Funny thing is, I have pretty oily skin, also very sensitive-although I love to throw a bunch of acids on it, for some reason. (Too tempting to stave off wrinkles, I guess). This is great for using before putting on makeup for a night out. Prepares the skin to accept foundations very evenly, in my opinion.

This is actually for the 3-step system but it wouldn't let me post! I'm 37 and used the system years ago when I had cystic acne Helped allot! I had remembered it gave me such a "glow" I thought they changed the formula because it seemed to stop working for me after a couple of years Recently I decided to try it again not for acne (older now) but because my skin looks "blah" no pretty glow sooo I think the answer is to follow the directions! In my older years I'm more careful and actually put a dime sized ammount when they say to and to let it dry completely between steps also I went on the Rodan & Fields site just curious to look at their "upscale" version and guess what They offer "tips" being: a little goes along way and let skin dry between steps and they reccommend gradually increasing usage in a usage schedule after a quiz on what kind of skin you have Something like use once every other day at first then gradually increase to twice a day I HOPE this helps some teen or anyone that has acne and if you are a teen it tends to improve greatly w/age then you start fighting wrinkles (which glycolic acid in the toner is good for!) Good luck (sorry for puncuation I don't have a period or comma button!

To be honest, I had to give this a three lippie. I wanted it to work, but I don't really think it's that remarkable. Kind of like any drugstore brand. Because of the differences of opinion here I wonder if the quality depends on how old the tube is. I got a sample, maybe if it was newer it would have lived up to what I wanted. Oh well.

All over my suitcase. Took it on a trip. It's gone now, but I don't really care because it didn't do much of anything to my hair.

This coworker of mine was calling me Angelina, and he had no idea I used this. Granted, I do have full lips, but this just gives them extra omph. I bought it because it was given the seal of approval by Good Housekeeping, which means they deem it effective. Don't waste you money on the xl though. Doesn't work as well, I think. Good luck!

Hair Styling Tools -Unlisted Brand - Maxiglide iron

This is the best flat iron. I like the rounded sides, if you like a little flip or curl it's easy to do. That said, for getting extra volume and and body you won't find that with a flat iron unless you dump your head over and spray the roots or set in velcro rollers and spray, let dry, remove rollers and rake fingers through hair. Of course the long way is to blowdry section by section with a concentrator nozzle, and a big round brush. One more thing, I'm hesitant to use the steam feature because I never thought it was good to iron your hair untill it's completely dry..or sizzle. Also use a spray protector on hair, then brush through, let dry completely. It's important to brush hair throughly before you start because the little "teeth" don't really do it for you. But it's still the best.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Volume Shocking Mascara [DISCONTINUED]

This is totally different than any other mascaras I've tried and you kind of have to "unlearn" how you normally put on mascara. The method I've found that works for me (after lots of experimentation): first curl, then 3 swipes of primer on each eye, then two (at most) of color. Lastly while wet, gently wiggle your index finger along underside base of lashes to seperate any "spikes" that may have formed. If you already have pretty good lashes, this isn't for you, but if you're like me with barely there lashes it works very well. I would say the worst thing is if you apply even a little too much they go spikey. It would also be fun to experiment with the primer (step 1) with your favorite mascara. I haven't done that yet but it would be interesting to see. Good luck.

Liquid -Cover Girl - TruBlend

lets your own skin shine through, I have pink skin sometimes and the Honey shade counteracts the redness but doesn't look fake. It's like looking at my skin through a veil of warmth. Tones down the red well.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Benetint
rated 5 of 5
mindyair1 9/16/2005 11:34:00 PM

This is how I've found success with Benetint on my lips. First a little moisture, like Smiths Rosebud Salve, then line lips w/a nude pencil, then put a few drops on your lips, followed by some frosty white eyeshadow, or shimmer product in the center of you lower lip. My hairstylist complimented me on it. It is packaged like nail polish, very easy to spill, though.

Fragrances -J. Lo - Glow
rated 5 of 5
mindyair1 9/16/2005 11:30:00 PM

I think what turns people off is the fact it is a Jlo product. I have gotten tons of compliments at work (on an airplane) and when they ask what it is I have to giggle and say, "It's J-Hoe". In truth I admire her as a successful business woman, although she seems a little too "diva'd out". You could almost imagine her saying "Enough about me, what do YOU think of ME?"

Powder -MAC - Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation
rated 2 of 5
mindyair1 9/16/2005 11:26:00 PM

I gave this two stars because maybe it would work well on another type of skin. I have a pore and wrinkle issue, and I think it settles into them and makes them more noticable.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara
rated 4 of 5
mindyair1 9/16/2005 11:24:00 PM

I like the intesity of the black pigment, it really makes your eyecolor pop. Although, I don't think it does a remarkable job on lengthening or volume. I put a few false eyelashes (short, black, comes in little "sprigs", not the full lash, Ardell is o.k.) on my outer lashes, then coat w/Great Lash. Pretty hot.
