Cleansers -Murad - Clarifying Skin Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
middleblondie 6/28/2009 8:34:00 PM

i used to have mild acne- two to three noticable bumbs and numerous bumbs i could feel on my face. after i started using the claifying mask, i was sold on the murad products. the very first cleanser to NOT dry out my skin. sulfur is the key ingredient in their acne line- its not as harsh as sayascillic (sp?) acid or benezol peroxide. definatly worth a try

wonderful product--also has numerous uses!! great for nails and skin because of the hydrologzed silk and non existence of alcohol (unlike biosilk's silk therapy)!!!!!! wonderful. i use it on my hands and feets, and often on my face just for added softness

Hair -Bumble & Bumble - Hair Powder
rated 4 of 5
middleblondie 7/27/2008 9:13:00 PM

okay so after reading all the reviews, i take it that the product is best on blondes/gray colored hair. i use the powder to extend time between washings and to give a little more volume at the top of my head. its amazing in my opinion. it makes my hair look more platinum blonde annd helps my up-do's stay better, which is a huge plus. i love it and ill definatly continue to buy it, even if its riduculously overpriced. i'd rather be buying pricey products than use baby powder with talc in it. ****helpful hint: if your nozzle clogs at all, store the bottle upside down, i know it sounds riduculous, but i work at a beauty supply store and we store all of our hairsprays upside down to make them last longer and to keep the nozzle from clogging *************update*********8 as a result of the expensive price, i have ventured out and tried tigi's bedhead rockstar dry shampoo AND big sexy hair volume dry shampoo. i liked the bedhead rockstar dry shampoo- it goes on looking wet but dries.. well...dry. weird, i know. but its been my fav so far, and its a reasonable price for a much bigger bottle

Lip Treatments -Too Faced - Lip Injection
rated 1 of 5
middleblondie 7/27/2008 9:05:00 PM

entirely too much pain for the lack of difference i saw. while making my lips red and appear to be inflamed, my face, especially nose, became red as well! i had to wash off the gloss and drink a few glasses of water for it to return to normal color. use lip venom instead. 1/2 the pain with same result! *********UPDATE*********** i tried a few others- lip venom, sephora's name brand plumper, perricone's, etc. and too faced lip injection is the best. MAKE sure to keep it only on your lips though!!! its worth the pain- use sparingly

Bronzers -Too Faced - Pink Leopard Bronzing Powder
rated 4 of 5
middleblondie 7/27/2008 9:03:00 PM

amazing bronzer. its like a bronzer with a little bit of blush! i have very pale skin and can use this as a contour powder and as a bronzer/blush! (not at the same time, of course) yes the packaging does suck, and i would definatly not recommend using the brush they provide, but it is a good powder. HOWEVEr, i'm not so crazy that theres talc in it, if anyone has an alternative bronzer/blush without the talc that still works as well for pale girls, let me know!

Pressed Powders -Too Faced - Absolutely Invisible
rated 4 of 5
middleblondie 7/27/2008 9:00:00 PM

okay so this was the first "finishing powder" i've ever tried and i keep coming back to it. i like how it goes on translucent, how i do stay oil free for much much longer, and that it blends my blush in for an actual natural flush, and that i also works well with my concealer and doesn't fall into the little lines around my eyes. however, i do NOT like how it has talc in it. its the first ingredient listed, which means that its the most potent. ugh. it dissappoints me so much but i hate trying new finishing powders (i've only tried drugstore brands so far) and continually being dissappointed. this would definatly be my HG finishing powder, if only there were no talc! *if anyone has a product recommendation, please let me know!

Mascara -Too Faced - Lash Injection
rated 2 of 5
middleblondie 7/27/2008 8:51:00 PM

lash injection clumps, flakes off, dries out entirely too fast, annnndddd i rub my lashes raw trying to get it off. HOWever, it is by far the best volumizing mascara i have ever used. when using lash injection by itself, it is very clumpy and about every 50 blinks, a flake of mascara is sitting on your cheek. the tube dries out very very fast. i am very careful with my mascara when it comes to keeping it moistened and clean, however with daily usage of the lash injection, after about 4 weeks there is a noticeable difference that the mascara has dried a significant amount, which makes it clump and flake even more. in addition, even with the best oil-free eye makeup remover, you still end up scrubbing to remove the last of the mascara. H OWEVER!~~~~ if you brush about two coats of maybelline great lash and then apply 2 coats of lash injection, it is absolutely brillant. the great lash acts like a base coat, so no more clumping or flaking. and when it comes time to remove the mascara, get a drugstore oil-free eye makeup remover, and after about two swipes, everything is off. the difference is amazing.

Powder -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light Medium [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
middleblondie 7/27/2008 8:43:00 PM

i am a huge fan of this product. i use studio fix foundation to spot cover my blemishes and dark circles and then apply the mineralize skinfinish natural powder over everything and it blends in so so perfectly. it brightens up my face and just looks so natural AND blends the foundation in with the rest of my skin. brillant product. only drawback is that you do need a finishing powder over it or it will be completely gone by mid afternoon.

