I got a sample of this with my purchase of Advanced Night Repair. Didn't think too much of it, but when I tried it, I fell in love with it. I have problem skin (oily skin with a dry patch here and there). That's why I got ANR. When I put the Daywear over it, my skin revives. It gets a nice glowy/dewy look which doesn't look or feel greasy at all. My problem zones vanished within a week. My skin looks and feels great. I have now an even skintone, hardly no blemishes and no greasy film. I use it as a night cream, and every morning I'm amazed how good my skin looks. I will definitely repurchase, as aparantly Estee Lauder is the only brand that is able to make my skin balanced en looking fabulous. Yes, it is pricy. But when I calculate how much money I have waisted the past years on regular drugstore creams and lotions which only made my skin looking worse, this comes out cheap! I like the jar, beautiful golden lid with the prettiest blue jar, suits really well in my bathroom, and gives a luxurious touch. Yes, I'm convinced! :)
Overall, I like this pale pink semi-transparant shade. It's cool toned, which goes great with my skin. It takes about 2-3 coates to get complete coverage though. I wear it when I'm in my "natural beauty mood". It looks very neat and it's very chic when you wear it on your feet. It gives me a feeling that I just came from a beauty salon. However, the color isn't that unique, and you can find lots of these shades, with any brand. Goes on without streaking, stays nicely up till 4-5 day (with base and topcoat). I wouldn't repurchase, as I would go for a change of pale pink shades next time.
Lotions/ Creams -Bulgari - Jasmin Noir body lotion
misscocktail 9/8/2012 2:13:00 AM
For my review of the Jasmin Noir scent, please see the Frangrance chapter. This is about the complementary body lotion: I love how this lotion smells. It's softer and more delicate than the perfume, which is ideal. The sweet almond is more present and the Jasmin is more delicate. It enhances the scent of the perfume, so it's a perfect match. The texture is rich, but it doesn't leave a greasy feeling. The color is creme/pink. The bottle is beautiful, black squeeze bottle with a big golden cap which you need to twist. I will repurchase!
I was drawn attention to the Bulgari fragrances with Mon Jasmin Noir l'eau exquise. I liked that one, but found it more of a summer scent. I was looking for something I could wear all year round. In my favourite Parfumerie (I live in Europe :) ) I asked about the Jasmin Noir line. They put the original Jasmin Noir on my wrist and I was instantely smitten by this beautiful, mature scent. It smelled to me more feminine and more "mature" than the L'eau Exquise. It also reminded me of a better version of Coco Mademoiselle. I bought a bottle of the Eau de Toilette and the body lotion. This is unusual to me, as most of the time I use a sample for a while and see how it pleases/displeases my over a few days use. Now I bought it in a second! What the scent says to me: I smell sweet soft almond, a bit of musk and amber and off course the heart: Jasmin. Due to the other ingredients the Jasmin smells a bit "darker" than the original. This is what I like, Jasmin but with a twist. It makes me feel like a woman, not a girl... As I was looking for a more mature feminine scent. Afterall, I'm 27, married, a mom with a carriere, so it was time to leave the girly things behind and show the world the woman that I am. Jasmin Noir embodies that feeling perfectly! As for staying power: too bad I didn't buy the EDP, as this one doesn't stay all day long, even in combination with the body lotion. Next time I will buy the EDP.
Lovely mascara that curls and lenghtens my short and straight lashes. Worth every penny (that's about the price you pay for it ;) ) Please don't ever curl your lashes after you've applied mascara (as the reviewer below does). This is the biggest mistake you can make. Yes, the result may be spectacular but this way you'll damage your lashes. They can even break when you do this "trick". Big no-no!
I've been using this a few spring/summers in a row. I only use it now and then, 1 week everyday, then I start to skip a couple of days because my tan will go very orangy-dark, which looks unnatural on me. Overall I'm quite pleased with this lotion. It gives you a tan almost instantly. 1 hour after applying I can see already a nice result. It gives a golden brownish tan on pale winter skin. I don't have streaks or dark uneven spots with this lotion. It is indeed as simple as applying a body lotion. You have to wash your hands after use, otherwise you'll end up with orange palms! I like this way of self-tan a lot. I used to mess with real fake tan products, which never gave me the desired result. Always streaky orange color. I will definetely buy again and again. 1 minor point: it's sticky! You have to give it about 15 minutes of "drying" time before putting on clothes. But hey, small discomfort for a nice result.
I love aqua scents (I used to be a big fan of Oceanus from The Body Shop). This one combines aqua with a hint of citrus, which is lovely! It's a summer scent, but I like it so much that I wear it in winter too. It gives me a fresh and clean feeling. It's not overpowering but heavy enough to last a few hours. That my only issue with this scent...it doesn't last all day... a pitty, but I don't mind spraying twice a day. It isn't expensive, so I will defenitely buy this again.
I'cant remember how many bottles I've purchased of Angel. It's my favorite scent for almost 10 years. It was unfamiliar to me, but my husband (at the time he was my boyfriend) bought this as a gift for me. I had to get used to this unusual scent. It didn't stink, but it was unlike the floral scents I was used wearing. I used it anyway, because it was a gift and I was crazy in love with my boyfriend, so nothing he could do was wrong! After a coulple of weeks wearing it I fell in love with it. People on the street asked me what I was wearing, my perfume was amazing! :) I was (and still am) convinced, this is my signature scent. My skin agrees with it 100%. And very important: it stays all day long and you don't need much of it. I love it!
