Cleansers -Avene - Cleanance soapless gel cleanser for oily skin
missmostyn 3/25/2012 1:54:00 AM
I absolutely adore this cleanser, been using it for three years, on my fourth bottle. It is very gentle yet removes my makeup thoroughly, also use it with Olay Cleansing brush. I have another bottle in the shower to cleanse my neck and chest. Wonderful product!

I can't live without these eyedrops!! It removes the redness off my eyes completely with a cooling effect, it is like Altoids for eyes, as strange as it sounds. I place one drop in each eye as part of my morning routine, making my eyes lok refreshed. HG stuff, I tell ya!

Moisturizers -L'Occitane - Immortelle Divine Cream
missmostyn 3/25/2012 1:34:00 AM
I finished using this cream not long ago. This cream has a lovely texture and is a good moisturizer overall. But i felt the fragrance was too strong for a face cream and at time clashed with my perfume during the day and was overpowering for bedtime. I used a small cream spatula to scoop the product and i am not a fan of jars. And it's hella expensive. I liked it but it is not a HG cream for me. will not repurchase.

Moisturizers -Weleda - Pomegranate Firming Night Cream
missmostyn 3/25/2012 1:18:00 AM
I am writing this review because the previous two below also appear in the pomegranate serum review. There are not many review on this product online, so I felt I had to sing praise. This night cream rules! This cream is marketed for "mature" skin, but it has done wonders for me. I wake up with glowing supple skin ready to face the day. I twas given a sample from Whole Foods, gave it a try, and was so pleased i bought a full size. The cream has a pleasant scent, very emollient on contact but not heavy, a pea size is enough to cover my entire face. I dare say it has cleared up my acne prone- skin.

Fragrances -Diptyque - Tam Dao
missmostyn 7/9/2011 6:43:00 PM
Sandalwood is my favorite scent, and from reviews and recommendations, Tam Dao promised to be just that. At first spritz, Tam Dao opens as a very, very dry cedarwood or pine, almost too dry...and then it settles into a creamy sandalwood...but this is only short-lived...and then the scent is gone altogether. The Sandalwood part is great, almost worth the dry cedar and constant reapplication, but it just seems like too much work for something that I could probably find in another perfume. UPDATE: I enentually moved on to other scents yet kept my bottle in my bathroom cabinet. When my brother was in town visiting he tried it and liked it so much I let him keep it.

Cleansers -Bioderma - Sensibio H2O (aka Crealine H20 Solution micellaire)
missmostyn 7/9/2011 6:25:00 PM
This product is the best eye makeup remover I have ever tried and is my current HG product. It really does remove every last bit of eye makeup, including mascara, and does not leave any residue behind. Sensibio H2O (or Crealine) lives up to every praise it receives!

Eyeliner -MAC - Technakohl Eyeliner in Purple Dash
missmostyn 2/8/2009 7:25:00 PM
I love, love, love me some Purple Dash! This is a staple in my daily make-up routine, this is the only eye makeup I wear other than mascara. Purple Dash compliments my fair skin and hazel eyes. I do need to reapply though, it tends to fade by mid-afternoon. Otherwise, it's a good eyeliner.

Moisturizers -Clarins - HydraQuench Cooling Cream-Gel
missmostyn 2/8/2009 7:14:00 PM
I've been using HydraQuench Cooling Cream-Gel for a week now, and so far I've gotten great results. My face no longer feels tight in the areas that were dry, and does not exacerbate oiliness. This cream-gel is ideal for normal/combination skin or hot climates, which is ideal as I have comination skin and live in a hot and humid city. After cleansing, I just scoop a small dollop of cream-gel, warm it with my hands, and gently pat it on my face and neck, day and night. The consistency is of a cream, but it does not feel heavy upon application. The product comes in a sturdy light blue glass jar, and I wish that it came in a pump instead, to keep the product away from fingers or small spatulas. I suppose the cream consistency does not allow for a pump. The only thing that I am not crazy for is the scent, which reminds me of old lady creams. This was surprising to me, as Clarins is known for having lovely scents on their products. Overall, this is a great moisturizer, and it will deliver.

