For those who are using this on the body (especially knees, elbows, extremely dry hands), purchase 100% bottled castor oil instead! It is a cheaper alternative and it'll last you a long time. For lips, nothing beats Vaseline (or C.O. Bigelow's mentha lip shines), though I sometimes use a drop of castor oil on the lips - works great!

Shampoo -Batiste - Dry Shampoo

There is nothing that will give you clean hair besides washing it, but this is great for those off days when you want to freshen your tresses a little. It's not a miracle worker as your hair kind of feels dirtier by the end of the day after using this, but it does it's job for a quick, on-the-go refresher. Smells great and even adds a bit of volume! To use, try to part and work hair in sections and apply quick, sporadic pumps about 10-12 inches away from scalp, work in the product with fingers. This product should be available at your local drug store, beauty supply store, ebay... the cheapest I found was actually at Winners for around $7.99.

Lotions/ Creams -Cetaphil - Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion For Dry Sensitive Skin

I decided to go for the lotion instead of the cream to save a few dollars and realized I should've invested in the creme instead (with better reviews); purchased this for around $14 at Loblaws. This product works okay on the body in that the texture feels somewhat waxy once applied, but that feeling goes away after it is fully absorbed. I would not recommend using this on the face as it left me with little red and white (milia-like) bumps around the sensitive areas of my face. Will probably use the rest of this product for my feet, knees and elbows.

Conditioner -The Body Shop - Rainforest Moisture Conditioner

I decided to try this because my beloved Honey conditioner was discontinued and this was the new (and supposedly) better formulated version. The product did not absorb into my hair at all and left my hair feeling dry and tangled even after leaving in for 10 minutes. Don't waste your money on this conditioner! I also purchased the mask version of this line and was also disappointed as it was just a thicker version of the conditioner.

Lotions/ Creams -Paula's Choice - RESIST Skin Revealing 10% AHA Lotion

I HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone who has dry, uneven skin. It's perfect for getting rid of those bumps behind the thighs and upper arms, promise! You see results after one day with one application. Caution: Do not use after shaving or on broken skin! I even use this on my face. I prefer this lotion for my face to the 8% AHA gel (I don't like the sticky consistency it creates on my face) Available at cosmeticscop.ca (NEW Canadian site!)

Conditioner -Matrix - Amplify Conditioner

I'm returning this conditioner as soon as the store opens tomorrow! DO NOT BUY THIS CONDITIONER! I have never in my life used a conditioner as runny as this one before--I even suspected it may have been watered down, but after reading some others' reviews, I guess that's how it was formulated, which is beyond me, since the product just runs off of my hair. It left my normal to dry hair FLAT. DO NOT BUY! The shampoo is not nearly as bad, but didn't deliver the results as promised--will be returning that as well.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)

If you have oily lids in the summer (like I do), this product works like a charm. If you have slightly drier lids in the winter (like I do), you will love this product because it is neither drying nor oily to the skin. My shadows, concealers and liners stays put for the entire day. I apply concealer first, then UDPP, shadows and then liner. To remove, I use either baby oil or lately, almond oil which I find is more gentle on the eyes. This product may be a bit challenging to work with for a first timer, especiially if you love to blend your shadows. Its a must-try-at-least-once for everyone. Did not irritate my dry, sensitive eyes. Available at Sephora for $18 CAD.

Mascara -Shiseido - Majolica Majorca Lash Expander

This mascara is amazing. The pretty packaging sold me on the spot while I was browsing the aisles of Sasa in Hong Kong. The texture is fibrous and uses a comb applicator which helps to separate lashes and distribute the product evenly through my lashes. Lasts all-day, through all weather, weddings, washings and what-not. The effect is like using one of those 2-step primer/mascaras, without the primer. Very easy to apply but a b*tch to remove (I find baby oil or almond oil good for removing eye makeup).

Very sexy, clean, warm scent. Perfect for those cold winter months when you need a scent with lasting power--not particularily appropriate for summer, since it can be overbaring.
