Mascara -Jordana - Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara

Are you kidding - this product is amazing. I've used the high end and the 'middle end' for so long and then got one of these babies and couldn't believe it. It is the mascara of queens. I'm hitting up the k-mart for what is left in stock. It took me a few months to get the one I have. $2.99. I will buy this again & again. Lasts all day - makes my lashes stand out.

Blush -MAC - Coppertone
rated 5 of 5
misssweetmarie 4/6/2013 2:34:00 PM

Coppertone was chosen for me by a male makeup artist at an MAC store in Manhattan. It is a deep terra cotta peach: the bigger and tad bolder sister to Gingerly. Coppertone gives a burst of color like an afternoon in the sun. I am a fair-medium tone, neutral to warm I'd say. I am on my second/third of these. My daughter took the second one I bought - she loved it too.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - NCN Skincare GHK-Cu Copper Peptide Serum with EGF

Copper peptides as a skincare product takes time to show results. Unlike some products that work seemingly within days or overnight copper peptides are a different animal. They work slowly and require time and patience to achieve the desired outcome~~a long term, lasting positive change is seen as the skin is slowly transformed and improved.

Blush -LORAC - Powder blush in Soul
rated 2 of 5
misssweetmarie 12/16/2012 11:23:00 PM

I like the color of Soul - I chose it for that reason plus great reviews on MUA AND it was part of a really nice set of products that I wanted to try. (Sephora). The blush dropped - not on a hard surface yet the entire compressed blush disintegrated into powder - no chunks - just fell completely apart into a zillion particles - You couuld say it's more like a mineral blush now which for me is harder to work with. I was surprised at how completely it fell to pieces.. I've dropped blushers in my years but this was unusual.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Soba (Satin)
rated 4 of 5
misssweetmarie 11/23/2012 7:26:00 PM

Soba was introduced to me in Macys - NYC as a brow color and I've loved it for this ever since. Maybe I should try it on the lids next time - from what I am reading at MUA it seems to make a natural and lovely crease color. Edited 4/2013 Soba deserves more love in the MAC world. Still wearing SOBA - good multipurpose neutral for brow and lid.

Bronzers -Too Faced - Chocolate Soleil
rated 5 of 5
misssweetmarie 10/15/2012 10:03:00 PM

This is my go-to face contour product. It is a matte powder packaged in a very nice compact. The light chocolate smell is kind of a surprise at first but also pleasant. This product provides just the right amount of 'color' to create depth for cheekbone definition and also under jawline and chin and also to give cleavage that extra little oomph (LOL). Nothing orange-y or glittery or sparkly and comes off very subtle if used correctly. Highly recommend for the purpose of subtle slimming and or definition.

Lip Treatments -E.L.F. - Studio Lip Exfoliator
rated 5 of 5

I just recieved this product. It's convenient, works great for exfoliating and is extremely reasonably priced and packaging looks expensive. I'm going to get more for Christmas gifts - every girl would love and use this. Gets the lips all prepped up for a favorite lippie or gloss.

Lipstick -Rimmel - Moisture Renew - Dusty Rose
rated 4 of 5
misssweetmarie 8/30/2012 8:48:00 PM

This lipstick is such a surprise. The color is lovely - It is a soft rose brown with a slight sheen. The scent and 'taste' is pleasant too. It feels so good on and presents your lips in a very attractive - natural but better way. I love it. A pretty little purple package and at a good price. I need to find more Rimmel colors I like.

Blush -E.L.F. - Studio Blush in Candid Coral
rated 3 of 5
misssweetmarie 7/28/2012 6:02:00 PM

I have been pleasantly surprised with ELF products. ... At times amazed at how wonderful they are. For a product that can be purchased so inexpensively the packaging is divine. Really - hard to believe. The brushes are amazing.... On to the Candid Coral blush. I have been wanting to try this for so long. Recently I submitted a big order to ELF and yay! it arrived. It was the first product I tried. Oh my. It didn't look horrible but I never expected to see the glitter type effect it gave me. It was more highlighter than blush (totally). The effect will likey be different on fairer skin tones - I could not see any coral at all. I will likely use this on top of a bronzer to give me some "fun".... I'd say the pigment is very mild..... the container is quite nice - a mirror and no ridiculous brush to take up space.

