Loose Powders -Ben Nye - Bella Luxury Powder: Banana (formerly known as Visage Poudre Luxury Powder)
merrysunny77 12/9/2012 11:24:00 PM
Love this! Will echo what the other fellow tan ladies are saying. I am probably NC40, East Indian skin ton. I don't wear foundation but this dusted over my face just makes me look finished. I was happy with my LM Secret Finishing Powder n #2 for setting my concealer but this is even better. I got a decent amount for about 10 bucks on Ebay. I just dust a power brush over the holes and apply. I think this would last me forever.. Great powder!

Makeup Brushes -Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman - Domed Shadow Brush
merrysunny77 11/8/2012 6:26:00 PM
I am obsessed with this brush! The one product I use day 2 day besides mascara is under eye concealer. I was aware that the the Pixiwoo sisters used this brush in their videos for under eye concealer - but I already own so many brushes. I went ahead and purchased (even though frankly I didn't need any of the other brushes in the travel essential set) and am so happy I did! I am buying more b/c I love this brush so much. It spread concealers like a dream, and cream eye shadow. I have not used with actual regular e/s so I am not sure but I am sure it's great. Love love this..and then I apply setting powder with the RT finishing brush under the eyes. I wish they sold this separately! I don't know what it is about these brushes but they make applying even "not fun" makeup fun!

Lips -Korres - plum lip butter
merrysunny77 9/16/2012 9:12:00 PM
I am NC 37 and I love this stuff! On my shade it doesn't look too much at all - and is really flattering. I like the Wild Rose one too - just a different look. Moisturizing, cheap, portable - perfect my my no makeup/makeup routine. The fact that this is 10 bucks is awesome. I can buy a bunch and just stash them everywhere.. car, gym bag, etc. I love the smell too...I use my hands to apply all my makeup so I don't mind and I don't really worry about germs.if it was in a tube I think it would be stickier - and that's why I don't use gloss anymore except for a special occasion.

Polishes -Essie - Smokin' Hot - Winter 2010
merrysunny77 8/1/2012 3:41:00 AM
yay! I love this polish. Even though its from last year I just picked it up. I love vampy purples and gray purples and this looked so nice in the bottle- but I waited b/c I have others like Metro Chic and I Brake For Manicures (OPI). This is the perfect mix of the two. dark and purple.but also with that gray/taupe undertone. The formula is great....I am a big fan of Essie polishes in general. I love that it doesn't look black on ...so to me its like metro chic and I dont break for manicures had a baby...and on my yellow based olive to tan skin tone it doesn't look garish.

Treatments -Peter Thomas Roth - Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads
merrysunny77 4/10/2012 5:18:00 AM
So I decided to try these with all the hype and they live up to it! I have super super tolerant skin but it's oily in the tzone and can be prone to large pore. Like alot of folks on MUA I use and have used many different things on my skin - so to notice something right away is cool. As I have gotten older I have stopped using BHA as it just dries out my skin. But my nose and chin are prone to blackheads and clogging - esp if I use the wrong lotion. I think the key to this is it delivers just enough BHA to keep my combo areas less oily w/out drying them out. ....plus of course the AHAs to brighten the skin. I have used alot of AHA products in the past - and to me that part is not that different from other products. But the combo of the pad brightening normal skin, cleaning oily skin, and being moisturizing and not irritating in any way is truly unique. I have used for a few days and I can really see a difference! I use half a pad a few times a week and it's plenty...

Shampoo -Aveeno - Pure Renewal Sulfate Free Shampoo
merrysunny77 3/25/2012 7:40:00 PM
Absolute crap! The worst shampoo I have ever used. On a hunt for a sulfate free, sodium free shampoo as found out Morrocan Oil shampoo does have sodium chloride in it. I am so mad that it's marketed as safe for Keratin treatment hair but that's another story... This stuff was horrible - I my hair is literally straw after one use, I feel like it greatly washed my brand new Keratin treatment out after one use

Shampoo -Moroccanoil - Moisture Repair Shampoo
merrysunny77 3/25/2012 12:27:00 AM
I bought into the hype on this stuff...I don't have dry/damaged hair - it's normal, sometime frizzy - esp if highlighted. I love the smell of this..and I do like the light oil. I don't blow dry my hair but the oil gives it a quick "finished" look after the shower. I found that the shampoo didnt really do anything for or against my hair..I always cheap DS shampoo and am fine with it - so maybe I just dont like sulfate free stuff. Why do hairstylists reco this after the Brazilian Keratin treatments?!?! I am so mad...after finishing this stuff I went out and bought another bottle as it was reco'd for post treatment. Do people not realize this has sodium chloride in it?!

Lip Treatments -Korres - Lip Butter - Wild Rose
merrysunny77 3/21/2012 7:46:00 PM
I love this stuff. It's a pretty light red rose color and can be build up. Super moisturizing and smells great. I like the consistency as its not glossy but no a lipstick. I have also tried the Korres lipsticks and I love those too. My 2 minute day to day makeup is vitazing, under/eye concealer, this, and some mascara. This is also a great base for lighter lipsticks. It leaves a long lasting stain and glosses or sheer lipsticks can be applied on top for multi-dimensional look.

