Skincare - Face -Neutrogena - Microdermabrasion System
miss_beee 2/10/2013 10:41:00 AM
I was thinking about how gross my skin had been getting and decided it was time to spend the money and get a facial, maybe some botox or professional microdermabrasion. My skin was dull and just seemed dirty and these lines were popping up around my eyes at an alarming rate. I walked by this at target and decided to do a quick google search on the reviews ($20 is a lot to spend on something that I'm gonna hate) and it seemed decent enough to give it a try. My pores are pretty big and my skin pretty dry,I don't usually break out but I get these weird almost deposits under my skin that I have to pop and play around with for a few weeks to get it and I've had these huge black heads on my nose since I can remember and they've NEVER gone away. I'm talking about using retin-a, and salicylic acid and scrubs and extractions. They're just black. ALL THE TIME. I also have tiny milia around my eyes which I sometimes pop with a needle (bad i know) so I decided to give this a go and used it for about 6 minutes on the highest speed around my face. I walked out of the bathroom and everyone asked what I had done, my face was glowing and clean and I felt like I lost 10 pounds. The next day I woke up with about 6 or 7 huge zits on my face and some roughness around my eyes, almost like a rug burn because I had over done it and all of a sudden I realized this miracle product wasn't a great miracle after all. I examined my face becauze I am a picker, and realized these pimples were the spots where I've felt something brewing for the last couple months. So of course I popped them and went on with my day. I waited 4 or 5 days and did it again on the low speed for about 3 minutes, next day two more pimples so I popped those...Long story short its been about 2 weeks and now I dont break out after I use it and my skin is awesome. So awesome I feel like I can postpone all the botox and professional microdermabrasion for a bit. Basically if you have under the skin pimples like me I think it just brings them up which is what I believe causes some people to break out. I do it every 3 days in the shower and my blackheads are gone and my skin is glowing...only downside is that I need to invest in a thicker moisturizer because it does dry my skin out

Treatments -OPI - Nail Envy
miss_beee 2/10/2013 10:31:00 AM
I found this at a random nail salon around my house for $7 so I got lucky, and when I realized it was half the price it usually is I went for it. I wasn't expecting much because I have spent much more on nailtique and used all of the essie products and never noticed a difference. I used to be a nail and cuticle biter, to the point where I wouldn't stop until it was bleeding and I stopped a while ago when nursing school forced me to take off my acrylics. At first I thought it was the weekly manis I was getting that allowed my nails to grow beautiful and strong (to the point where people were constantly asking where I got my acrylics done!) and then I lost the bottle of envy. Fast forward three weeks later and the constant hand washing and drying gloves had done their job and my once beautiful nails were now peeling, my cuticles were ragged and I started biting again. I finally got a bottle from amazong (around $10 with tax and shipping) and two weeks later my nails were back. I did get the essie cuticle oil too, and together my nails are almost back to their original glory. If you don't want to drop the $16 or $17 on it, amazon is great to give it a try. I've been converting people left and right on to this.... also, I've noticed my nail polish lasts an extra day or two when I used this, so definite plus!

Concealers -MAC - Pro Longwear concealer
miss_beee 1/25/2013 11:22:00 AM
I never have a full nights sleep and my dad decided to gift me his dark under eye circles so concealer for me has always been a necessity. I have used every concealer out there from the YSL to the bobbie brown to laura mercier and the makeup forever one and none of them compare to this. I had my makeup done at mac and i told the mua it was a day long event and I sweat so I need something super long lasting and he used this on me and I ended up purchasing this for the first time in 2009. I'm on my third bottle just because I have a nw25 thats halfway that I use in the summer. I use it EVERY SINGLE DAY, sometimes twice a day but usually I don't need to reapply. It looks great in photographs, doesn't cake into those lines under your eyes and just wakes me up. It really is the perfect concealer, except for the pump because a full pump is too much and a half pump is sometimes not enough and it kind of wastes product and gets the cap dirty but as far as I remember its about $20 and lasts me a good year using it every day so its not that big of a deal. Definite HG. For some reason every time I've bought it the MUA tries to sell me nw25 which I guess I am but I really don't use anything else from mac but thats way too dark for my under eyes, so go a shade lighter.

