Eye Shadow -GOSH - Mineral Waterproof Eye Shadow

This is what I hoped the Maybelline Color Tattoos would be. I have it in "brown", which is more of a champagne-beige muted shade, with subtle shimmer that imparts dimension as opposed to sparkle. It comes in a wind-up tube which is 1000% better than the awkward pot of the CT, and it lasts almost all day on me. This shade makes a great all over wash of neutral color or a nice shadow base (NW20). My only gripe is the $14 price tag, which feels a bit steep for a drugstore product, even though there are many DS brands pricing this way. Still, I really like this! Very happy!

Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous in Pink Pearl

Very pretty MLBB pinky/browny nude. Very subtle shimmer and semi-sheer, adds nice depth and makes lips look a bit poutier. Similar to Revlon SL Smokey Rose but less plummy/brown and more pinky/rosy/nude .Very nice!! Going to buy a couple of backups in case it's LE. Also texture is nice; often Revlon SL can end up being pretty drying but this one is better than the average. Still a balm underneath is a good idea. This was an impulse buy; I'm so glad I bought it.

Treatments -Garnier - Fall FIght Leave In Conditioner/Treatment

This whole line is really working well for me. It's definitely helping. I've been shedding excessively due to anemia (according to my dr). He put me on iron supplements for a few of months and I have been extra gentle with my hair. I started been using the fall fight shampoo, the fall fight conditioner and the fall fight leave in and I am shedding less! In fact, hardly shedding at all compared to before which is amazing! I massage each product in per the instructions and bottom line, I'm shedding a lot less. With this leave in, I really use it more as a scalp treatment than anything else. I use my normal L'Oreal extra body mousse on the length of the hair after massaging in the fall fight treatment. It comes in a spritz bottle and is easy to use. No fuss. I love the whole line and have bought a couple of backups because I don't see it everywhere. Please don't discontinue!!!!

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast 24 HR Mascara
rated 5 of 5
missthing303 8/8/2012 12:29:00 AM

New HG. This is good stuff. Much prefer this to original Lash Blast WP. It lasts all day, even overnight, doesn't flake or fade until you take it off. The Black Brown shade is a dark espresso brown, whereas the regular Lash Blast Black Brown is just brown, not dark at all which I didn't like. The 24 Hour version is just right! Have alrady bought a few times

Pressed Powders -GOSH - pressed powder
rated 4 of 5
missthing303 7/30/2012 11:13:00 PM

I'm a NW15-20 with very pink undertones and I have this in the 02 Natural shade. This powder is the best shade match I have yet found. Nothing is EVER pink enough for me (I have tried them ALL, from HE to DS). This would be perfect if it was full coverage-this is medium coverage at best- but it is very silky and finely milled so it is possible to layer it on for decent general coverage. It's great for finishing powder over concealer or foundation, which will provide the silky finish over fuller coverage for a breakout. My other HG is Palladio Wet/Dry Powder foundation in Laurel Nude which is a decent fair/neutral shade match with great coverage and nice texture, but the Gosh 02 Natural is a much better shade match for me. Gosh is just pink enough and doesn't oxidize. I've been using the Palladio as a base coat for coverage and finishing with the Gosh for the shade correction and finish, which is working well for some hyperpigmentation I am trying to correct. I've already purchsed a backup for my purse and as long as my skin behaves, this will be my go-to powder. Very pleased that my local Duane Reade started carrying this!

Blush -NARS - Amour
rated 5 of 5
missthing303 7/15/2012 1:05:00 AM

Honestly. this is the blush I have been searching for. I am a fair/neutral/cool brunette (NW15) w brown hair and eyes, and I have been looking for that color that makes me look like I just ran in from the cold. This is that color. I don't think I will ever need another blush (until I run out). No shimmer, rosy pink, nicely pigmented, lasts all day. What more could you ask for? I may as well purge all my other blushes. This is my new one and only. HG! Yay!

Fragrances -Perry Ellis - 360 Degrees for Women
rated 5 of 5
missthing303 3/11/2012 5:07:00 PM

I really LOVE this! I'd never even heard of it but I was in Home Depot of all places and one of the female SA's smelled like a really fresh shampoo. It was strong enough that I was sniffing down the aisle to find the source, but when I found her it was not overwhelming, just really really nice. I asked her what she was wearing and she replied Perry Ellis 360". I had been searching for a shampoo-y scent for ages and was looking for something to replace Amazing Grace which doesn't seem to have any lasting power now that Coty bough them out, which is a shame. I had switched to JLo Glow which was kind of shampoo-y and some scented oil dupes of the old Herbal Essence Green scent from the 70's shampoo. 360 is by far the best smelling clean, fresh scent on me. It does not pull cloyingly sweet on me as most scents do. It's just clean, fresh and bright. A nice mix of citrus, florals and a hint of musk I think. It is quite strong though, so I just dab it on my skin and lightly misted my coat and scarf once and that is plenty. I have worn it daily since I found it on Amazon, and I hope they keep making it as it seems kind of obscure. EDIT: The drydown on this is a little odd on me. It smells vaguely like spilled coffee, which isn't exactly bad, just odd. I wear this less since I figured out that the spilled coffee smell was coming from ME when I wear this. It's still lovely and shampoo-y though. Sadly my chemistry is tricky.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Exact Waterproof
rated 5 of 5
missthing303 2/18/2012 7:23:00 PM

This is my current HG. I much prefer it to LB WP. It does not flake or smudge on me at all, gives me nice length, separation, volume. the silicon brush works fine (I usually hate them). I have tried every HE and DS variety of WP and this is by far my favorite. I also use the brown shade with MUFE brow gel brush to fill in my sparse brows and it looks natural, lasts all day. LOVE. I am concerned bc this is no longer on the CG display at my Walgreens. I SERIOUSLY hope they do not discontinue this. PLEASE CG!