Styling Products -TiGi - S-Factor Smoothing Lusterizer
rated 5 of 5
middleblondie 7/27/2008 8:25:00 PM

amazzziiinnggg product! somehow, tigi managed to create a product that can be used on wet and dry hair, that will make your hair soft, silky, and shiny, aaannnnnddddd it wont weigh your hair down!! i love love it. before i used Kenra silkening gloss, kenra smoothing lotion, all soft velvet whip, lanza urban elements shine gel, bumble and bumble shine gel, hemp silk serum, bed head shine junkie, AND redkens outshine lotion milk. so far, s factors smoothing lusterizer has been hands down the absolute best at doing what it advertizes while not weighing my hair down. in addition, if your like me and go 2 or 3 days without washing your hair, its still smooth, shiny, and frizz free. absolutely amazing. and what i like best about it, it doesnt protect against UVA/UVB rays, so my naturally blonde hair can still get lightened by the sun with the smoothing lusterizer. most other products have some sort of sunscreen. (if you are looking for an s factor product with sunscreen that works the same as smoothing lusterizer, try the s factor moisture silk serum. exact same formula, only has UVA/UVB blockers.)

Conditioner -TiGi - Headshot Reconstructive Intense Conditioner
rated 5 of 5
middleblondie 7/27/2008 8:16:00 PM

okay so the headshot shampoo and conditioner was designed to compete with the pureology line AND provide customers with a cheaper alternative to both S factor shampoos and conditioners (smoothing and color savvy). headshot is amazing and i am very very surprised it came from tigi! it defiantly hydrates the hair without weighing it down (i have long long fine hair) AND it manages to make my hair soft and shiny. normally the only good thing that comes from tigi is S factor, but they managed to create headshot shampoo and conditioner that made me question how harsh i was of bed head products before. **in addition, my sister has thick massively curly hair that she straightens 2-3 times a week and used headshot and loved it as well! definatly worth a try!

Conditioner -Nioxin - Scalp Therapy
rated 5 of 5
middleblondie 7/27/2008 8:08:00 PM

okay, i commented on the shampoo, now the conditioner as well. do you honestly expect the amazing minty smell to still be there 2 days after you wash your hair? if there is any shampoo and conditioner whose scent is still noticeable 2 days after you wash your hair, please share this valuable information. in addition, it isnt supposed to make your hair grow. nioxin shampoo and conditioner and scalp therapy only provide the best possible environment for hair to grow back, and/or for hair to be thicker. lastly, to see results, like with any other brand, you need to use both shampoo and conditioner *****update love this stuff, doesn't dry my hair out as much as other methanol products and i loveeeeeeeee it. makes my hair look and feel thicker

Shampoo -Nioxin - Bionutrient Protectives Cleanser (formerly 1C cleanser)
rated 5 of 5
middleblondie 7/27/2008 8:02:00 PM

okay, people, make sure you are using the right system for your hair. after reading some of the reviews and their negative comments, i had to explain. the system one is for naturally thin hair. NOT for hair that is thinning. if your hair is thinning, use system 2. system 3 is for chemically treated hair (color, perm, etc.) for naturally thin hair. system 4 is for chemically treated hair that is thinning. systems 5, 6, 7, and 8 are for thicker or more coarse hair. by thicker, i mean the individual hair is thick. huge difference. if your hair is thinning and your using system 1, no wonder it doesnt work because you have the wrong system! if you have the correct system for your hair, its an amazing product with awesome results. and delicious smell

Styling Products -Sexy Hair Concepts - Root Pump
rated 5 of 5
middleblondie 7/27/2008 7:55:00 PM

amazinnngggg root pump!! it does its job and makes my hair shinier as well! i went on a flight to tokyo and applied the root pump before leaving for the airport. 3 days later, after one delay and no shower, my hair was still brillantly volumized at the scalp, even after sleeping directly on it! note: it is not an all-over hair volumzer, it is only a root pump.

Shampoo -Sexy Hair Concepts - Silky Sexy Hair Smoothing Shampoo
rated 2 of 5
middleblondie 7/27/2008 7:50:00 PM

definatly not that ballin. i was expecting a great product to match the great fruity pebbles smell of the shampoo and conditioner and i also had high expectations because everything else sexy hair i've used has been amazing. but the silkysexy hair shampoo and conditioner just didnt cut it. i have waist legnth long hair that isn't think but isn't thin. the shampoo and conditioner left my hair feeling weird, like there was too much product in it, but there wasn't any product at all! i guess if you go from using herbal essences to silkysexyhair, you see a difference, but i went from using KMS silksheen shampoo and conditioner to the silkysexy hair shampoo and conditioner and it was definatly dissappointing

Hair -KMS California - Silker Leave-In Treatment
rated 5 of 5
middleblondie 7/27/2008 7:45:00 PM

the product isn't advertized to hydrate your hair, or to help with flyaways or frizz. its advertized to detangle and soften your hair. which it does beautifully. its a great lightweight leave in conditioner that doesnt smell "normal" but its definatly not bad. oh well, i like it alot *********update still using it. i have ventured out a bit and always come back. when i don't use it, my hair is noticably frizzier, more tangly, and looks more "windswept". when i do use it, my hair is softer, shiner, brighter (if that makes any sense), and looks more fresh. i can't explain it. but i will continue to use it. i wish they made a bigger bottle <3
