Eye Shadow -Clinique - Touch Tint for Eyes - Nude Sparkle [DISCONTINUED]
michelle005 5/14/2009 6:57:00 PM
This is my most favorite cream eyeshadow around. I mainly use it as a base but it also works perfect alone with some black or brown eyeliner for a polished nude look. It's the perfect color for me, not too much sparkle, just the right amount of shimmer. You only need a teeny amount, so a tube of this will last me almost a year which makes it a really cheap buy. It just really sucks that they discontinued it. I found my latest tube on ebay for about the same price as retail. The lady at the Clinique counter recommended the Quick Eyes Cream Shadow in Sparkly Nude to replace this, which I purchased, but it's just not the same, nor would it last me nearly as long as it has a doe-foot applicator. I like the squeeze tube so much better.

Cleansers -Clinique - Rinse-off foaming cleanser
michelle005 5/14/2009 6:39:00 PM
I've been using this for years. It's my favorite Clinique product. It cleans up all makeup and oil and leaves my skin feeling super clean. Without a moisturizer it might dry your skin out, but I always use one so that's not a problem for me. One tube of this will last me at least 6 months...maybe even 7 or 8, so the price is highly justifiable. Such a small amount (I use about the size of a pearl) creates a really nice lather that feels like a soft layer of foam on my face. This is definitely my HG cleanser.

Lip Gloss -Bonne Bell - Dr. Pepper lipsmackers
michelle005 5/14/2009 6:30:00 PM
This is my favorite lip balm. It keeps my lips very moisturized and shiny and the tint is the most perfect color for me. I currently have three tubes going...one in my makeup bag at home, one in my purse and one in my desk at work. Will be repurchasing for as long as they make it.

Hair -Mane 'n Tail - Conditioner
michelle005 5/14/2009 6:22:00 PM
I love this stuff. It's not as thick as I normally like conditioners to be, but it does the job well. It feels really light and doesn't seem to weigh my hair down while it still manages to make it soft and silky. I really like the smell, too. Very light and clean. I use the matching shampoo and it seems to be the perfect combination for my hair. I haven't had any build-up yet and I've been using it for a few weeks now. Will definitely be repurchasing.

Shampoo -Mane 'n Tail - Shampoo
michelle005 5/14/2009 6:12:00 PM
I love this stuff! I'd seen it on drugstore shelves for yeeeaaars and always wondered about it. Finally, during a random beauty products spree, I picked me up some at Walgreens and I've been using it for a few weeks now. It's thick and lathers up really well and makes my hair so shiny and clean feeling. I really like the smell. It's light and fresh and clean and I like how it doesn't mask my perfume. I've only used it with the conditioner (I always use conditioner), so I'm not sure how it does on it's own, but it doesn't make my hair super squeaky or dry feeling when I rinse it out, it just feels nice. You can't go wrong with the price either, considering how much you get in the bottle. I've recommended my "horse shampoo" to all my friends.

Hair Styling Tools -GHD - IV Styler (all sizes)
michelle005 5/14/2009 3:31:00 PM
I absolutely love my ghd. I've owned it for about 6 months now. I have the hot pink one which I got from Sephora and it came with a roll mat, a zip-up case, two hair clips and a dvd, and a portion of the proceeds goes to breast cancer research (a small portion, but a portion nonetheless). My hair is color treated and naturally curly/wavy and this baby straightens it like no other! I was previously using a Solia (which I thought was soooo expensive, haha) and it doesn't even compare. Even on the highest temp I was having to run the Solia through my hair multiple times. With the ghd I glide it down once and it's perfectly straight and frizz free. It also makes my hair shine like crazy. I have gotten so many compliments, from girls at the nail salon, to Sephora SA's, to even a homeless man on the street (I am not kidding...just yesterday I walked by this guy who I thought had asked me for change and when I said, "what?" he goes, "your hair...it's so fiery red, so shiny and pretty!" ha!). It’s also the only flat iron I’ve ever been able to curl with…works really well for that once you get the hang of it. I do admit the price is pretty outrageous. It took a lot for me to shell out this much but it was something I wanted SO BAD so finally I just bit the bullet and I'm really glad I did. Just a little advice about all the “good deals” on ebay…don’t buy it. 99% of them are counterfeit. I tried it myself…won a white “pure” ghd for around $140 which I was so excited about. I received it and it felt like it was made of cheap materials, but I WAS able to register it on the ghd website so I thought maybe it was real. Just to be sure I called the ghd customer service line and talked to a representative. She told me the main way to tell if it is counterfeit is that ALL ghds have grounded plugs (the box plug with the test/reset buttons). My ebay ghd had a plain plug, not a grounded one. She also told me that as of that date (6 months ago) ghd had not released any irons with holograms on the tag or box in the US. Now, don't confuse this with the UK models because I heard they DO have holograms, but the US ones DON'T. A ton of the ebay listings try to pass theirs off as being real because of the "official holograms", so BEWARE! Luckily I got my money refunded from the seller the same day. That is when I discovered that if it seems too good to be true it probably is. Please don't get one off ebay or anywhere else that is not a reputable source! I recommend Sephora. Not only are they trustworthy, but they have the best return policy ever!

