Lips -Yves Saint Laurent - Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain (All Shades)
misstaggart 3/14/2013 12:00:00 PM
This beats out any other stain I've tried. Yes, the finish looks glossy but feels semi-matte, but what I want out of a stain more than anything is amazing color that is positively ANCHORED to my pout, so I love that about it. I don't understand how it works, it's magic! I have it in three colors: 5 - Rouge Vintage (a very comely rose petal pink) 10 - Rouge Philtre (classic berry red) 26 - Violine Surrealiste (very bright plum w/ a dash of pink) Definitely try these puppies on if you're able to, before buying (especially at this price). What you see in the tube might be a shade or two away from what you're going for, so it's important to play with a few shades in the same family before committing. I almost always ended up buying the shade I wasn't sure I'd like, and never bought the very first shade I picked up! I think if I just add a nice orange-y coral, my collection (and bank account) can rest for a bit. I'm not sure how much I'm gonna love the packaging (which is pretty) when the product starts to run low, and there is some color separation, but you can swirl it around to re-blend. It's brutal how expensive they are, but if you need a stain for special occasion or want to splurge, consider this for sure!

Mascara -Besame - Gingerbread 1930's Waterproof Mascara
misstaggart 3/14/2013 11:49:00 AM
HOLY SMOKES, THIS PUPPY IS BACK IN STOCK. I'm stocking up. OK, I'm buying two tubes, and keeping fingers crossed that they keep it around this time. I love this mascara. It smells divine, gives great lash, and the packaging is stunning. Move over, YSL and Tom Ford. Besame did it first! Paraben-free? Yes. Safe for sensitive peepers? Yes. Conditioning, pampering formula? Absolutely. Nobody ever said that lashes MUST look like falsies 24/7 to be beautiful, and if you're the kind of girl who subscribes to that belief, then more Gingerbread 1930s Mascara goodness for the rest of us!

Lip Treatments -Nuance by Salma Hayek - Hydrating Balm Rose Petal
misstaggart 8/20/2012 5:19:00 PM
I love this, have gone through like three already and feel like I can't live without 'em! I have sort of fussy, sensitive skin, but no problems with the balm despite its scent, which I find lovely. The container is a pain but the product is so worth it, honestly. One of the greatest things about this is how it sticks to your lips (without being sticky) so you really feel that it lasts and moisturizes for days, and also that it sinks it so nicely and gradually.

Skincare - Face -Mario Badescu - Herbal Hydrating Serum
misstaggart 6/13/2012 8:19:00 PM
Great product. Got a sample just in time for a long flight to the UK, and the havoc that changing climates from foggy SF to summer in London will take on your skin. It saved me! No miracles, just plump, hydrated, non-oily skin that you can then have your way with. A little goes a long way, if you're concerned about the cost for the amt. of product you get.

Treatments (Eye) -Cosmedicine - Opti-mologist with Light Diffusers
misstaggart 12/2/2008 11:50:00 PM
Boo. I can't believe everyone is so mean to this (or it to them); I LIKED that it was thick and sank in so well. I guess it's the dimethicone, perhaps? No marked difference in undereye circles, but it had no averse effects and it was soothing.

Tinted Moisturizer -Laura Mercier - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20
misstaggart 12/2/2008 11:38:00 PM
Good lord, Mercier's TM and I just do not mix. After Kiehl's and / or a light dusting of Besame's pressed powder, putting this on felt just fine, but looked terrible in person. It photographed well, which I thought was strange, since it looked so...splotchy and terrible in the mirror. It's almost like it gave zero coverage in some places and blotchy coverage in others, inexplicably. Granted, it went on over a vitamin E moisturizer (which was never an issue with Kiehl's TM or powder) and NOT a primer, but the fewer layers I manage to cake on in the morning, the better. EPIC FAIL, LAURA MERCIER.

Moisturizers -Kinerase - Clear Skin Moisture Light [DISCONTINUED]
misstaggart 12/2/2008 11:33:00 PM
So, I no longer really even need tinted moisturizer. Why bother, when CSML has given me such pretty, even, dewy, near-flawless skin (and it's only been 2.5 weeks)? Exactly.