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - BOMBSHELL
rated 2 of 5
missthing303 2/3/2012 8:53:00 PM

EDIT: AT first this smelled like shampoo on me, which I loved! Sadly, the next day this seemed to change on my skin. Now it smells VERY masculine, to the extent that I thought my SO has started wearing some new cologne. Then I realized it was ME!! If I can find the receipt, I will return this. It really smells like aftershave on me. I would actually recommend this for guys, it's still nice. But reeeeaaaalllly NOT for me. Waste of money. Boo:-(((

Lipstick -Jordana - Toasty Taupe
rated 5 of 5
missthing303 1/26/2012 12:09:00 AM

I've been meaning to review this forever. This has become my everyday lipstick (for reference, NW15, dark brown hair, eyes). The name is a total misdirect as it is not at all a taupey shade. It's a very pretty corally/pink terra cotta shade with a very subtle shimmer. It is semi-matte and lasts a long time without drying my lips out. A lot like NARS lipsticks actually, but without the uber-drying effect that comes with them.( Any fan of NARS Dolce Vita should try this because it's a similar universal shade, perhaps a bit deeper and with a touch of shimmer that adds depth as opposed to sparkle). Plus these Jordana lipsticks are crazy-cheap!!! I have stocked up on this shade and have one in every bag. I have literally TONS of lipsticks from every price range, and it's hilarious that this is my go to shade of the moment. Love it. (will post swatch asap)

Powder -Palladio - Wet/Dry foundation
rated 5 of 5
missthing303 2/2/2011 4:25:00 AM

This is my current HG powder foundation, and I have tried them ALL: Lancome, Dior, Clinique, Smashbox, Illamasqua, Studio Gear, BE, L'Oreal, Body Shop, Sephpra, Prestige, Jordana and probably a few others. My problem is that I am very pale with pink undertones and NOTHING is ever pink and pale enough with full coverage for me. I have some hyperpigmentation around my mouth that I am working to clear so full coverage was needed. I found the Palladio at Ulta for $9.99; the shade Laurel Nude is an excellent match for my skintone, with full and buildable coverage, long-lasting and not cakey (not unlike the texture of the $46.00 dior powder foundation which had a lovely texture and coverage but terrible shade selection for me). It could be a touch pinker for me but I am not complaining. It does not oxidize either, which some of the others I tried did (Lancome and Clinique especially). I have only used it dry, but I like the vented chamber for the little sponge that would allow it to dry if it was used wet. Very happy and have already purchased a 2nd compact so I can have one at home and one in my purse. LOVE.

Fragrances -J. Lo - Glow
rated 5 of 5
missthing303 1/14/2011 12:19:00 AM

I have been looking for a clean, soapy or shampoo-ey sort of scent for ages. I love all the Grace fragrances, The Clean brand fragrances are nice but a bit too strong to the point of cloying on me; I've tried etailer dupes of shampoo and soap scents like Coast, Irish Spring Soap and original 70s green Herbal Essence Shampoo which had become my preferred type of fragrance. I had heard that JLo Glow could be soapy on some, but I find the whole celebrity perfume thing annoying so I never bothered to sniff. Imagine my suprise when I tried it on a whim in Ulta and found myself sniffing my wrist all day as the drydown got softer and cleaner and deliciously shampoo-esque. I bought a bottle next day and have been spritzing my coat, scarf, and everything else ever since. I wish there were more products in the line (of this Glow scent in particular, have not tried the others) and I wish there was a purse size in the perfume and lotion, maybe even a candle, room spray etc. My new signature scent! I'm almost out and need to repurchase this week! LOVE

Blush -Jordana - Redwood
rated 5 of 5
missthing303 12/27/2010 5:50:00 AM

This is a great dupe for higher end blushes such as Nars Torrid or Dolce Vita or Mac Bite of an Apple, and of other dupe shades such as WnW Berry Shimmer. But out of all the blushes mentioned I actually prefer Jordana Redwood! It's very pigmented, very, very slight amount of shimmer-almost imperceptable. As such it must be applied lightly and blended well but it gives me the perfect rosy/red/pinky flush as if I'd been out in the cold romping in the snow (for reference I'm a cool/neutral toned PPP, brown eyes, hair). It has great lasting power, blends well and is super cheap. I think I paid $3 for it in my local 99c store. It has become my go-to daily blush and I will repurchase as long as they keep making it. It has a screwtop which I like; does not take up too much space with fussy packaging. I have a number of Jordana products and find that they have excellent quality for the price and hold up well against HE brands. I have a few lipsticks I wear all the time. I just wish they'd expand the range of shades (with lipsticks anyway) to more wearable colors as opposed to some of the extreme bright or dark colors they have now. But I can't say the same for the blushes, the few shades I've seen are all lovely and Redwood is my favorite. It would also be a great way to testdrive the general shade before investing in one of the higher end blushes I mentioned above. LOVE