Lotions/ Creams -Origins - Gloomaway Grapefruit Body Souffle
merrysunny77 3/21/2012 4:37:00 AM
Received this in swap and I absolutely love! I took a lippie off for packaging - but its probably not fair as getting this consistency in a tube or bottle form wouldn't work. I love grapefruit and ginger - my 2 favorite food smells (well cinnamon too) and I love Origins products so I am in heaven. I place on my nightstand and use on my legs before bed...at least that way I can enjoy the product and not lose the enjoyment in some post workout or AM rush. I used the ginger souffle years ago but gave it up as I went DS for my skin care as it seemed like an unnecessary cost. The price for this is steep and I know I will go through it so quickly even if I am careful to use what I need. It moisturizes well. I used the ginger one when I lived in a dry climate...and it was nice but not moisturizing enough for me. In my new nondry climate it's perfect. Addiction is renewed...once this is finished I just dont know if I should get this or the ginger one...as both are awesome:)

Blush -Tarte - Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Exposed Tarte Blush
merrysunny77 3/20/2012 4:21:00 PM
I guess I dont share the love or these blushes..which IMO are $ for what they are and overrated. I bought the shade exposed. I have NC 37-40 skin and wear very natural looking makeup. I already had MAC's Blush Baby - and it's a staple - but I had more than hit pan so I decided to try these out will all the hype and in the hope it was las long lasting as people say. In general both cream and powder blush lasts about a minute on me. I don't really want to spend time layering blushes in the am (creme+powder) but maybe that is my only option. I don't wear foundation day to day - and over my moisturizer these last no longer than any other blush. I don't have oily cheeks, breakout prone skin, or sensitive skin. With foundation - it lasts longer - but I wear that once in a blue moon. I actually like the formula and pay off of MAC Sheertone blushes better (one of the few things in my beauty stash that's actually been used till gone) but they don't last on me. I prefer the color of Blush Baby..thought the difference b/t that and Exposed isn't really detectable on my skin. I find I have to work harder to get this to pay off on the brush as well.. I used this now as my travel /purse blush as its got a mirror in it...and I love that tarte and stila cosmetic compacts are color coded (that plus mirror easily worth the extra $ as it sames me time) I am not a fan of the formula..so I would not repurchase

Scrubs -Origins - Modern Friction
merrysunny77 3/18/2012 12:53:00 AM
I really enjoy this. I am a big fan of Origins skincare and have many of their products. I got a deluxe (really big size) sample of this last year when I bought my Vitazing and I used it very sparingly and there is still some left. I find that it really scrubs my skin ( even with all my chemical exfoliation and items I use..I still love a good scrub) w/out overdrying or being harsh. I actually like that they have changed it to be a bit creamier and in a tube. I can see how if you liked the grittier texture before then the new one might not feel as good. I like it b/c the old version would have been too harsh for me to use with all the other stuff in my rotation. Overpriced for what is is - but I find that if you are good about using what you need (pea sized amount) Origins products last forever

Masks -Makeup Artist's Choice (MUAC) - 25% Mandelic Acid Peel
merrysunny77 3/6/2012 2:45:00 PM
This stuff is wonderful. I have dark skin (NC 37-40) and just trying to keep my skin youthful looking and deal with blackheads and easily clogged nose and chin. I use a number of other products and didn't want to over do it (also with dark skin - you irritate once..even just from inflammation..and you are taking 6 months of darkness if you are lucky) This is perfect. I have already used it 2x in one week ( was gentle with not using other exfoliants during this time) and my skin feels great. It gets the blackheads under the skin I can't get otherwise....and really helps at that TOM when my skin gets oily. I dont have acne or marks to remove and pretty even toned skin (I also use a clairsonic, manual scrub, and AHA at night....not all at once) . This was able to gently remove blackheads in a way that Tazorac was not...I am actually thinking of stopping my other stuff and just using this 2x a week and AHA 1-2x at night.. I didnt get much peeling and and zero irritation...I have super tolerant skin. It takes literally 5 minute to do, zero downtime, and a great value.

Eyeliner -Stila - Kajal Eye Liner in Onyx
merrysunny77 3/5/2012 12:10:00 AM
So I am on the fence with this one..I am Indian and use alot of black/brown smudge cake/kajal type liners on my eyes and love the way they look.. This pencil is great in that it's as dark as a liquid (it's black black) and smudgy (that's how I wear it)...but it's just so messy. Everytime you handle it you have to be so careful you don't get any anywhere or you have a mess on your hand... I used this only on my upper lash line - I draw a line and smudge. I placed a few dots and use a smudge brush. I use LM cake line to tightline and that doesn't budge ...I have used these a few times for that purpose too but I wouldn't trust it to look like it looks like I apply an hour later. As I have gotten older I don't wear dark colors in my waterline/lower lash line anymore..as it looks too harsh. I found this much easier to smudge than 24/7 Zero and MAC's engraved - both of which left a small space b/t my upper lashes and the liner, and tugged my eye area. I was never a fan of MAC's smolder... You have to sharpen often and it does waste product... Bottom line - I think these were great when they came out (there was nothing like it) But now there is UD perversion, the Milani liquify pencils...and those probably do a similar job with less mess (I have never used either - but in swatches they are both soft and jet black)

Polishes -Essie - Splash of Grenadine
merrysunny77 3/1/2012 2:46:00 AM
Gorgeous Color. I live for the color pink and have a pretty much every lipstick/blush/lipgloss/np in the pink meets purple family... My favorite color (still) is the love and friendship shade from MAC - so pretty! This had been on my list for a while and I got it very cheap on ebay since its a few seasons old...(NC 42 hands) on me it shows up almost like a hot pink..but I there is just enough purple to make it it doable. I can imagine this would look great on toes...too. But to me the winner is the finish. Such great consistency, so easy to apply, so shiny, so opaque. LOVE Update: While I still love this color..it shows up as a garish hot pink on my hands..so I will keep to me feet...and I still love the color. I have added a pick so you can see what it looks like on darker/yellow/brown skin.
