Fragrances -Dolce & Gabbana - 10 La Roue de la Fortune
mjoy14 10/31/2009 6:05:00 PM
This reminds me of the Cotton Candy scent I used to wear in middle school... therefore, it's great... but not worth the price tag... pretty bottle though!! Did anyone else laugh at those naked people ads?
Fragrances -Lolita Lempicka - Lolita Lempicka Eau de Toilette
mjoy14 9/24/2009 5:03:00 PM
I just realized that I bought this version of Lolita (unsniffed), not the edp... I HATE this stuff! It smells like pure Windex.... I smelled the edp and that one is so much better... smell both before buying!!!
I think this is discontinued... sniff sniff! I found two of these in my local Ross for $3.99 each... yay me! I love all things incense, so these were perfect for me. Very strong (myrrh and olibanum-which is like frankincense) but still sweet smelling... very rich. I will never buy a cheap candle again, because the throw of these is amazing... they smell up the room without being lit!! Now, if I can just get my hands on more of them...
I tried this mascara when I first started wearing makeup. It worked ok, but I then tried quite a few other ones. Since my lashes are pretty long and full, I've gone back to this one in Blackest Black simply because it works and it's cheap. It is a little on the watery side of things, but that keeps it from clumping up as much. And it's SO easy to replace... just throw it on the checkout belt next time you're in Target!
Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Britney Spears Believe
mjoy14 6/18/2009 10:32:00 AM
I was pleasantly surprised by this one! Did it really take all of that chaos for Brit to make a good fragrance? Lol, this was pretty nice. I don't think it mixes with my chemistry well enough to buy it (it has green notes in it), but at least stop to smell this one next time you're out. I'm pretty impressed.
I usually like sweet scents, but to me this was unremarkable. I like to be wowed by a fragrance (and I like to wow others :D) but this wasn't amazing enough for me. However, I'm not surprised that others like it... It just didn't impress me or stand out in any way. Oh and if you're looking for it (discontinued?!) I saw quite a few at Khol's yesterday! Check Marshall's too.
Gels/Soaps -Bath and Body Works - Mango Mandarin Shower Gel
mjoy14 6/17/2009 11:35:00 PM
I used this shower gel when I was in college because the smell would wake me up instantly. I'm not a citrus girl so I don't miss it, but it definately is strong. Otherwise it's just a basic shower gel... nothing special.
I read reviews and thought I'd try the little jar (Melaluca brand) that my mom had in her kitchen before I spent the money on MB's buffering lotion for the occasional cystic acne that pops up. MB's worked ok but I wasn't wowed enough to overlook what I already had on hand. SO I tried it... 1) this stuff is SO STRONG!!! I could barely breathe while putting it on and it smelled up the whole room!! SO I have decided to apply it in the bathroom instead of the bedroom... at least it makes it smell clean! 2) this stuff is SO EFFECTIVE!!! Each time I applied it, the bump just got smaller... now it's non existent... just after two applications! I def will use this from now on to combat any pimples, cystic or otherwise, that I get. I just won't use it in my room!!!
Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - EXTRA VIRGIN Coconut Oil (All brands)
mjoy14 6/17/2009 10:55:00 PM
I've tried this as a body lotion, hair conditioner (hot oil treatment), lip balm, and as eyelash conditioner... my eyelashes became very full and thick and LONG with using this!! But for every other use... not so much fun.
OMW!!!! I've seen this stuff everywhere forever but simply never paid atten to J. lo's perfumes... I'm not exactly a fan of hers. But this past week I saw Maid in Manhattan and thought about her when I was in Khol's today to sample fragrances... I hate Glo and Still so I didn't bother to try the others... but a woman walked by me having just sprayed Live and I loved it so much that I almost ran after her to ask her what it was!! I sprayed it on the card and then myself and realized this stuff was fantastic. I've seen it all the time at Marshall's so I didn't buy it today... next paycheck on to Marshall's I"ll go! For reference, I smell best with sweet, gourmand, and musk scents... so this stuff is PERFECT on me!! I smell like I just took a warm pineapple caramel vanilla bath! :D BTW, this is the ONLY frag of hers that I liked... now "Waiting For Tonight" is in my head!!! lol...
Cleansers -Rachel Perry - Tangerine Dream Cleanser [DISCONTINUED]
mjoy14 6/17/2009 4:32:00 PM
I got this 3 days ago and I love it so far! I picked it up in TJ Maxx for $5.99... and I'm tempted to go back for the other one! I think it's a perfect blend of Mario Badescu's Enzyme and Glycolic cleansers... strong but gentle. At first it seemed like my skin was purging, but it's absolutely glowing now. I use a half pump in the morning and a full one at night- 1 1/2 pump if removing makeup. I then follow up with Rachel Perry's Perfectly Clear toner (also excellent) and at night, MB's Glycolic gel...I think this is the best cleanser I've ever tried... kudos to Rachel Perry. I"ll update if it becomes an HG! Update 7/9/09: HG for me! This is the best stuff to use... the texture of my skin is completely different now... LOVE IT!!
Lotions/ Creams -Burt's Bees - Healthy Hands Hand Repair Kit
mjoy14 6/8/2009 1:55:00 PM
I loved receiving this kit! I love the cuticle creme (separate review) and the banana lotion with the gloves is the the only thing that keeps my hands alive in the winter. The shea butter cream smells funny, but it does work. All together, a very nice gift... thanks Mom!
Bath Treatments -Archipelago Botanicals - Soleil Bath Crystals
mjoy14 6/8/2009 1:48:00 PM
I love these bath salts! I found my jar at Ross for $2.99... what a deal! They are perfectly dissolving and have the most wonderful scent. Ross also had them in Savannah, but I didn't want to smell like a hot summer day!
Toners -Thayers - Original Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera
mjoy14 6/8/2009 1:45:00 PM
I like using this as a refresher. I put it in a separate spray bottle for convenience. I love how moist my skin is afterwards.
This is the best stuff I've found for ingrown hairs. Being caramel colored, I try my hardest to avoid anything that will cause scarring... but shaving is a must! So is eyebrow waxing... this helps to minimize any horrible breakouts. So I know this stuff is effective for ingrown hairs. It's expensive but worth it. But be warned... it STINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
