Self Tanners -Neutrogena - Build A Tan

I was pretty skeptical about this product as with any self tanner since my first time playing with the Banana Boat Self Tanner (I was a brown streaked zebra). But I did get good results. The first time I used it, I applied it as any other lotion and slathered it on. Obviously I got streaks. But the second time I used it, I exfoliated with a homemade sugar-aloe-and-lotion scrub in the shower and let my skin dry. Afterward I applied equal amounts of the self-tanner and rubbed it into my skin until I felt no more lotion and only felt skin (your hands skid across your skin). Those results went very well, I got a good subtle color that was even and streak free. My only complaint is that it does look a tad orange, but not a whole lot. Another complaint would be that when the color fades, you can tell it fades. You see little cracks in your skin where the dead skin fell off revealing your real skin color. You can't tell by much, but if you look carefully, you can. Overall good self tanner if you know how to apply. Color is alright but not excellent.

Pressed Powders -Cover Girl - Fresh Look Pressed Powder ] [DISCONTINUED]

a pretty good pressed powder. only problem i found with it is that when i have a blemish and cover it with jane stay calm foundation, although i set the foundation with loose powder, sometimes with touchups during the day it smears the foundation! and no i don't push hard when i apply the powder. just a couple of pats is all. overall it provides great coverage, great blue color, and doesnt break me out!

my mom always has stashes of these from the freebie bags and i love them! they go on well, stay put, and look great! to those who have problem with clumping, what you do is moisten your eyelashes with water first, not drippy wet, but wet. then apply the mascara by carefully "combing" through them. this helps reduce clumps for me a lot. it goes on thin at first, but do the same method of combing over them repeatedly to desired thickness.

CD/Books/Movies -Bobbi Brown - Book - Bobbi Brown Beauty: The Ultimate Beauty Resource

i am very suprised with a lot of bad comments posted here on MUA. my sister recommended this book to me, and i think it's great. it emphasizes on natural beauty and provides advice on how to apply and purchase makeup. a lot of you said that the book had limited information, but it's only because she encourages natural looking, polished makeup. she provides great recommendations on colors, but that doesn't mean you have to abide by them. those who hate the book, loosen up. no one is forcing you to do anything. find your own style, that's what it's all about. overall, great book.

i just did my first application last night, and for the most part it turned out great! only problems i had was a little streaking on the knees and very few hardly noticeable spots. the color looks very real, and i love how i can control how deep my tan is!

this gloss looked to orangey in the tube, but looked ok when on my lips. not as sticky as other glosses, and stayed put a lot longer.

i used this gloss in strawberry swirl and the color goes great on my lips. adds great shine and sparkle. however, the sticky consistency could be improved. overall good lip gloss.

i bought this foundation because of the great mua reviews and to replace my old foundation. it works great! covers really well, and stays put. the color buffy matches my light asian skin perfectly. didn't work well on my dry patches however, but moisterizer seems to do the trick. great price, will definitely buy again!

Loose Powders -Cover Girl - loose powder
rated 3 of 5
milkbubble 4/3/2004 11:16:00 PM

compared to many reviews, this powder didn't make me breakout too much, and i do have acne prone skin. it goes on pretty well, good for touch ups during the day. but the puff isn't too useful, it doesn't distribute the powder evenly. the fragrant smell is also very unpleasant.

this color is a great neutral lipstick. goes on very well, doesn't dry out easily, but a little deeper red shade than i would like for my pale complexion. but overall great lipstick! would highly recommend!

Hair Color -L'Oreal - Feria Haircolor
rated 2 of 5

i have naturally black hair (asian), but have had highlights done professionally in the past. i opted for feria for natural looking highlights, but it didn't give me much color. hardly noticed a difference. i'm not sure what i did wrong, whether i didnt use enough color for my hair, or what, but i did not achieve noticeable results.

Liquid -Maybelline - Wonder Finish
rated 3 of 5

this foundation went on well, but throughout the day, it seemed to fade and look a little unnatural. i have combination skin with a t-zone area, and in that zone, it tends to get a lil bit oily as the day goes by. touching up with loose powder helps, but all in all an ok foundation. probably will not purchase again.
