Liquid -Paula's Choice - Best Face Forward Foundation SPF 25

I really like this foundation, I have Best Champaign Beige and I'm an NC 25 MAC or 1.5 in MAC's Matchmaster. I've had it for a while so I've had some time to go between this and a bunch of other foundations and I've come to the conclusion that this is a winner in my books! Pros - wonderful colour match for me, and since it is light coverage it can work for more shades than otherwise - looks very natural on me - the only spf you need if you apply it with that in mind, you'll need a fair amount if it's your only spf - price! $15 is quite affordable compared to a lot of other foundations Cons - Need to shake it up before you use it to incorporate the product (not a big deal) - Light coverage (may not be a bad thing but a foundation like Matchmaster from MAC covers more), if you're really oily you may need to blot or this might easily come off on you late in the day - not a whole lot of colour options but since it's light coverage it can fit more tones - Need to order online If you want to even out your complexion and don't have too many major flaws to cover (you'll need concealer for bigger flaws) I would recommend checking this out. She has samples so try a few of those first. She also has phenomenal customer service and that in itself keeps me going back.
I've had this mascara a while and I tend to interchange between a few. Now I'm usually going for this or Full n Soft and more often than not I grab this. There is NO clumping with this and it creates looooong lashes effortlessly. Leaves lashes soft and not flaky. I love how separated it leaves my lashes too. This washes off very easily for me (I use Olay Sensitive Skin Foaming Face Wash, my HG gentle/effective cleanser) I like this better than Lash Stiletto and I quite liked that one. I will definitely buy this again, just love it! UPDATE: Fri Nov 11: I've had it for 4 months and it's starting to dry up, time to get a new one. So far this is my favourite mascara, I like it better than Full n Soft (thought that one is still good, just a different type of mascara)
Cleansers -Olay - Sensitive Skin Foaming Face Wash

I absolutely love this face wash. I have tried many cleansers and this is my favourite so far. It completely removes my eye makeup (I usually wear non waterproof mascara and line my eyes with eye shadow) while being really gentle on my eyes and my face. If my oily skin gets even a little too dried out by a cleanser than it starts producing more oil to make up for the temporary dryness. Since it's so effective and yet so gentle my acne, and general condition of my face, has improved. I like this product so much I don't think I will bother to stray to another cleanser for a very very long time.
I second everything the reviewer before me has mentioned. This is an excellent smooth creamy lip balm. I also got it as a sample at Sephora so I don't know much about the cost. It isn't waxy like Chapstick balms can be. My lips don't get all chapped when I stop using it either, which is great!
Misc Beauty Tools -Sephora - Precision Pore Cleansing Pad

EDIT: OCT 16th, 2011 I had originally placed this review somewhere else but it was moved to this section. I still use it all the time and switch it up with my Clairsonic. This is easier to clean than the Clairsonic but after using both regularly for quite some time I think that the Clairsonic is a little more thourough than this. That being said I think that, if you work diligently and GENTLY a face cloth will give you similar results. This face pad is usually made from silicone and looks something like the picture. You can get it from ebay, or other various beauty sites, just use the words "face pad blackhead remover brush" those various combos will get you a lot of similar products. The one I got is like the one pictured in the photo. It was ridiculously cheap and...i LIKE IT BETTER THAN MY CLAIRSONIC!!! Really! I find it gentler, easier to clean, and leaves my face cleaner than the Clairsonic. It is so cheap I figured if I don't like it I'm only out $1.15 CAN (yes that's how much it cost me with shipping). I use it with my cleanser and just scrub away, of course even though I find it gentler than the Clairsonic don't go too crazy with the scrubbing. I use it twice a day. I'm going to send one to my mother in law and see how she likes it. These would make great gifts too I think. The one I have is made of silicone but it might say they are made of plastic or resin also.
After much research, and much debating, I got myself this BB cream. I've had it for a week now and so far I like it very much :) I have acne prone skin with some acne right now and I'm always breaking out. What got me excited was the possibility of having a foundation type product that would at least not make my acne any worse. And it hasn't so far. If it were I probably would have gotten a reaction by now but so far so good. It's supposed to help heal acne, I'm not too sure about that but NOT causing acne is good enough for me! It does have tea tree oil in it (you can smell it for a little bit but quickly dissipates) which is supposed to be good for acne. It feels thick going on, and that scared me at first, but once you blend it over your face, I use my fingers, I find it feels quite light and very natural looking. This is the most natural looking coverage I have gotten from any product! It has a decent amount of coverage too. I use less of this than I would foundation, or even tinted moisturiser since I find it very concentrated, and I think applying too much wouldn't be a good idea. On me the finish isn't quite matte but matte enough, super matte also doesn't look very natural anyway. It hold up pretty well throughout the day but I haven't worn it for longer than 8 hours, but it isn't quite summer here yet and I haven't really been sweating in it much. I do have fairly oily skin for reference. I am NC25 in MAC and this matches me great, goes on a little light but after about 15 minutes it looks perfect. I have heard that this self adjusts for people over time so maybe it has some tone adjusting properties? I am very pleased with this and I would totally buy it again. I like that I don't need to use much product (so the tube last longer) and it has spf in it too!
For reference I have oily acne prone skin and live in a cold and hot climate (-15C in winter and 35C in summer) I love this cleanser, it is one of the few products I buy when I run out. I found out about it on paula's beautypedia reviews and also found the reviews on here favourable. It is great at removing makeup and the little scrubbers are perfect! I find they help with getting off the makeup but they do not hurt your skin the way a lot of exfoliants can if you use them everyday. It is hard to find a good cleanser that removes your makeup (and I mean foundation, concealer, mascara etc) and doesn't over strip your skin! Of course it's even better if you use it with a clean face cloth (just don't scrub too hard, be gentle!) I'm so glad I found this product and I will keep buying it.
Gels/Soaps -Korres - Kings & Queens Shower Gel - Chinese Princess Jasmine

