Polishes -Unlisted Brand - PIXEL - Till I'm Blue Over You
minimad 7/13/2012 6:54:00 PM
This polish is an absolute shame. In the bottle it's a vibrant disco blue.... but, four coats and it's so sheer I can see the pink of my nail bed. I topped it with two coats of a blue glitter by Sally Girl. My hubby loves the look and I do too. But I will replace PIXEL with something opaque.
Your Web or Mine? is a classic pink...nice enough but not exceptional. Compared to Just Spotted the Lizard (also in OPI's Spiderman collection) Your Web or Mine? is dull and out of place. Pink and Spiderman just don't go together.
Just Spotted the Lizard is intriguing and beautiful. In direct sunlight it reads pure gold, but absent of light, it reads a dark candy green.
This moisturizer is cheap, you get a great quantity and the dispenser pump is terrific. However, this has made my skin break out. We're talking 9th grade zits. This has been my only change in skincare, so I know it's attributable to this product. I don't mind the sparkles b/c it gives me a nice subtle glow. But the resurgence in acne is awful. Will not repurchase and definitely do not recommend!
This LE e/s palette consists of three highly pigmented shades. What I look for in either HE or LE products is uniqueness. If a HE or LE product is something super dupable...then what's the point? The highlight shade is an off white that pulls gray. This color doesn't really work with my skin tone (fair w/yellow undertones), but I can absolutely see it working for someone with fair/cool skin or someone with a darker skintone (such as the MILANI model in this ad campaign). The lid shade is a taupe mauve that reflects best in sunlight as you can see gold undertones. My favorite of the trio is the crease shade...black with finely milled multi color sparkles. I love LOVE love the crease shade. I plan to use the crease shade with other e/s palettes not just the True Romance trio. Overall this is a lovely palette. I think I might pick up two more palettes (one for a backup and one for a gift). Since this trio is only available for April 2012, I recommend buying multiples if it is a palette you enjoy.
Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Atelier Cologne - Orange Sanguine

Orange Sanguine is exactly as you would imagine...orange with a deep anchor of sandalwood. Usually I'm against smelling like fruit or food, but this citrus scent has a plethora of undertones that keep it from being food-ish. I would have given 5 lippies and marked for repurchase except that wear time is short. You splash Orange Sanguine on and it quickly disappears. I would absolutely love to find a dupe that has staying power.
Primer/ Corrector -Urban Decay - All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray
minimad 4/21/2012 8:29:00 AM
I live in a very humid climate and when it's summertime and everything is in full steam bath mode it's really hard to get my makeup to stay in place and continue to look freshly applied. UD's All Nighter is definitely helpful. I've tried different methods of applying it, but what seems to work best for me is post primer, after all creams have been applied and then a final spritz after all powders have been set. I've never used a setting spray prior to UD and so I plan to try some d/s versions before I repurchase All Nighter (although I did mark this for repurchase b/c it does work for me)..
Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - Silent Treatment
minimad 4/18/2012 7:11:00 PM
Silent Treatment is a palette that I'm likely to repurchase before I hit pan (after Jordana discontinued Lovely I got nervous and don't want to lose another favorite). Each shadow is creamy and easy to apply. The eyelid shade is a gorgeous taupe that reads silver/purple on my lids. I also really enjoy the highlight color which is a soft pink/peach. The crease shade is too dark for the full crease, so I use it in the corner of my eye and then buff it out into the crease for a light shadow. Silent Treatment is by far my favorite WNW palette.
Lips -Tarte - Lipsurgence Natural Lip Tint in Peaceful
minimad 4/18/2012 6:57:00 PM
This terrific lip gel is a sheer nude that works well with dramatic eyes. I love how the peppermint cools my lips, but doesn't smell candy-ish. Peaceful also makes my lips feel super smooth without being slick. My only dislike is the product packaging...I've already nicked the lipstick while uncapping/recapping it. All in all, a great treat from Tarte.
Moisturizers -Vichy - LiftActiv with Rhamnose 5% Night
minimad 4/16/2012 7:56:00 PM
I'm delighted with the scent and texture of this night moisturizer. The cream is very thick and like all Vichy products the fragrance is wonderful. I took one lippie b/c the product is supposed to minimize wrinkles (nope). I also took a lippie b/c the cream does have a burning sensation (some nights more intense than others).
This is a very delicious smelling moisturizer. I'm sad that I've finished my bottle so soon. I took one lippie off b/c if I had to rate Aqualia Thermal against other moisturizers it would only win b/c of its fragrance. A nice moisturizer but not special enough to cost $30 for 1.69 fl oz.
The fragrance and texture of Rose Love Balm are the reasons I won't repurchase. First, the heavy floral odor...I think it's so strong that either you'll love it or despise it. Second, the waxy nature of the balm makes it incredibly difficult to get a meaningful amount out of the tin. Pressing very hard with my finger does not work...perhaps a small plastic scoop of some sort would work better. I think it does moisturize the skin surface to a degree, but add in the smell and the texture and I feel it's not worth a repeat...there are simply other, better moisturizers on the market.
I use this balm nightly and wake up with smoothe lips. It has a slightly gritty texture when first applied, but after a minute my lips melt the balm and it smoothes out. This balm makes me feel luxurious. I will absolutely repurchase when needed.
Lip Treatments -Fresh - Sugar Rose Lip Treatment SPF 15
minimad 4/16/2012 9:06:00 AM
I absolutely love Sugar Rose. It makes my lips feel so moisturized and plump. It isn't slick or greasy, but creates an incredible smoothness to my lips. I haven't needed to exfoliate my lips in quite a while. This appears to be red, but actually the product is so sheer, I can't necessarily see it, but I can feel it. Hands down, the best lip treatment packaging ever...you simply unscrew the cap to access the product.
Lip Liners -Jordana - Easyliner for Lips in Baby Berry
minimad 4/16/2012 8:57:00 AM
The proof that dirt cheap can be HG! I love my Jordana lip liner in Baby Berry. I use it not just as a liner, but to entirely fill in my lips. I've topped it with Fresh lip treatment in Sugar Rose (sheer red), Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie and NYC in Park Avenue Pink. The combination of any of these products with Baby Berry makes my lips look full, defined and juicy. I can't believe such a great product exists for under $2.
