Liquid -Maybelline - Fit Me Foundation

this is in no way a good quality product. it's actually pretty horrible. i'm gonna start with my pros since there are multiple cons, & that is that the color (i'm a 115) fits me perfectly. it's also super inexpensive. now for the cons... this foundation is NOT good for your skin. i bought it for myself & tested it on my sister, who has a different skin type than i do. now keep in mind, i'll only wear foundation maybe once a week, if that. & if i do wear it, my skin has to be clear. the rest of it i go bare, since my complexion is relatively clear & quite healthy. for me this caused me to get more blackheads & whiteheads. it especially clogged my skin around the hollow of my cheek & my chin. the day after wear i'll have a huge pimple on the side of my face. that sucks for someone who prefers to avoid wearing makeup, since for a good week you have to go with a big red bump in the middle of your face. it also REALLY emphasizes my dryness, creating dry patches on my forehead & nose. on my sister, who has normal to oily skin, this caused a micro breakout almost instantly after she removed it. she had tiny zits all over her cheeks, cheek bones, & forehead. this is also a really heavy product. i can feel it on my face, which is so uncomfortable since i don't like the 'feeling' of wearing makeup. better quality stuff doesn't have that type of effect on me. & it's so hard to get off, since from the feel of it i assume it's packed with oil. i pour a bit of this to my hand before applying it on my face, & it's SO hard to get off. i have to sit there for a good while & soap my hands twice before it even starts coming off. all in all, this is obviously not a good product to put on your skin. if it doesn't affect you, that's fine, but i know that i'm not doing my complexion any favors by using this foundation, & i'm simply NOT okay with that. i would much rather spend some more money on something than get something for cheap that compromises the health of my skin.

Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation
milkypaw 1/18/2012 7:21:00 PM
i was attracted to this foundation because it was oil-free & because it has a huge range of colors. after consulting with a sephora 'artist', i bought this foundation in 117. well, that was a mistake because the color was totally off. it made my face orange. i do, however, think that this foundation is great. the texture is lovely, it didn't feel heavy on my face, & it didn't damage my skin. i didn't like that this foundation seemed to emphasize the dryness on my forehead. it's also very pricey, at $40 a bottle. just because i had a bad experience with the color, i don't think i'd be willing to risk wasting my money again.

Moisturizers -Burt's Bees - sensitive daily moisturizing cream
milkypaw 1/18/2012 7:05:00 PM
i bought this moisturizer a few weeks ago after debating on 'hope in a jar' for quite a while. i'd been needing a good moisturizer for a while & when i saw this, made with 90% natural ingredients, & after i read great reviews on the burt's bees site, i bought it. the packaging is simple but effective. it consists of a simple, easy to control pump. absolutely no mess. as far as the product goes, i really love this moisturizer. the smell is so pleasant & gentle. the texture is creamy but not thick, & it goes on my skin smoothly. i've noticed that during these past few weeks of usage, any pimple that i've gotten seems to fade away much faster than before (i'm a very slow healer). i noticed a difference with one pimple that faded away almost completely in 3 days, as opposed to my usual week +. for that, i have to say that this moisturizer was worth spending $17 on. it also helps calm my constant rosiness. my only downside is that i don't feel it moisturizes my dry skin enough. although it's very hydrating, around 15 minutes after application i begin to feel some tightness on the driest part of my face (forehead). all in all, i'd definitely recommend this product, especially because it's so light & airy that i think it'd be amazing on most skin types. burt's bees is for me a brand that i'll continue to go to for my skin care.

Mascara -Too Faced - Lash Injection

WASTE OF MONEY! i'm so pissed i spent even a penny on this! the worst part is that mascara is pretty much the only thing i use on an almost daily basis & now i'm stuck using this crap. it smells AWFUL. i feel like i shouldn't be scared that i'm damaging my eyelashes or my eyes when using such an expensive product. this literally smells SO MUCH like chemicals... scary chemicals. the first time i used it my eyes teared up from the scent of it. i was hoping that this mascara would give me doll-like dramatic lashes, since the name is 'lash injection' & it claims to make your lashes 'long' & 'gorgeous', but i was disappointed. the brush that comes in this tube is very bulky & uncomfortable to use, which adds nothing especially when the product is dry & sticky, & it makes my eyelashes clumpy & very cakey. no curl, just product on top of more product. i'm sorry to say that all this mascara does for me is make my lashes clumpy, my eyes burn, & my pocket cry. i'll stick to drugstore mascaras. i'm not willing to ever spend more than i have to on something that just gives me headaches.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara

This is the most overrated piece of poop mascara on the market. It's just awful. Don't believe the hype for a second. It says on the packaging that it is the #1 recommended mascara by make up artists, but there's obviously a reason why everyone hates it. Don't waste your money. Put in a little more & buy yourself a good quality drugstore mascara.

Mascara -Rimmel - Lash Maxxx
milkypaw 5/29/2011 3:44:00 PM
this mascara is crap. It's way too thick & clumpy. The brush sucks. I thought that because it was a comb it would help in separating my lashes, but it didn't. The mascara was so thick & the brush so oddly shaped with such small bristles that it made it really hard to get excess mascara off. It's very flaky. Not a good product at all.

Lotions/ Creams -Queen Helene - Cocoa Butter Hand and Body Lotion
milkypaw 5/29/2011 3:37:00 PM
this lotion is okay. It hydrates my dry skin pretty well & leaves it soft & shiny. It's lightweight, doesn't feel heavy. It's pretty runny, so be careful not to spill it. It is a little inconvenient that you have to sit there rubbing it on yourself for a while to get it to absorb, but for $2, I can cope.dont put this on your face. I havent , but it's cocoa butter and it WILL clog your pores. The bottle is huge & ugly. It smells strong.

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Stiletto
milkypaw 5/29/2011 3:27:00 PM
I love this mascara. It does a great job at enlongating & separating the eyelashes, giving the more natural yet dramatically long look that I'm looking for. I have long eyelashes with a little bit of curl & this mascara brings out their natural beauty. The product is a bit more watery than others that I've used, which I like. Now, in no way, shape or form does it make my eyelashes look glossy & 'stiletto' like. But as a product, I love it. Way better than any other mascara I've ever used before.

Treatments -Aussie - 3 Minute Miracle
milkypaw 5/29/2011 3:10:00 PM
this product isn't anything exceptional at all. Not a miracle whatsoever. It is indeed very easy on the pocket, but using it simply proved to me that putting in a little bit more money for ie a pantene deep conditioner is worth it. It's not awful, don't get me wrong, but after using it my hair feels like I only conditioned with regular conditioner. I do love the packaging. I hate the packaging of the other deep conditioners I've used because it's usually tubs & the product is a mess to get out, but this one is a little bottle that you squeeze the conditioner out of. Super simple. I also wish it smelled a little better. In conc., not the best & not the worst.