Foundations -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector Daily All-In-One
rated 3 of 5
misssweetmarie 6/28/2012 1:22:00 AM

I have used Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer in Sand (and Nude) and like this almost as well. At first it seems that the color is off but after doing the blend blend blend it's okay. And then I deal with ... is it too greasy, oily... but then it actually absorbs in and looks great. Must be my age. LOL... Later in the day I look at my skin and I always say to myself - hey it looks pretty good..... I did buy a back up so I must like it. EDITED: Gave backup to my daughter. I just find it to be too oily for me. I noticed Garnier has a newer formula for oily skin so that might be the ticket

Blush -NYX - pinched
rated 5 of 5
misssweetmarie 6/25/2012 11:03:00 AM

I am very impressed with 'pinched' - a beautiful pink/peach color. I have used Nars orgasm and did not repurchase as it was a little too glittery and too costly - not impressive enough to justify the expense. Pinched goes on so lovely. One swipe with a soft blush brush, a slight 'tap off' and lightly apply to the cheeks for a soft and subtle glow. For the record I did not expect to like this the way I do. I ordered this on-line based on reveiws and also got a couple e/s and I love them too. What do you know.... Happy Camper to find a quality makeup line and inexpensive to boot.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - 8-pan Palette "Comfort Zone"
rated 4 of 5
misssweetmarie 5/31/2012 10:52:00 AM

The color icon eyeshadow formula for Wet N Wild is a hit ~great payoff in general and and Comfort Zone has wearable colors; nothing crazy or exotic really. There are many dupes for both Urban Decay and MAC shadows in this 8 pan palette. I bought it as a travel size ~ cheaper - not caring if I lost it or it broke. I find the texture to be soft, smooth, and blendable and the product is long lasting. My favorite is the Ricepaper (MAC) dupe - top color on the left of the palette and the the bottom color left is a sub for SMUT from MAC. The bottom color on the right is similar to CLUB from MAC. Club is a favorite es from MAC on Makeup Alley. If you're looking to save some cash and get a nice grouping of wearable, blendable, expensive looking shadows this is the ticket. I probably won't buy again but only because this will see me through. My only 'complaint' is that these are more shimmer than I care for but you can work with them. You need to incorporate some mattes for blending and toning things down a bit.

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium
rated 4 of 5
misssweetmarie 5/8/2012 3:26:00 PM

I have wanted to try a BB cream and decided to give this a whirl since it was on sale. Let me say first off I am not much for base makeup. I have, however used Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer and a few other similar items off and on through the years. My skin is on the oily side so I didn't quite know what to expect. I think it is a great product - especially for the money. Initially when I put it on I think "no way" - it looks like the color is wrong and too heavy, greasy, etc. Allowed to settle in the result is a very nice smooth, glowy look - no kabuki! for me. I am impressed. And it has SPF also.

Treatments -Suave - Keratin Infusion Treatment 30 Day Smoothing Kit [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
misssweetmarie 4/8/2012 8:00:00 PM

I am surprised to read the poor reviews on this product. I've tried many Keratin-type 'smoothing' treatments and this was the best result and for the least amount of money. Remarkable really. I am caucasion with blonde thick, hair - past my shoulders; which tends toward frizzy. My hair texture varies from fine to medium - a real bugger at times to deal with. Great result. I suspect one of the issues is with the first phase of treatment - it has the potential to really tangle the hair up when rinsed out but the follow up treatment is very moisturizing. You need to follow the directions for proper timing and err on the side of caution especially if you have fine or more sensitive hair. Edited to add - this is really not a keratin treatment - it's really a straightening product and caution is advised.
