Skincare - Face -MyChelle - Deep Repair Cream

I tried a sample size of this product, and found it outstanding! I've been looking for a very moisturising cream for night time - I normally use a facial oil blend of macadamia and avocado, but needed something else on top for a bit extra. This cream fits the bill - perfect! I will definitely be buying a full-size version. It's also rare to find a large skincare company that doesn't include any nasties in their products - very impressive!

Eyeliner -Rimmel - Exaggerate Liquid Eye Liner
rated 3 of 5

I was disappointed in this product, because even though it's cheap, I had heard that it was very good ... but it's just a run-of-the-mill liquid eyeliner :( It would be fine for people who wear minimum eyeliner, but I wear winged cats-eye liner every day, and I found that the 'wing' came off after only a few hours. Blinc is the winner if you want a really good smudge-proof liner ;)

Eyeliner -RMK - Ingenious Gel Eyeliner
rated 3 of 5

This is the same as any other gel eyeliner ... I would put it at the same standard as the MAC, Inglot and Indelible - the latter being the cheapest ;) I was trying out many different eyeliners, trying to find one that would last all day with my winged cats-eye liner. (The winner was Blinc, by the way!)

Cleansers -Garden of Wisdom - Milk, Oat and Honey Cleanser
rated 5 of 5

I love this cleanser! I have dry skin, and use this in the shower every morning - I didn't find it drying at all. It has a lovely creamy texture, and is very good value for money. Pity it doesn't come in a bigger tube!

Concealers -Meow Cosmetics - Purr-fect Cover Concealer
rated 5 of 5

Yes, this concealer *does* run light - select the shade darker than your foundation. But it covers perfectly, and you only need a small amount! I use a brush to apply ... though when I use with Meow Flawless Feline Foundation, I hardly need to use concealer at all, since the foundation does most of the coverage itself. I purchase $1 samples of the concealer, and that lasts for many months.

Liquid -MAC - Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15
rated 1 of 5

This was the last foundation I bought before switching to mineral foundation. After using this foundation (among other brands), my skin kept breaking out, and was generally awful. This didn't cover my pigmentation, which required quite a lot of concealer. I encourage people reading this to explore mineral foundations (and natural skincare in general) - they are much better for your skin and give better coverage - who wants to put all these chemicals on your skin? - YUCK!

Powder -Meow Cosmetics - Flawless Feline Mineral Foundation
rated 5 of 5
michellethreefold 9/21/2011 12:11:00 AM

This is seriously the BEST foundation ever! Once you get over the overwhelment of all the shades (sampling, and emailing Meow customer service is the best way to go), you'll find that you'll never look at another foundation again. When I decided to use only natural products and mineral makeup, I looked around for liquid mineral foundation, as I thought that powder would be way too drying. After finding nothing I liked (and spending way too much $$$), I decided to try Meow. Well, I was very impressed!! It did not dry out my skin, was very cheap, and covered my pigmentation. This is a foundation I will continue to buy - though the jar is massive, so I don't envisage needing any more for quite a while!

Treatments -Garden of Wisdom - Mandelic Acid Serum
rated 5 of 5
michellethreefold 9/21/2011 12:07:00 AM

Along with the Light & Bright Serum, the Mandelic Acid is definitely working to shift my pigmentation! I started with 5%, and then moved up to 15%. Both are quite drying (since they are exfoliants), but as long as you follow up with a good moisturiser (or in my case facial oil), then you'll be fine. I only use the 15% formula every couple of days.

Treatments -Garden of Wisdom - Light n' Brite Serum
rated 5 of 5

Fantastic product! I've had pigmentation for quite a few years, and have tried many products to help shift it. My beautician's view is that it *cannot* really be treated ... but I've been using this paired with the Mandelic Acid for about 6 months now, and the pigmentation is getting lighter and lighter. I started with the 5% Mandelic Acid and the Light & Bright Serum, then after a few months went to 15% Mandelic Acid a couple of times a week and the Light & Bright Serum Amped Up Version every night. Although the pigmentation is still there, it is definitely getting lighter (very slowly!). My beautician concedes it is working, and has recommended to other clients!
