Gels/Soaps -Jason Natural Cosmetics - Satin Shower Body Wash Rosewater and Glycerin
rated 4 of 5

One thing Jason doesn't do well is scents. They aren't bad per se, just boring and not particularly pleasant. Rosewater is no different, but I like it enough over the other scents. But really, that is about the only negative about this product. It suds really well, even without sodium lauryl sulfate. It isn't drying or iritating, contains no parabens, and isn't tested on animals. It isn't exactly the rock star of the body wash world, but you can't beat it's practicality and price (about $12.00 for 30 ounces).

Polishes -Rescue Beauty Lounge - Chinoise
rated 5 of 5

To be fair, I am a sucker for red cremes, but this RBL's Chinoise is amazing. It's the perfect vivid, midtone red, not too blue or orange. It wears well, but what makes it so special is the application. Despite a sadly narrow brush, this polish applies like a dream. It goes exactly where you want it. It's thin, but is opaque in two coats.

Treatments -Sephora - nourishing cuticle oil - pen
rated 4 of 5

This is such a great little product. I purchased the original scent and love the sort of woodsy, green scent it has which I suspect is at least partially a result of the tea tree oil that makes up the formula. It works wonders on the cuticle and is so easy to apply. Alas, I must give the product an overall score of four, however, because I just can't get behind a perfect score for a product that costs $12.00 for .05 oz.

Treatments -Creative Nail Design - Solar Oil
rated 5 of 5

Solar Oil is wonderful. When applied several times a day to the cuticles, it really keeps them neat, healthy and looking smooth. It smells lovely, like warm almonds, but the scent is not cloying and dissipates as soon as the oil is absorbed into the skin (which is quickly). I'm not crazy about the price which averages about $5-$8 for a half ounce, but it sure seems worth it.

Top/Base Coats -Nailtek - Foundation II - Ridge-filling
rated 5 of 5
mixmastertiki 5/26/2010 4:34:00 PM

I had been buffing my nails to get a glossy polish finish for a while, but found that it left my nails thin and peeling. I chose Nailtek's Foundation II because it promised to act as a ridge filler and nail strengthener. Application is a breeze. Not only does the product dry very quickly, but the brush is amazing and makes for single stroke application for all but the widest nails. After several weeks of use, my nails are no longer peeling and are significantly stronger. And while the ridge filling effect of the product doesn't quite give the same affect as buffing, my nails still have a nice gloss when polished. My only complaint is that often after the first or second coat of polish is added atop, the Nailtek will seep into the polish and partially mattify it, which may make this a hassle for those who are not using a topcoat.

Lip Treatments -L'Occitane - 10% shea butter anti-drying lip balm
rated 2 of 5
mixmastertiki 5/26/2010 11:11:00 AM

Unlike other reviewers, I had no problem with application or moisturization with this product. I found the balm smooth to apply and moderately long lasting. On the other hand, sweet baby Jesus, does this stuff smell and taste awful. The scent is reminiscent of cheap strawberry incense and stale wax, and the taste is like grandma's perfume. Ugh.
