Eyeliner -Revlon - ColorStay Liquid Liner

Similar to Maybelline "Waterproof" Liquid Liner, i.e., I like everything about this product except that it just doesn't stick around. I feel that ColorStay is a misnomer; maybe it should be called Color-Disappear-In-A-Couple-Of-Minutes. It's especially bad if I try to wing it out.

Pros: I have super oily skin on my t-zone, and this does well (as well as any other foundation or powder foundation I've tried) at keeping the shine down. It stays put even when I blot my face with a kleenex or something. It has never irritated my skin or broken me out. And it has a pretty nice, natural finish, not really wet but not dry and cakey either. Cons: Honestly, the coverage is a tad heavy for my taste, although that's a good thing when I occasionally break out. I also don't really care for the jar-- it's tricky to dispense the right amount.

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Brown

I like everything about this eyeliner except that it is NOT waterproof on me. It goes everywhere when my eyes water or after I've been wearing it a while and my lids get oily. Just to make sure I wasn't crazy, I tested it on the back of my hand and let it dry for several minutes. Added a little water. It succumbed like no tomorrow. I like Maybelline's Ultra Liner better.

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Ultra Liner Waterproof

Well, yes, the brush is kind of weird. But this is far and away my *favorite* of the (seven or so) liquid eyeliners I've tried. It pretty much stays where I put it, and that is phenomenal-- given that my eyes are watery and my lids are oily. It has never flaked very much on me. It is definitely about as waterproof as Wet n Wild H20 Proof-- the other durable one I've found-- but Maybelline does not have the extreme glossiness or the tendency to get on your eyelashes. It comes off with oil-free makeup remover. N.B. I also tried the other Maybelline waterproof liquid eyeliner (the one that does not say Ultra Liner) and it sucks. There's nothing waterproof about it.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Waterproof

Kind of depressing that I can only give a four-star rating to the mascara I love most, but it's just not perfect. (I'll probably never find the perfect mascara.) My eyelashes are invisible without mascara. Really. They are so insubstantial. Voluminous is the only mascara I've bought more than once-- in fact, I've bought this stuff over and over for at least five years. It can do a great job of making my lashes not only visible, but really pretty awesome. The caveat is that I HAVE to put two or three coats to get this effect. And the coats have to be spaced out, allowed to dry for a few minutes in between, or they get pretty clumpy. Also, I believe this is the most water-resistant mascara you'll find that will still come off with eye makeup remover. I wish it came in medium brown for blondes and redheads, though.

Styling Products -Clairol - Herbal Essences Set Me Up Mousse
rated 5 of 5

Amazing. Definitely works for my (thick, coarse, curly, difficult) hair. I put about a handful in while my hair is still wet. Though the mousse is only medium hold, it makes the blowdry much more effective; I feel like it'd be a good start to just about any style I might want. It doesn't make my hair feel gross in any way. As noted by others, it doesn't do a whole lot for shine, either, but it doesn't make my hair dull, so I'm okay with that. I can just add a bit of shine spray when I'm done with everything else.