Blush -NARS - Desire
miss_beee 1/25/2013 11:15:00 AM
best. blush. ever. I'm a fair olive tone (i'd love to give my mac color but the only thing I use is the concealer and its a nw20) and I have NO color on my face. Days I don't wear blush people won't stop asking if I'm sick or okay. I bought this 2 and a half years ago when I wanted something different than orgasm (too much shimmer for days I want to look natural) I use it pretty much every day and haven't hit the pan yet and I do find that the fluffier the brush the better it looks. I literally just lightly dab the pan and I have enough to cover a cheek. I love that its matte because I can wear it when I have no foundation and it looks completely natural and I can add some highlight to it with out looking like I'm glowing. I've gotten all my girlfriends and my mom using this and everyone has a different skin tone and absolutely loves it. Don't let the bright pink fool you and don't think dollymix from mac (eventhough it looks the same in the pan) is remotely similar. If this blush cost $50 I'd pay for it. One of my ultimate HG finds. +

Mascara -L'Oreal - Double Extend Beauty Tubes
miss_beee 1/25/2013 11:11:00 AM
This is the ONLY mascara I have repurchased more than twice. I used it a couple years ago and swore it made my eyelashes thicker and for whatever reasons I stopped using it and lately my eyelashes seemed thinner and shorter so I went back to it. Its kind of expensive for a drugstore brand ($10 at target $14 at walgreens) but still cheaper than the department store ones. I love love lovvvve the fact that a little water and the mascara just slides off so you're not left with racoon eyes or needed an eye makeup remover and I think its because it slides off and I'm not rubbing my eyes my eyelashes have a chance to grow. It is the only drugstore mascara I've tried that gives me decent length and it lasts allllllll day. you put on the white stuff and wait 30 seconds to let it dry a bit and then go back over it with the black wiggling the black over the white helps cover it better the only drawback is that it doesn't do much for volume for me, but i did go over it when it was kinda still wet with the mousse mascara from maybelline and my lashes looked fab... definite hg

Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - Mixed Chicks - Leave in Conditioner/ Styling Lotion
miss_beee 1/25/2013 11:05:00 AM
I recently decided to leave my hair naturally curly (or big ball of poof) as much as I could because the heat was taking its toll and I really want to grow it out. I bought it on a whim because I figured its $20 and its a leave in and if its horrible then I can just use a little and add mousse or gel or something to it so it won't be a complete waste. My hair is 3a according to most websites but super thick and dry and I have A LOT of it. I put this on after shampooing and deep conditioning like usual on my wet hair and just left it alone. It left my hair softer than any other leave in or oil i've used (and I've used A LOT) my hair was a bit frizzy and the curls weren't that defined but I did use it alone and its been rainy the last couple days so I'm not taking off points for that yet....looks great the day after. I just dampened my hair and added a tiny amount. For the first time in a LONG LONNNNNNNNNNNNNNG time I like touching my hair in its natural state. Maybe once it stops raining it'll tame more frizz and define better? I've read its horrible in humidity so I guess I will wait and see but definitely a great product and its the only product I've ever used alone and had good results...will update in a couple days because I think it has dimethicone or something which is bad for curls...but we shall see +

Primer/ Corrector -Bare Escentuals - Bare Vitamins Skin Rever Upper
miss_beee 1/24/2009 2:31:00 AM
I've been using the 2.3 fl oz one that came in the starter kit for almost 3 months now and its barely half way through. At first I was really whatever about till I real ized it has salcylic acid in it...I'm allergic to benzoyl peroxide so it works really well in keeping my skin blemish free. Using it every day caused my face to be a little tight and peely so I started using it 3 times a week then increased it. Now i use it at night under my moisturizer. I LOVE IT. My skin glows, my pores have shrunk and I don't get nearly as many blemishes as before. I also have a bunch milia under my eyes and on my cheekbones and I've noticed after using this for a few weeks my milia started coming out and now my face is like porcelain. This is probably the best thing Bare Escentuals has...

Mascara -L'Oreal - Bare Naturale Mascara - Blackest Black
miss_beee 6/30/2008 2:48:00 AM
I bought the YSL mascara today...i totally blanked on the name but something about fake lashes, i thought it did a pretty good job till i went to walgreens and saw the display for this mascara...the brush seemed cool, the price seemed reasonable the only thing that irked me a little was the packaging...i came home and tried it on and WOW... i didn't even need to curl my lashes. they were dark and shiny and long and curled, i only had it on for a few hours but i did notice there was no droop. i LOVE this mascara, the brush is amazing and for only $9 i'm returning the ysl first thing in the morning

Polishes -Cover Girl - Boundless Color in Midnight Magic
miss_beee 12/29/2007 2:06:00 AM
The only reason it doesn't get 5 lippies is the brush...it is way too thin and long. Other than that it is such a pretty navy/gunmetal gray almost black with a little shimmer...just like the chanel.I've been using it with poshe top coat and its been a week with no chips and no shrinkage. EVERYONE, guys included have been complimenting on how hot my nails look. Definitely worth it