The scent of this is just intoxicating! I love it! Wish they made a perfume of it. I was going to originally get myself a scrub but one sniff of this and I was sold! I'm not one to buy body washes for their scents either. It feels great on my skin also, not stripping at all. Gotta get myself more and try other scents from this line :)
I love this. I use it for tight lining (line your actual lash line, between the lashes, not on the inside like water lining and not on the outside). You can dot it in between lashes with the tip when you want to be very precise or you can use the side for more surface area. It sounds time consuming but this eye liner is so nice and easy to use I do it in no time. I just curl my lashes first so that they're a bit out of the way. This stays on really well and I have very oily eyelids. Washes off very easily too, many other eye liners are difficult to wash off, leaving some residue behind but this doesn't, stays on all day too. The one I got ended up actually being shiny (mica something I think the name is) but it isn't very noticeable. I will definitely get this again!
Lip Gloss -New York Color - Extreme Lip Glider CHINATOWN CHERRY

I got this after seeing rave reviews on some blogs. This has a nice, fresh, sweet scent that isn't cloyingly sweet. I find it has a slight taste of jolly rancher candy but without any actual sweetness to it, very pleasant. It has a nice, viscous texture and a nice wash of colour and a little sparkle to it that applies very evenly, no streakiness here! Lasts a long time, high shine (although the super intensity of the shine goes down a bit after a while), and is very conditioning too! Only down side is that if you don't like any scents at all, or you don't like having stray strands of hair stick to your lips (don't think there's any gloss out there that doesn't have this happen) than maybe it isn't for you, but it is so cheap that even if you're just curious I'd give it a go if I were you. Oh and it makes your lips look more luscious and fuller looking (due to the thick consistency) It is only mildly stick too. I'm getting some more colours!
This is a little "meh". I was so excited when I saw it at sally's, 2 for $12 CAN. I have already tried Batiste (like) and Klorane (love!) and was hoping this would be a nice, inexpensive alternative. I have a lot of fine dark brown hair that gets really oily. I've started doing a trick a friend of mine told me, colour your hair so that it makes it a bit dryer (also makes it feel thicker) That's helped but I don't always dye my hair and it still gets oily. I wash my hair every other day now and that is the absolute longest I can go so dry shampoos are a nice thing for me to have around so my hair doesn't look so bad. The Rock On shampoo comes out pretty WHITE. My head looked super white the first time but I massaged it in like it said and that helped. I then brushed my hair. It looked like I have a little bit of dandruff :( It feels a little less oily but not as much as I hoped. It feels a little dirty too, like there's some dust in my hair or something. This does volumize a bit but I will not be buying it again. I will stick to Batiste or Klorane, maybe I can give away the other can.
Lips -Wet 'n' Wild - Natural Blend Lip Shimmer in Cocoa #107
mightymittens 12/15/2010 9:28:00 PM
Where to start. I am an NC25 with oily skin and not very dry lips. My friend and I saw this at Wal-mart and she said it would look nice on me (looking at the cap) So I got it, and I wish I didn't. First it is WAY to dark for me, and I wasn't expecting that since this is supposed to be a BALM! Second it is overly frosty, not shimmery. It just kinda looks bad. Third, it did not apply all that evenly. I tried but it didn't look very consistent. On the plus I do like how it feels, very slick and buttery almost. Nice sensation. So maybe you might like it, but I didn't
Concealers -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Concealer
mightymittens 12/15/2010 9:15:00 PM
I use this along with Maybelline Double Face Perfector (I had that one before I bought this, because the highlighter is supposed to be similar to Touch Eclait by YSL) The colour is a great match (W1-2, I'm NC25) but I wish it had more pigmentation. It feels nice and blends well and wears well though. I some people have mentioned that it has some shimmer in it, I have never noticed but will look more closely next time. I also want to try Milani HD concealer and L'oreal touch magique (is that what it's called?)
I have fairly oily skin (not as oily as when I was a teen, but oily enough that Urban Decay Primer Potion doesn't last me all day like it does most people) I got Sand Beige and I'm an NC25, matches perfectly. This is quite thick feeling, and don't expect sheer coverage from this! It is definitely made to cover up imperfections, but boy does it last! All I need for my skin to look perfect all day is some blotting papers for the excess oil and I'm good to go! If you have coverage issues and oily skin I suggest giving this a try. Just remember to blend quickly because it sets rather fast. Just be sure to clean your face properly after using this with a decent cleanser.
Blush -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Blush - Berry Shimmer
mightymittens 12/13/2010 12:46:00 PM
I meant to get myself one of the silk finish blushes but I got this one instead. The good -beautiful shade, some very slight shimmer but not too much, looks great on my NC25 ish skin tone, I think it could work for a variety of tones too -very pigmented! in fact, this is almost a downfall (almost), The not so good -consistency. It is hard to get this to blend right! It deposits a lot of product on your brush (I do not use the brush it came with) I have a nice big, good quality blush brush (Coastal Scents IB 26 chisel brush) so it helps a lot. This is what I do, I swipe the brush over the blush LIGHTLY and tap it a bit to knock off excess. Then swipe VERY LIGHTLY over my wrist to remove the excess yet again. Then I start applying it to both cheeks. I do these steps because it is easier to apply little by little than it is to blend away any excess, especially since this blush is tricky to blend. I was thinking of giving this a 3 but because it's so pretty I think I'll give it a 4, and the price isn't bad either.
