Moisturizers -Sebamed - Clear Face Care Gel

I like this a lot. I have pretty cranky skin, many products cause irritation and redness or else break me out. This does neither, plus in fragrance-free and pretty inexpensive (I purchase from feelunique.com , who offer free worldwide shipping).

Polishes -China Glaze - Great Barrier Beige
michalehr 7/8/2012 9:14:00 AM
I got this as a present, and actually really like it. On my very pale skin this is a nudey-pink, one of the few nudes to actually look good on me. Haven't had any problems with the formula, I apply 2 coats and the 2nd is even and non-streaky. Edit: Guess I reviewed this too soon. Had to take this down from 4 lippies. Lasting power is horrible! I used this on my toenails, where nail polish usually survives at least a couple of weeks for me, and this chipped on both big toes by the 3rd day. This has NEVER happened to me, shame on you,China Glaze!

Mascara -Lancome - Hypnose Waterproof
michalehr 3/7/2011 11:37:00 AM
I really like this mascara. It gives me very pretty lashes, without clumping. Lasting power is good too, doesn't last all day but almost. Edit: I have found that only tubing mascaras last all day on me and am now loving Becca ultimate mascara.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Biotique - Morning Nectar
michalehr 3/7/2011 11:34:00 AM
I bought this on a trip to India when I ran out of my regular moisturizer, however I know this is also available on e-bay for $11 for 120ml and plan on getting my next bottle there. In India two (huge) sizes are available, 120/210ml. What I love about this moisturizer is how moisturizing it is, without being at all heavy or greasy. I use a very small amount (you really don't need more) and this year, unlike every other, I do not have dry, flaky winter skin. I also wore this in the extreme heat of India and home, and still - this did not get greasy or break me out. I also wore sunscreen over this, with no problem. This never irritates my easy-to-annoy skin, and in fact seems to soothe it. Will repurchase, when I finish my gigantic 210ml bottle. For reference, I have sensitive combination skin, 28yr old skin.

Mascara -Becca - Ultimate Mascara
michalehr 6/28/2010 3:02:00 AM
I think I have finally found my HG mascara. This mascara makes my eyes look pretty. I've been using tubing mascaras for the past couple of years since everything else ends up under my eyes, and have used Fiberwig (not bad), Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero Smudge (not as good) and Clinique's version (my least favorite). Becca's is by far the most dramatic, but in a soft and pretty way. As another reviewer mentioned (and whom I thank because I might not have given it another chance) this mascara flakes badly the first couple of times you use it, but after that it stops - and no flaking or smearing all day long. So I would very much recommend buying this, but while you have another mascara around for the first week or so. Will buy again.

Treatments (Eye) -Clinique - All About Eyes Rich
michalehr 7/12/2009 10:58:00 AM
I like this. It's a nice, basic moisturizer, which makes the area under my eyes look a little better, which is all I really expect. I've had some bad experience with eye creams making my eyes look worse - puffy, or making the veins there more prominent, so I'll probably stick with this for a while.

Sunscreen -Shiseido - Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion SPF 55 PA+++ [DISCONTINUED]
michalehr 7/12/2009 10:49:00 AM
Amazing stuff. I'm on my 2nd bottle (they last quite a while being as a bottle is 100 ml, btw) and plan on repurchasing. It isn't very expensive considering the amount. Texture is very light, so using the recommended 1/4 of a tsp is no problem at all. I've never been sunburned with this, which is saying a lot considering that I live in a very hot and sunny country and have very pale skin. It leaves a very nice, matte finish, and makeup glides over it and probably stays on longer thanks to it. Make sure you use a moisturizer under this sunscreen (unless you have super oily skin), because it WILL dry your skin out if you don't.