Shampoo -Suave - strawberry shampoo
michelle005 11/7/2007 3:21:00 PM
I know it's not labeled as one, but I use this once or twice a week as my clarifying shampoo. It surprisingly doesn't strip my hair (like Pantene's clarifying shampoo does, ick!). It leaves my hair really clean and shiny, and I love the scent (though I like sweet scents....I can see how some are turned off by it). It's cheap and I like the clear packaging. I also sometimes use it as a body wash. It works great for that, too!

Conditioner -Alberto Vo5 - Kiwi and Lime Squeeze Clarifying Conditioner
michelle005 11/7/2007 2:59:00 PM
LOVE this stuff! I use it for CO washes. I also find it's good to use as a normal conditioner from root to midshaft, while using a deeper conditioner midshaft to ends, that way my hair isn't weighed down on top. I looooove the scent. I'm having a hard time finding it at any drug/grocery stores in my area. Looks like it's been replaced with the Vanilla Mint Tea clarifying shampoo/cond. I did, however, find tons of it at a "99 Cent Only" store, so I'm gonna go back and stock up before it's completely gone! 99 cents?? Heck yeah!!

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Fun Frosted Cranberry
michelle005 11/7/2007 2:28:00 PM
I have the antibacterial hand soap in this scent. I think it smells really good straight from the bottle which prompted me to purchase it, but after you wash and dry your hands with it, the lingering "after-scent" is pretty strange. The only way I can describe it is like burnt cranberries. It's really odd. It sticks around for a while, too, which is why I'm giving it 3 lippies, because I like the product itself...I just would not purchase this scent again. I'll keep using it until I can't stand that weird burning smell any longer, because I hate to waste. I also bought the Vanilla Bean Noel scent, which is awesome.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Renew and Firm Apricot Scrub
michelle005 10/22/2007 4:31:00 PM
I recently tried the Apricot Scrub for Blackheads and Blemishes but alas, my skin hates salicylic acid so I broke out (and I KNEW this, too, but being a product junkie I just had to try it). I was going to get the original Apricot Scrub formula, but this one caught my attention. I use Neutrogena's Healthy Skin SPF 15 Face Lotion which contains AHA's and my skin seems to love that, so I figured this couldn't hurt. First, as others have said, it's not nearly as abrasive as the other scrubs but I don't mind not having the skin torn off my face. It has a more gentle scrub feel that still leaves skin smooth and soft. The AHA's must indeed be gentle as the bottle says, as I don't feel any of the stinging I get with the Neutrogena Healthy Skin. Most importantly, my skin tone has totally evened out and my rather large pores appear to be minimized. I haven't gotten any breakouts and my face doesn't feel as oily by the end of the day, where normally I'm an oil slick by lunch. I LOOOVE the scent of it, too...very fresh! This has turned into one of my favorite cleanser/scrubs ever! BTW...I use Clinique's Rinse-off Foaming Face Wash to remove my eye makeup and cleanse around the eye area before I use the scrub because obviously you shouldn't use this on the eyes.

Hair -Unlisted Brand - Cabot - Color Enhancing Shampoo
michelle005 7/24/2007 11:19:00 AM
I tried this product in the Auburn shade, followed the directions exactly, and rather than enhancing my dyed-dark-auburn color, it seemed to strip some of the color away. It also left my hair feeling like straw afterwards, despite it's claim to have conditioners in it. I followed it with Frieda Radiant Red Deep Conditioning Mask which made it feel better. The packaging of the product also wasn't that great, being in a little foil pouch. I thought maybe I got a sample of it (found it really cheap at Big Lots in my search for good color enhancing products), but reading the other reviews I understand this is how they all come. I guess being from Big Lots means it's been discontinued from stores? Anyway, seeing as it's gotten pretty good reviews so far, it seems to work for some, but it didn't work for me.
