Styling Products -Aveda - Pure-Fume Brilliant Emolliant Finishing Gloss
miss_LOVELY 11/8/2005 10:21:00 AM
"Aveda Light Elements Smoothing Fluid is 1/3 of what Brillant Emollient is". That is what an instructor at the Aveda Institute told me. Therefore, those w/ thicker, coarse, just more texture hair in general should opt for the Emollient instead. I have both the Smoothing Fluid and Emollient, and I can say that for my damage and thick hair, the Emollient was definitely better for me.
This has got to be one my favorite eyeshadows. As like other reviewers stated, this would make a great smokey eye!!!
It lengthens, seperates, defines, and thickens.. Cons? I prefer a curved brush.
Conditioner -Grassroots - Ends Well Sleek Smoothing Hair Cream
miss_LOVELY 8/26/2005 3:48:00 AM
I didn't even bought this product, so thank goodness for that. I used the tester, and I'm not sure about the effect it does on my hair since I already had L'Oreal Vive Smooth Intense's Serum, Aveda Smoothing Fluid, and FF glossing cream on my hair already while using this product. What I can tell you is that it is a thick cream that smells terrible. It turns out to be a strong medicine-y smell that's not at all pleasant. I usually don't complain too much about fragrance products because it usually tones down after a little bit, but this one, i must give it credit, it still smelled horrendous after time.
This is by far the worst product I've used in the grassroot line.
Masks -Grassroots - Get Grounded Skin Purifying Clay Mask
miss_LOVELY 8/18/2005 2:03:00 PM
EDiT***I had let some people try out my masks, and unfortunately, some of them didn't get the best outcome. After using it, two of them felt like their face were tighter (dried out) but another one actually liked it because it kept her face non-oily for a long period of time (she gets oily really quick).
I had purchased this mask a few days ago during their buy two, get a free full sized feast your eyes eye balm. I am extremelyyyy happy with the results that I've gotten from this mask so far within two uses. I usually don't get any pimples but when I do, I get it in the weirdest places. Thus, I had a pimple dead center between my lips and nose. I own so many masks, and none of them had worked like this except maybe the aspirin mask.
When I put this mask on, I can feel the tingle on my face (probably from menthol), which I like because it makes me feel like the mask is working. The mask dries up really quick, but I left it on for like 20 minutes before washing it off. (Also, I think this mask exfoliates skin as well since you can feel tiny particles in it.) My skin was instantly smoother and softer. The next morning, my pimple was reduced to half its original size.
The package says that I can use it twice in a week, so after a couple of days, I used it again. Same awesome results and my pimple had shrunk completely! I'm in <3!
Makeup Brushes -Flirt - Feather Dust-her (aka Skunk Brush)
miss_LOVELY 8/18/2005 1:31:00 PM
Definitely a staple for me. <3 <3 <3 it!
Yes, I've jump in the bandwagon and bought Flush. I am NC35 and this is soo pretty on. The intensity can be increased and it's just so natural-looking and beautiful. I won't repurchase this though because it is hugeee!
Lately, I've been writing a few reviews on the beauty lines at Kohl's. Reason being, I think a review on an item as unknown as them would benefit MUA more than another review on MAC fluidliner (no offense, i love it, but many know about it already)
Out of the two makeup cleansers at Kohl's, I much prefer this one than Flirt's See Ya. As like the previous user stated, Bi-Facil users would like this. As for the greasiness, I don't mind that too much because I always have to use a cleanser right after a makeup remover anyones (in case of leaving any film on my face)
Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve - Smith's Strawberry Lip Balm
miss_LOVELY 8/10/2005 4:51:00 PM
This is my HG lipbalm. I've never tried their original version before, but I really love this one. The only cons are that I wished it was in a tube (I hateee using my fingers).
Blush -Flirt - Peek-a-Blush Sheer Powder Cheek Color in Urge
miss_LOVELY 8/10/2005 2:21:00 PM
I've been eyeing on the selection of Flirt powder blushes for the longest, but kept thinking that I already had too many blushes to add more to my collection. Though, the recent sale that Kohl's had on their beauty products made me thought, what the heck. So, that's how I came to buy Urge. It looks scary in the pan, but what I've learn about blushes through the years are that scarier blushes ends up to look gorgeous once applied with the right blush. Therefore, I applied it with my beloved Flirt feather dust-her brush, and I'm amazed. It looked soooo pretty on, and nothing unnatural at all. This would definitely be a staple during the Fall/Winter season for me. I'm not great at describing colors, but it seems to me it has a slight mix of mauve and raspberry tones to it with some gold shimmers. VERY LOVELY, indeed.
It has been compared to NARS Sin, but I've never tried Sin, so I can't comment on that.
Scrubs -Good Skin - Polished Skin Gentle Exfoliator
miss_LOVELY 8/8/2005 1:55:00 PM
I received a small tube in my good skin starter kit. I really love the texture and consistency of the scrub. It's definitely not rough as well so those with sensitive skin won't end up with a red face after using this. I use this once in a while at night and it does give my skin a slight glow the next morning. I wouldn't repurchased though because I like to try out new products and it wasn't a "HG" to me.
Kohl's is having a buy any 2 products in any of their four beauty lines, and get the 3rd item half off right now. Thus, I will try the microdermabrasion scrub that gets raves about here.
Styling Products -L'Oreal - Smooth Intense Anti-Frizz Serum
miss_LOVELY 7/22/2005 12:48:00 PM
I usually never ever buy the same product twice since I usually don't use it up or I always look for better products after finish using it.
This, however, is part of the few exceptions.
I bought 5 bottles of these.
I own tons of Milani eyeshadows, or just eyeshadows in general. Yet, I always come back to this. I seem to love using it to line my entire eyes. It's such a pretty jungle greenish color that sparkles. It definitely enhances my natural eye color (brown).
Definitely one of my favorites!
This gives wonderful coverage. It's one of those foundation that when used that I don't even need to apply concealer... and the reason isn't because I'm lazy, but because this is soo creamy that it covers my dark circles already. The only thing is that I bought a shade a little bit darker than my LLL complexion. I will, however continue my search for my color because I love the feel of this foundation. It has no spf protection, but that's okay because all my face moisturizers have it.
Styling Products -Aveda - Light Elements Smoothing Fluid
miss_LOVELY 7/18/2005 2:44:00 PM
If you want a serum that won't weigh your hair down, this is perfect. I usually never have a problem with needing more volume on my hair, but I still adore this product. It works wonder with a blowdryer for me. It smooths my super-damage hair and makes it incredibly soft. The scent is typical Aveda.
Definitely one of the best serums out there.