Foundations -Signature Minerals - Foundation
michalehr 7/12/2009 10:37:00 AM
I think this is my HG. I'm on my 3rd one, and still loving it. #0 is the best color match I've ever found for my very pale skin. While the coverage isn't high, it IS the most natural looking foundation I've ever tried and looks great in sunlight. It blends in to my skin so well, that I can just dab on a little extra powder with my fingers on areas that need more coverage (ie, pimples). Also, I live in a hot and humid climate, and it stays put very well. I have sensitive skin and it has never irritated it or broken me out. I've tried mineral foundation by EDM, Lumiere, Joppa, Ocean Mist and probably some others and this wins hands down. Packaging sucks, though, since the lid is too small for my brush, but that can be fixed easily - I just moved mine to an old EDM container. I use it over Decleor Aroma Matte and Shiseido 50 SPF for face and body, both of which I love.

Fragrances -Burberry - The Beat [DISCONTINUED]
michalehr 12/11/2008 4:30:00 AM
I love this. I have a hard time finding fragrances I like, since I find many to be too sweet, cause a headache, smell good on some one else. I usually prefer light, citrusy fragrances, such as Light Blue or L'anvin eclat. I find The Beat to be a warm, comforting, yet sexy scent. I've almost finished a bottle, and plan on repurchasing. My only complaint is that the lasting power isn't all that it could be, but I solve that by spraying some on my hair too, where it lasts all day.

Concealers -Stila - Illuminating Concealer
michalehr 12/3/2008 1:30:00 PM
This is a good, medium coverage concealer. Pros: Good color match (I use "Fair", and for reference, I previously used Mac's MoistureCover in NW15), good lasting power (better than the moisturecover, imho), VERY natural looking in daylight, makes me look more awake. Cons: The packaging is terrible, this is not a product you can throw in your makeup bag since it tends to leak. Coverage is good, but not perfect. I presonally prefer natural to perfect during the day anyway, so it's fine with me. A little pricey. Overall, this is a good concealer, and I will repurchase.

Most mascaras smudge on me at some point, but this one smudges after 5 minutes. I actually threw this away.

Moisturizers -Stila - Petal Infusions Moisturizer Hydratant for Oily Skin
michalehr 9/25/2008 12:57:00 PM
This is just ok. I bought this on sale so it was very inexpensive, but I wouldn't pay full price for it. It is very light, but even though, I find it moisturizing enough for my combination skin, at least now, during the summer. However, this turns my sensitive skin slightly red. May work for you if your skin isn't sensitive. Also bear in mind, this does not have a matte finish. Pump packaging is nice, smell is lemony.

Moisturizers -Decleor - Aroma Purete Fluide Matifiant Peau de Peche - Matte Finish Skin Fluid
michalehr 9/25/2008 12:51:00 PM
I really like this moisturizer. I have sensitive, combination skin, and this makes my skin look and feel calmer. Also, unlike most mattifying creams, this actually moisturizes as well as giving you matte skin. I have repurchased this although it's expensive, IMHO it's worth it.

Treatments (Eye) -Garnier - Nutritionist Regenerating Eye cream
michalehr 9/25/2008 12:45:00 PM
I made the mistake of buying this depite the terrible reviews, since I was looking for an inexpensive eyecream containing caffeine. It actually made a pretty good impression at first, as lightly moisturising and prehaps slightly reducing puffiness. However, after using it for a while I began noticing that the color in my undereye are was strangely reddish, and with closer examination I could see tiny, burst, red capilleries. BIG no-no.

Mascara -Clinique - Lash Power
michalehr 9/25/2008 12:37:00 PM
I love this mascara. This is the first tubing mascara I've tried and I'm sold on it. I wear contact lenses so my eyes are constantly moist AND live in hot and humid weather, so I have never had any mascara stay completely put, including my previous HG, Hypnose Waterproof, by Lancome. This mascara does not budge, and has worn with me through long days, tears and sleep. Highly recommended, I can't wait to try the new, Asian market, lash curling version! Edit : I am now using the curling version (bought it on strawberrynet), and it's even better! This makes my eyes look more wide-awake than the original version. I'm not sure how much of a difference this would make on straight lashes, since mine are short but fairly curled, but on me this looks nicer + same great lasting power.