BB Cream -Estee Lauder - Daywear BB Anti-Oxidant Beauty Benefit Creme SPF 35
misscocktail 5/12/2012 2:09:00 AM
I started to use this cream in combination with ANR serum. I like the "eclat" it gives me and doesn't break me out (I have troubled skin with under surface acne). It improves my skin condition and doesn't leave me oily, only a bit dewy, which I don't mind. Although my skintone is fair I use the darkest shade "medium". When I put it on my face turns carrot-orange! After a few minutes this hideous color vanishes to a nice tanned tone. I love it! It doesn't make me look unnatural at all but just fresh and even-toned. It's not that easy to apply though, as the cream is very dry and difficult to smudge out. I little exercise and you'll get the hang of it. Overall I love this cream because it gives me a healthy looking skin and moisturises perfectly. This cream along with the ANR serum gave me a lovely skin, for which I'm not ashamed anymore.
OMG!!! I've been waiting 5 days to write this review, simply because I refused to believe this serum was that good! Last monday a received some samples of it and started to use it twice a day, by recommendation of the lovely sales lady in my local "Parfumerie". I stepped inside and was actually looking for (another) good foundation for my troubled skin. She suggested I'd use the serum and first improve and heal my skin, before purchasing foundation. She said I would be convinced immediately... Yah, I know these sales talks, but anyway, I decided to give it a try just because she told me she used to have troubled skin too before using this serum. After using it 1 night I woke up with a more clear and eventoned skin. My hidden acne (small bumps under my skin surface on the forehead) was less visible. I couldn't believe it. After 2 days I went back to her and showed her the results. She was thrilled to see me again and was also surprised that my skin had improved so fast. I asked for the price and this was a bummer.... soooo expensive! She agreed with me, but said that it was worth it. I started to believe her everytime I looked in the mirror and noticed day by day a healthier and better looking skin. After 5 days of use, day+night, I was completely convinced that this was THE solution for me. Me, who had troubled skin ever since my teens and either bought skincare that was too agressive or too mild. If I think of all the money I've spent on all these wrong skincare products, this serum comes out cheap! So I went back to the lady and purchased it, with 30% discount :). This was my very first encounter with Estée Lauder, which I always considered too expensive. I'm used to buy Yves Rocher/Nivea/Sabon skincare. Now, I know better! Thanks Estée! :)
Lotions/ Creams -Yves Rocher - les huiles essentielles lavender
misscocktail 5/5/2012 8:45:00 AM
This is the body oil from Yves Rocher with essential lavender oil and lavender water. The bottle is transparant and the oil is lavender colour. I like the scent as it is pure lavender and therefore it relaxes me instantly. I use it after a nice warm shower, sometimes taking the time to massage my entire body with it, which is very relaxing and soothing after a long day at work. The oil isn't to thick and greasy, I wouldn't say it's a dry oil, but it's somewhere in between a rich and rapidly absorbing consistence. It's similar to the high quality oils that are used for massage in the better beauty salons. After applying my body feels warm and my skin feels extremely smooth and hydrated. I use it often in combination with the Shea butter soap bar from L'Occitane (milk scented). The scent of the soap combines nicely with the lavender scent of the oil, making it a fresh clean scent. I will repurchase this again for sure.
Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Inecto Pure Coconut Hand and Nailcreme
misscocktail 5/5/2012 7:19:00 AM
My husband gave me the entire productline as an anniversary present (yes, from the shampoo to the body cream and face products, all of it! Yeay!!). I absolutely love this cream, it smell coconutty, duh, and gives good moisture. I love how it's made from natural ingredients and the small price. I love all of their products.
I'm not really a soap bar fan, I prefer shower gels/creams. But I just can't help myself when I see and smell the lovely old fashionned soaps at L'Occitane. It gives me that nostalgic feeling of my grandmothers bathroom, always smelling "soapy" and I loved the way she prepared my baths when I was a little girl. :) This soap is really nice and gives good moisture, but as I always have with soap bars, it leaves my skin a bit parched after drying. I use a good body cream to cover this feeling. I will still continue to use up this bar as I love how it feels on my skin and I'm addicted to the scent!
Lotions/ Creams -L'Occitane - 20% Shea Butter Hand Cream

What can I say: a classic!! I loooove this cream so much that I'm happy to pay the quite expensive 7 Euro (appr. US$11). It smell divine, give a rich moisture and keeps my hands soft and protected. I use it several times a day, usually after washing my hands.
I just bought this one.... So I'm not sure if it's the right moisturizer for me, but I do hope so! I have very oily skin with dry areas on the top of my cheeks (where I use my blush it gets dry with white heads... :s). I hope this moisturizer hydrates the dryer aeras and doesn't oil up the already oily areas on my face... Let's see and I will update after a while of using it. I use aditionally a soft cleanser/face wash from nivea and the Pure and Natural Toner too... I try to cleanse my skin without drying it.
