Polishes -Essie - Skirting the Issue
michellekim 11/20/2012 12:14:00 AM
This colour is gorgeous and so shiny (I didn't even bother with a topcoat), but application is tricky and required 4 coats. I've always been really skilled at applying my nail polish but if you're one of those girls who don't have a steady hand, don't bother purchasing this or purchase it but take it to your manicurist. The finished result is beautiful, and it's an oxblood, vampy colour that's perfect for fall.

Blush -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Blush - Berry Shimmer
michellekim 11/20/2012 12:08:00 AM
When I first applied this blush, I thought it was too garish and red - but then I just realized that it's SUPER pigmented and you literally need to just touch your blush brush to the product for a nice flush. I am so amazed with the finely milled texture and colour payoff of this blush. It looks even better when I have a tan. It's a coral-red blush with fine gold shimmer. The brush that is included is absolute crap and immediately went into the garbage can.The packaging kind of sucks and I'm always nervous that I'm going to drop it while trying to open it. But the quality of this product (as well as many other Wet 'n' Wild products) is so impressive and better than most of my department store blushes. Wet 'n' Wild is definitely my favourite drugstore makeup brand.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Benzaclin Gel
michellekim 7/21/2012 3:57:00 PM
This has been an absolute lifesaver for me. I had a recent bout of nasty and stubborn perioral acne which would not go away for over a month. I went to the doctor and he prescribed Benzaclin for me. It was almost $90 (I live in Canada and don't have any health plan) but it is so worth it. It comes in a opaque white plastic pump bottle, which is hygienic and prevents the formula from being comprised by light or oxygen. I apply a light coat of it to acne-prone areas and a little bit extra on any active breakouts.

Polishes -OPI - Who Needs A Prince
michellekim 7/21/2012 3:53:00 PM
I was never into pale nailpolish shades, but this was the first of its kind I bought and I love it. It makes me feel classy and pretty. It's the perfect shade for a job interview, first date, meeting the parents, and the like. It is pearly and glimmers pink and gold in the light. I like to apply about 3 coats, although 2 coats will do just fine.

Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Mia
michellekim 7/21/2012 3:48:00 PM
I LOVE my Mia! (Mia is a funny name/word to me because it means "missing child" in Korean, haha. Although there is nothing funny about missing children...) My skin is crazy and unpredictable. There are months at a time when I receive non-stop compliments on my skin from strangers and even from dermatologists, and at other times my skin is covered in big painful cysts :'( I was going through a nasty bout of chin-perioral acne resulting from f*cking with my hormones with the morning-after pill and then taking The Pill for a month, and then going off of it. (in my experience, the birth-control pill makes my skin worse and not better). I bought Clarisonic Mia on a whim, my ex had it and his skin didn't look any better from it to me, but I decided to try it anyways because the pretty display of the Mias drew me in... and I knew I could return it if it didn't work out for me. It's been 2 weeks and all my painful breakouts are gone and so are my blackheads on my nose! My skin is less congested, and after using my Mia my makeup glides on effortlessly and so my skincare products absorb into my skin so much better than without the Mia. I've been recommending it to everyone!

Polishes -Essie - Muchi Muchi
michellekim 7/21/2012 3:41:00 PM
This colour is a pretty pastel pink-lavender shade - very girly and cute for summer. I like its "jelly" formula/texture, like most Essie shades. Although a pretty shade, it's not my absolute favourite... I like it, but don't love it - just a matter of personal preference.

Polishes -Essie - Fiji
michellekim 7/21/2012 3:37:00 PM
Fiji is such a pretty pale white-pink colour, and like the other reviewers say - it does make you appear more tan, which I love. However, application is definitely tricky; it is streaky and takes 3+ coats for opacity and streaks will still remain... Streakiness is inevitable with this shade. A top coat helps clean it up a bit, though. Yet, I still love this colour and it looks great on toes too :)

Lotions/ Creams -Paula's Choice - RESIST Skin Revealing 10% AHA Lotion
michellekim 8/6/2008 5:21:00 PM
I have keratosis pilaris on my upper arms, and this lotion is great for minimizing them! Also, I like the 10% AHA strength for my face. It makes me complexion glowy and helps to fade my post-acne scarring. Paula often has free shipping promotions, so snatch this up then!

Highlighters -Stila - All Over Shimmer Liquid Luminizer - 2 Pink
michellekim 8/6/2008 2:46:00 PM
I'd buy this product again, but it seems to me after reading the reviews that the #6 Peach shade may be more flattering for my skin tone (Naturally, I'm a fair beige toned Asian - Korean to be specific) But the #2 Pink is good for my tanned complexion right now! Be careful though, a little goes a long away with this product. Sometimes I end up overdoing it just a little bit and in pictures I look overdone. I love wearing this to the clubs!

Treatments -The Body Shop - Vitamin C Night Repair [DISCONTINUED]
michellekim 8/6/2008 1:56:00 AM
I love this product. When used properly, it has great results! When I went into get a series of glycolic acid peels, my facialist lady (? for a lack of better words) told me Vitamin C helps fade scars so when The Body Shop had their Buy 2, Get 1 free sale, I had to give this a try. I'm prone to breakouts and us Asians are more susceptible to post-acne scarring. When used in combination with AHA lotion, the Vitamin C Overnight treatment really helped in fading my scars! All my friends have commented. I'm a happy girl. And I love the fresh satsuma smell :)
