Polishes -Wet 'n' Wild - Fergie Hollywood Walk of Fame

Complete crap... I had high hopes, but it's impossible to get the stars off the brush (if they come out of the bottle at all), and if they do come off the brush, they clump together and getting them apart requires so much work with the brush that you ruin your manicure... You'll just get giant globs of clear polish, which takes SO LONG to dry. Better to put loose glitter confetti on freshly painted nails with a toothpick or tweezers... And $3.50 for a WnW polish is overpriced, even if it was decent enough.

Lip Gloss -Avon - Supershock Liquid Lip Shine SPF 15
rated 5 of 5

Based on the name "SuperShock", I was expecting a bright, intense colour. Not so- but I love the coverage the way it is. The large packaging seemed a bit childish & cheap when I first picked it up. That said... these are fantastic. I have 4 shades and would LOVE to buy Popsicle but sadly, it's always out of stock. These are moisturizing! And have SPF-15! The Lilac shade is wonderful. I have no complaints at all.

Liquid -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Mineral Foundation
rated 2 of 5

I got this on clearance for $2.50... in the wrong shade. The box is for the lightest shade... but the tube inside was "natural beige". Can't return because it was on clearance. Oh well. Even if I had the right shade, I would never use this. First, the packaging is AWFUL. The tube is only filled halfway so you must squeeze it hard to release the tiniest bit of product. It releases right into a stupid sponge applicator- 2/3 of what dispenses saturates the sponge, wasting it. I tried just wiping it up from the sponge with a different applicator but, the product itself is almost as bad as the packaging. It is thick and matte, which would be nice if it wasn't also heavy, hard to blend, and cakey.

Pressed Powders -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Powder
rated 4 of 5
mirahvk 1/21/2012 11:03:00 PM

4/5 is a generous rating- it only deserves that 4th star because of the True Match shade range. The lightest fits my pale complexion like no other drugstore brand. It's an okay powder with light-medium coverage when used to set in its matching True Match concealer (especially on my undereye circles). I would buy again only because of the shade range.

Concealers -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Concealer
rated 4 of 5

Blends well. Provides light coverage which I like, although I would never suggest it to anyone wanting full coverage. Lightened undereye circles maybe 70%. Good for the occasional blemish/spot coverage, but looks cakey and gross on larger areas (I don't need it on large areas anyway). I despise the packaging. It comes in a tube similar to lip gloss, with a completely useless synthetic hair brush with it that only blots jumbo drops onto your skin. The brush brings out WAY too much of the watery product- I keep accidentally getting way too much and having to waste it by blotting it off with a tissue. I was happy that it is small and compact, but I have to carry around a separate applicator with it. It sets in well with the matching True Match powder. I'd have given it a 3/5, but you pale girls know how hard it is to find a shade that matches you well enough - this True Match line deserves a full star just for that.

Polishes -Wet 'n' Wild - Wild Shine Nail Color - Night Prowl
rated 4 of 5
mirahvk 12/24/2011 3:45:00 AM

This polish is lovely! Like the reviewer below me, I overlooked it for the longest time because I thought that it was a clear top coat with purple glitter. Nope - it's black with super subtle, super tiny purple glitter. The thin formula make the first two layers a bit streaky but by the third coat it's not so noticeable. Although it's great on its own- to add strength and more glitter, I add a layer of Sally Hansen's Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in 'Pink-y Ring' (clear with pinkish-purple glitter that matches Night Prowl) on top.

Lip Gloss -Avon - Lip Radiance
rated 3 of 5
mirahvk 12/19/2011 11:46:00 PM

I bought this recently online in Adoring Coral- on clearance for $1.99 (free shipping is the best!). It's okay but not nearly as pigmented as I had hoped... it basically looks like your standard clear sparkly gloss- on me, at least. I can imagine it'd look good on someone with deep brown skin, maybe. It lasts okay without drinking and other contact. I'd like to try the pink shade that everyone mentions in the comments below - if I catch it on sale again. One big plus is the reusable tube... The top screws right off and it'd be super easy to wash with a q-tip and refill! Other than the price my curiosity for that shade, I don't see a point to buy it again.