Blush -Cargo - Prague
misstaggart 9/27/2008 11:41:00 PM
Pros: Whatever it is that NARS Orgasm tries to be, Cargo's Prague is. For me, anyway. Soft, natural, sweet rosy color. Cons: Um, none. Just don't have a heavy hand! Never have a heavy hand! If someone were to make a movie about my life and the actress playing me had to shoot a scene where she woke up in bed, I'd be all, "SHE MUST HAVE CARGO PRAGUE BLUSH ON IN THIS SCENE!" Like that.

Lipstick -Cargo - Lipstick
misstaggart 9/27/2008 11:38:00 PM
Pros: ZOMG! Biodegradable! So, so pretty! Be patient with these lovelies. They need a little bit of time to really settle and "turn" on your lips. I'd say at least 5-10 minutes. I have Nahinni, Yakushima and Maria. More below. Cons: None, aside from the fact that you'll have to really try these on and give them time to fall in love. Maria: "Sheer poppy red cream" - I swipe this on over a nude liner by Fresh and let it settle into the most beautifully soft red natural lip ever. I am not exaggerating when I say the final effect is post-sex, post-Popsicle, post-eating-berries, post-workout all wrapped into one. Nahinni: "Shimmering copper brown" - I put this on and I hate it, b/c it looks too brown, but I ignore it and check my lips in the rearview mirror on the way to work 20 minutes later and it's, of course, a lovely "my lips but better" shade. Yakushima: "Sheer glimmering red" - More of a sheer glimmering tart pink on my lips, but still a fun and subtle pop of color. Would probs reach for Maria over this, but when I want a little touch of sass, this does fine!

Lip Gloss -Cargo - Lipgloss duo in Turramurra
misstaggart 9/27/2008 11:31:00 PM
Pros: Pretty colors. Cons: Doesn't last. Doesn't have pleasant smell or taste. Like I said, I'm not a gloss girl.

Eye Shadow -Cargo - Duo ~ Oregon
misstaggart 9/27/2008 11:26:00 PM
Pros: Dreamy, dreamy, dreamy. If Kentucky is my daytime go-to duo, Oregon is fantastic for a classy night out. You want old-timey elegance? You have it in this duo. As ever, you don't get creamier or smoother than Cargo shadows. Can be applied with a fluffy shading brush or clean fingers in a pinch. Lovely paired with a seriously matte plum lip or soft, shimmery, barely-there coral stain. Cons: NONE. Dreamy. Give it. Want.

Blush -Cargo - Fresno
misstaggart 9/27/2008 11:22:00 PM
Pros: Mm, Fresno. So pretty. So peachy and golden and soft. I love to layer this over The Balm's Staniac in Homecoming Queen, which is under a wee bit of Kiehl's Tinted Moisturizer. Cons: Use caution when applying, lest you end up with the LiLo effect.

Eye Shadow -Cargo - Duo ~ Kentucky
misstaggart 9/27/2008 11:21:00 PM
Pros: ZOMG, I will never, ever be able to even LIVE without Kentucky in my life. So pretty. I have honey brown eyes and this is the fastest way to a soft, pretty interesting eye that is always so, so flattering. As always, Cargo shadows are silky smooth and difficult to screw up. Cons: NONE! Just be careful with the tins, y'all!

Eye Shadow -Cargo - Aegean
misstaggart 9/27/2008 11:19:00 PM
Pros: Insanely beautiful, pigmented color! Goes on like silk - as do all Cargo shadows. Cons: None. Seriously. OK, OK. I don't get why there isn't more love for Aegean. It's so gorgeous! A bit of a color commitment, yes, but you can't beat how lovely it is - a wonderfully golden peacock blue-green shade.

Powder -Cargo - Wet/Dry Powder Foundation
misstaggart 9/27/2008 11:15:00 PM
Pros: I really can't say there are any. Cons: Broke me out, seems too thick and...sweaty, or something. The package is ridiculous. The color too obvious. I just really wasn't fond of this at all.