Sunscreen -Clarins - (New Formula) UV Plus Day Screen SPF 40 High Protection with E3P
missmostyn 11/29/2008 12:03:00 AM
The older version of UV Plus was my HG sunscreen. When I recently ran out, and went to buy a new one, the store only had the new version, so, naturally I bought it. Now that I am using this new formula for 2 weeks, I am constantly breaking out and my skin is oilier. I want the old formula back. Reading other reviews of this updated product, it seems that it has more emolient ingredients, so I suppose this is the reason why it is making my skin break out. I will finish this bottle and look at other options. I am sad because it is no longer my HG :-(

Sunscreen -La Roche Posay - Anthelios XL SPF 60 Fluide Extreme
missmostyn 11/28/2008 11:55:00 PM
After reading glowing reviews about this product, I bought it hoping that it would also work for me. Unfortunately, this sunscreen made me break out, made my skin extra oily, and also beaded upon application. I tried it for a week, but it just didn't work out for me. I now use this on my forearms and hands.

Moisturizers -Weleda - Skin Food
missmostyn 8/2/2008 3:49:00 PM
This cream is an excellent emolient for very dry skin areas, such as elbows, hands, cuticles, knees or anywhere on the body that needs relief for dry skin. Also, I have tried this cream on my eye area, just a tiny bit is needed to moisturize. I wouldn't use this as a face moisturizer though. The consistency is too heavy for my skin type, and there is no mention in the packaging that it is "non-comedogenic". I do like the herbal/citrus scent, and the small 0.32oz size is perfect for purse & travel.

Fragrance -Fresh - Cannabis Santal
missmostyn 6/7/2008 8:38:00 PM
Being a fan of all sandalwood-based scents, this is a keeper for me! At first, the cedar-mossy scent is overpowering, but then quickly settles to a soft sandalwood. I bought the gift set, EDP and soap. The soap is wonderful too. will buy again!

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Natura - Ekos Pitanga
missmostyn 4/5/2008 3:47:00 PM
This scent, from the Ekos range made by Brazilian eco-cosmetics Natura, is a very fresh smelling, long-lasting deo-cologne, based on a brazilian berry called pitanga. Perfect for spring and summer, it is one of those fragrances that just puts you in a good mood. When I wore it in the US, I got so many compliments (mostly by guys!). I usually stay far away from fruit-based colognes, but this one is fresh and clean without being sweet. I love this fragrance!

Fragrances -Kenzo - Amour by Kenzo
missmostyn 4/5/2008 3:32:00 PM
I really wanted to love this fragrance....from reading the scent accords and user reviews, it seemed like my kind of fragrance. I even tried it at the fragrance counter, and took note of the evolution of the fragrance on my skin. Perhaps wishful thinking made me believe that I loved it. So I bought it, and the more I have worn it, the less I like it. The top notes are too sweet and powdery for my taste. Once it dries down I do like the woodsier base notes, but overall I am not a fan. The best thing about this fragrance is the bottle.

Sunscreen -Clarins - UV PLUS Protective Day Screen SPF 40
missmostyn 4/5/2008 3:26:00 PM
I have just bought my second bottle of this amazing product. A little goes a long way, the bottle lasted me about 5 months. The best thing about this product is lightweight consistency, a dime size is more than plenty to cover entire face. It is based on 100% mineral filters, and does not leave a gooey residue like other face sunblocks. I do notice a slight white coat over my face, but when I massage the product to let my skin soak it, the white veil usually disappears. Then I apply some mineral powder and it is unnoticeable. The price may seem high for such a small bottle, but it will last a long time and all you need is a bit of product to go a long way, worth every penny. This very well be my HG face sunblock.
