those you ladies out there that's looking for a mist to re-hydrate your skin after you've put on your makeup... that feeling when your skin starts to pull and you can feel the dryness underneath the makeup? This won't fix that problem. It feels great and cool the moment you spray it over your makeup but it drys off quickly and then you're back with tight, dry skin. It's a temporary relief. Also if you spray this over your makeup, it will make your skin feel sticky and your foundation and powder will start to mix into a paste. And if you try to attempt to fix your makeup with powder after you've sprayed fix+? BIG TROUBLE. I don't know, it's just not something that I wouldn't recommend this for ladies planning on using it with makeup. Try using it without any makeup over bare skin to hydrate. Maybe then it'll be worth buying this product.

Styling Products -Kerastase - Nectar Thermique

I just ordered another bottle because it's something that I will go everywhere and use everyday. I have long, very dry, damaged, course hair from many bleaching, hair coloring, etc. I've been trying to style my hair with hot tools lately using straighteners, hot rollers, curling irons and I needed something to control my unruly, damaged hair. This product just does it. I don't even need to rely on a hair treatment or a good conditioner. Apply this after shower when your hair is wet, then blowdry and style but I also use this when my hair is dry too. Think of this like a lotion for your hair that hydrates it. It really works, and doesn't weigh down your hair either. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Highlighters -MAC - Beauty Powder in Too Chic
rated 5 of 5
mkaori128 3/11/2011 3:07:00 AM

This is my first beauty powder purchase and I am absolutely in love with Too Chic. I figured Play it Proper won't suit me as well (I'm NC25) and the lovely pale light yellow gold with incredibly fine shimmer is absolutely gorgeous!!! It's more like a highlighter than a powder but I'm stunned at how fine and silky the product is!! It glides on your skin, doesn't make your pores look big (due to the super fine shimmer), and best of all -- it won't make your skin look cakey. I would use it all over the face for special evening occasions but otherwise, just lightly around the cheekbones and the t-zone. The packaging is not very special; just a regular sturdy mac packaging which I already like. It's only $22 and I think you're definately getting more for your money, compared to some of other MAC products. I highly recommend that you drop by at your MAC store and test the product!!

Moisturizers -MAC - Strobe Cream
rated 5 of 5
mkaori128 3/4/2011 3:39:00 AM

I love this cream when it comes to 'makeup' rather than 'skincare'. It's a great makeup base that gives you a gorgeous dewy glowing face if you apply with foundation or underneath foundation. You can use this cream alone, just on bare face to give your skin that instant -- "I just washed my face and my face is glowing" look. Some people use the strobe cream as a highlighter after makeup! It's really cool. HOWEVER, I must advise people that it's not very good at moisturizing. A few minutes after the product is absorbed, there is not much of a moisturized feeling in the skin so I do not recommend this as a daily moisturizer. You shouldn't be relying on this product for MOISTURE! Also, you have to wash your face THOROUGHLY after using this product because it's not your normal daily moisturizer. It has very fine shimmers infused into the cream so make sure you wash your face well to get the shimmers out of your skin, out of your pores. Since I don't usually use this as a moisturizer alone, I will definately repurchase in the future. Honestly, I haven't come across a product better than this that gives such glowy, just the perfect amount of shimmer!