Polishes -Wet 'n' Wild - Nail Color in Sparked / # 435F
rated 5 of 5
mirahvk 12/19/2011 4:19:00 AM

I never, ever ever ever, expected to be so in love with a pink glitter polish. It makes me feel like a princess! I never expected to say that, either, haha. It is dense - two coats and my nails are 100% packed with glitter. I've been wearing this for weeks - every time I decide to change it up, I come right back to it. Which is a hassle... considering it is soooo difficult to remove (the glitter just tears up whatever you use to apply). But hey, it doesn't chip either! Seriously. I had this on for an entire 7 days without a top coat and it only chipped slightly on one nail... because I was picking at it. I'm honestly surprised this isn't more popular, and I hope they use the same formula with blue glitter or black glitter. I'd buy it in a heart beat. I only keep extra bottles of TWO polishes in stock in case of discontinuation and/or nuclear warfare - this and another Wet N Wild, the famous Black Creme.

Lip Gloss -Avon - Glazewear - ALL SHADES
rated 4 of 5
mirahvk 12/19/2011 4:03:00 AM

I have Glazewear Dazzle in Pink Radiance G042. The shade is subtle - I'd like to try it in a shade less similar to my actual lips, next time I see it on sale. I don't know if I'd pay full price for it - maybe because I'm just super cheap, lol - but because it has nice lasting power and doesn't feather and migrate much like so many glosses do on my lips, and it requires only a quick reapplication every few hours, I like it well enough to wear somewhat often.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Color Quick Chrome Pens
rated 3 of 5
mirahvk 12/17/2011 5:24:00 PM

It's not the same formula as a regular bottle polish. It spreads thin but evenly. It feels like a Sharpie (you know those Metallic Sharpies?) and smudges like one for the first few hours- then after, starts chipping for just about no reason. With a top coat, it lasts of course, but that defeats the purpose of "color quick". The only reason I'm giving this a generous 3 of 5 instead of a 2 is because it is easy to apply and nice enough if you need to add a quick manicure to your morning routine - I consider it a 'temporary' polish, or for touch-ups. It takes hardly more than 30 seconds to apply and removal takes just as long, so it's fine for a one-day manicure. The brush is quite large so you can not get the edges of your nails quite as precisely as with a brush but it looks nice enough (I imagine the more rounded your nail bed shape, the harder it is to use). I have these in Purple Chrome and Turquoise Chrome, and since they are only $1 at Grocery Outlet, I'll pick up another in Red Chrome. I would never pay the full $8 for them, especially considering that they have far less product than an average bottle. Not that I've ever finished an entire bottle of polish, but these pens pull 0.13 fl oz... compared to the 0.43 of a Wet N Wild 'Wild Shine' bottle. Edit --- Just bought Red Chrome ($1 at Grocery Outlet). There isn't the slightest hint of red. It is pure metallic pink. Sigh.

Treatments -Sally Hansen - Cuticle Massage Cream with Apricot Extract
rated 3 of 5

It smells nice, but is not very moisturizing. I suppose it could be smoothing for people who don't have dryness to begin with, but I was not satisfied.

Liquid -Maybelline - Super Stay Makeup
rated 3 of 5
mirahvk 12/2/2011 11:30:00 AM

I have sensitive skin- and this made me break-out. It seems to be a well-liked product and I do see why- it does last long, but I guess my pores just suck! I also don't like the packaging but it's a common problem - I don't like to waste product and having to dig my fingers in there and tap it like a Tabasco bottle is not fun.

Lipstick -New York Color - Ultra Moist Lip Wear
rated 4 of 5
mirahvk 12/2/2011 11:22:00 AM

I use Retro Red with a lip brush- I'm not sure why I just cannot apply NYC Ultra Moist properly without one. It works great as a base with another gloss or colour over it- or even lightly brushed on with just Chapstick over it. Apply more than a thin coat and it'll feather and bleed all over the place- I also wouldn't wear Ultra Moist in the summer heat. Great steal for a dollar.

Lipstick -New York Color - Ultra Last Lip Wear 408B Sherry Sparkle
rated 4 of 5
mirahvk 12/2/2011 11:13:00 AM

I looove Sherry Sparkle! It's a great everyday wear and just a few shades darker than my lips. It looks great day or night. It doesn't last as long as I'd like since I do drink water just about constantly, but it's easy to quickly reapply and hey, it was cheap. So good that I'll deal with the not-so-great packaging.

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Pencil in 659 Turquoise
rated 4 of 5
mirahvk 12/2/2011 10:57:00 AM

I loooove 659C! The kohl kajal eyeliner is just the best. It's just the right firmness and the pigmentation is the most lovely shade. It also stays for most of the day. I'd say the only downfall is the infamous Wet N Wild eyeliner lid... I don't think I've ever had one of their eyeliners for more a few weeks before the lid cracks. Still, Scotch tape will fix it.
